  1. Last week while out shopping here in N Virginia, I saw a personalized license plate that said SYR1A. Which probably means SYRIA had already been taken. It’s probably nothing.
At least Italy has a lot of unemployed youth if they want to build their military back up. Not sure how Europe avoids what they’ve sown.

  2. If we just make sure they all have good jobs, it won’t be a problem. It’s certainly not their religious fanaticism we have to worry about. Ask Marie Harf.

  3. Italy is about to discover that great powers often have a big navy for many good reasons. Too many European countries have assumed the U.S. will protect them for free. It’s time they pick up the check.

  4. Yes, I find this unsettling, too.
We also don’t know how many are entering across our southern border without visas.

Too many European countries have assumed the U.S. will protect them for free. It’s time they pick up the check.

It’s ironic that in the post-WWII era, the American military provided protection for Western Europe from the Soviet threat.

Freed from the necessity of providing for their own defense, the European nations spent their money on social welfare programs instead.

Then American liberals pointed to Europe as an example to be emulated: “Look! They’re so much more advanced than us. We should stop policing the world, cut our military, and spend more on social programs.”

    And here we are.

  6. neo asks, “does anyone think we can properly vet the influx of Syrian emigrants?”

Those with their heads screwed on know the answer is “no”, and the lefties, liberals, and even some so-called centrists and RINOs simply don’t give a good g#dd#mn.

    Period.

  7. Can it be any clearer?

Not only is Obama wanting to bring vast hordes of Syrian immigrants to the US. For US taxpayers to support, just like the illegals already here.

Yesterday, we learn this administration refused to share target intelligence with Egypt, who requested help in targeting ISIS.

How much more is it going to take for the public to wake up?

This president and his party not only do not have our nation’s best interests at heart, they actively work to weaken us. The republican establishment in Washington acts like a wholly owned franchise of the democrats.

We now get to see just how honest the new republican majority is by witnessing their refusal to defund the DHS and fight Obama’s illegal amnesty.

It takes a lone federal judge in Texas to do what all of the republican senators and congressmen promised they would do before the election, and conveniently forgot after it.

The democrats want to flood the the nation with immigrants who will be beholden to government largesse and constitute a permanent democrat majority, while big business wants a cheap and pliant labor pool.

It cannot be any more apparent that there is functionally no difference between the democrats and the republicans. It is also apparent that the real reason Obama was elected and re-elected were not his politics, which poll after poll has shown to be unpopular, but his willingness to bankrupt our country to underwrite the welfare state.

    While we bitch and complain, we will be treated to;
    1. Illegals being subsidized at taxpayer expense.
    2. Further mass immigration.
    3. Further erosion of due process and the rule of law.
    4. Increased de-funding of the military
    5. More politics of division.
    6. The destruction of the internet as we know it with the new FCC regulations this administration refuses to let the public see, until they are enacted.
    7. Increased attacks on Americans abroad, and at home.
    8. The hastening of the financial collapse as this administration has borrowed more money than all of the other administrations combined. Going back to Washington.

The list could go on, and on unfortunately. However, as long as government transfers make up two thirds of government spending, don’t expect to see any change, we are all too busy enjoying the free ride, at the expense of the future.

  8. The Italians may find that their fecklessness has left them in a situation where they have to either accept that they don’t really have a southern border, or start sinking “human trafficking” ships. It’s such a pain when reality suddenly gets real after you try to ignore it for so very long.
