Hope and change from Obama — 41 Comments

  1. Ya know, in this day and age….hard to tell the satire from reality.
    Too funny, Neo!

  2. Heh. Good one! If it weren’t the day it is, I might actually have believed this.

  3. This is outrageous! How dare he!

I’m going to write to the New York Times!

Actually, to this point of the set-up,

“In the six-plus years it has been my privilege to serve as your president, I’ve learned a lot and experienced a lot. You might say I’ve evolved. I’m older, wiser, more tested. As the historic first black president, I’ve been a trailblazer and a beacon to the African-American community and all of America, and I’ve been proud of that. …

… you could have fooled a lot of people at any other time of the year.

No doubt you feared to continue with the realistic sounding material, lest it show up on Snopes.

  4. Nicely done, Neo!

I notice you used the right proportion of “I”s, too…

  5. DNW:

Actually, I’ve had the experience of joke posts being taken seriously several times before, and having to issue disclaimers. One in particular (2010) received very wide coverage (it was cited at Breitbart as well as Instapundit and some others, if I’m not mistaken) and to this day there are probably people who think it’s true.

Here’s the post; it was very elaborate. And here’s something I wrote about it the next day.

  6. I agree with rickl, it is plausible given the messiah’s record for ignoring the rule of law, and getting away with it. However, I think boychild wants to make big bucks, stay away from Michelle as much as possible, and of course visiting the premier golf courses on the planet.

  7. For his own good, I think Obama should first demonstrate he has the cojones to stand up to Iran and radical Islamic terrorism, in general, before he decides to surgically get rid of what ever he has going on between his legs. (At this point, I think the average 4-th grader–boy or girl–would be a more forthright and effective Commander-in chief than “which-hand-do I-salute-with” and “I-might-be-a-mole” Obama.)

Also, if Obama is allowed to get away with this kind of sex-change ploy and continue on as president, what’s to stop him from next claiming he has multiple personalities (like a Sybil or Eve) and that he is a new person every four or eight years? His reign conceivably might continue on for at least another 30 or so years. How ever long it goes on, I expect Hillary will still be waiting in the wings. For electability reasons, she likely will have transitioned to a man by then.

  8. I was considering the possibility until the last sentence of the first paragraph, “In fact, you might say that it’s the first time in my adult life I’ve been proud of my country” in the context of seeking a third term, he would never say that publicly.

But what’s truly scary is not that he would undoubtedly seize such an opportunity if one emerged but that he’d stand an excellent chance of winning again.

A large percentage of Americans are suicidal, in that they refuse to see “the handwriting on the wall”. (four in ten Americans actually think we can trust the Iranians to keep a deal…) No matter how many times it happens, it still manages to amaze.

My guess is that many people would rather die than accept a reality they abhor. If so, it is definitive evidence that the need to maintain a fantasy can overwhelm the instinct to survive.

  9. That’s nuts…

Ayatollah Soetoro should run as the first out-of-the-closet gay president.

Then Michael can be “first bro.”

    That’s the ticket.

  10. a bit of news then back to the thread..

Cynthia Lennon, who was married to the late Beatles legend John Lennon during his rise to fame, has died, FOX411 has learned. She was 75. A rep for Cynthia and John Lennon’s only son, Julian Lennon, confirmed the news. “Cynthia Lennon passed away today at her home in Mallorca, Spain, following a short but brave battle with cancer,” a statement from Julian Lennon’s rep read. “Her son Julian Lennon was at her bedside throughout. The family are thankful for your prayers. Please respect their privacy at this difficult time.”

  11. Unfortunately, satire is the new reality; and April Fool’s Day can occur at any time of the year.

Took me a moment Neo. As others have said, a story about the One has to be pretty outrageous to be unbelievable. The key was that he would make his intentions public.

  12. There is one comfort as I contemplate your fantasy. He could never pull of a “military coup”. Although the BLA or the New Black Panthers bear watching.

  13. 1) Art: Who gives a s*it about Cynthia?
    2) Baraq can’t play the tough great golf courses without cheating. He plays them to prove he’s broken through the color barrier like no one else ever has.

  14. To be honest, I will be quite surprised if Obama actually does leave office. He just pulls out his pen and scribbles through the 22nd amendment and declares he has ended those pesky eligibility rules. Who is going to stop him?

The entire Federal government is run by Democrats. They will finally have the dictatorship they have always wanted.

Obama has declared allegiance to Iran and considers Israel an enemy. A majority of Democrats in Congress are fine with that, because they know anyone who gets in his way he destroys.

Like I said, who is going to stop him?

  15. neo-neocon Says:
    April 1st, 2015 at 2:19 pm

Here’s the post; it was very elaborate.

I remember that. That may have been the greatest April Fool’s post in the history of the internet.

  16. here is more of what never gets covered here:

According to notes made by an American at a meeting between Russian generals and US officials — and seen by The Times newspaper – Moscow threatened a “spectrum of responses from nuclear to non-military” if Nato moved more forces into Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

The Russians told the meeting, which took place in Germany last month, that an attempt to return Crimea to Ukraine would be met “forcefully including through the use of nuclear force”.

Norway Reverts to Cold War Mode as Russian Air Patrols Spike
    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/02/world/europe/a-newly-assertive-russia-jolts-norways-air-defenses-into-action.html?_r=0

[i guess its easier to play “lets figure out how it happened” over “lets report its happening”]

  17. the prior was not an april fools joke…

the costs are now escalated to where our only option is nuclear war to stop Russian aggression . Great job Obama, Kerry, Clinton.

    Chamberlain II (Mission Accomplished)

  18. Last year, Norway intercepted 74 Russian warplanes off its coast, 27 percent more than in 2013, scrambling F-16 fighters from a military air base in Bodo to monitor and photograph them. This is far fewer than the hundreds of Soviet planes Norway tracked off its coast at the height of the Cold War. However, last year’s total was a drastic increase from the 11 Russian warplanes Norway spotted 10 years earlier.

here is how it will play out…
either NATO goes to war, nuclear or not
or NATO is dead… and all the protection agreements are then null and void… and so, buy lots of stock in military supply… cause EVERYONE on the planet will change how they see the “peace dividend” and no one will trust the USA… (not that they do now much, but they will do so much less).

of course, given this, war will probably come anyway
and as i said years ago, probably in the last year of Obama, as no soviet is going to not act upon the gift they have been given with tweedledum, tweedledee, herman munster, et al.

  19. Understand. It’s a “joke post”.
However, you cannot claim this part of your post to be in the jocular:

“…and although he didn’t exactly specify what the change would be, people somehow trusted that it would be good.”
    _______________________________________

Now, what is particularly sad and poignant about this statement of yours is that it is simply misrepresentative.
    Misrepresentative?
Indeed. Nearly half of America DOES see Obama’s activities, behavior, policies, etc. as, “good”.
Those not included in that segment are a mixed bag. Many are clueless.
1.) Many neither know nor have much of an opinion on what has been occurring over the past 6 years.
2.) Many simply do not care, as unbelievable as this might seem.
3.) And then the here are those like me. Demoralized over the absolute disregard this man-child has for the constitution, the law, and the “spirit” of what has made America great over the past two hundred years. What he has opted to focus on is the “glass-half-empty”. The under-belly. Choosing to foment anger and anxiety over issues he’s race-baited on; Cambridge Police Department debacle, Trayvon Martin incident, Ferguson, MO uprising (which he and Eric Holder and Al Sharpton and a complicit MSM caused).
Rather than opine of a “malaise” as Jimmy Carter once did, Baraka has actually created one. At every turn, this president wishes to cause disruption through feigned outrage over petty issues (myriad ones) so as to take focus from the REAL issues; unemployment, economic strength and competitive vibrancy here and abroad, building and supporting relationships with foreign countries that share our values and goals.
Yep——there are TENS OF MILLIONS in this country who not only “trusted” that Baraka would act for the “good” of the country—–they actually BELIEVE he has.
And that is NOT a joke.
And that is NO April Fool’s falderal.
And that is no insignificant FACT.

  20. The NEXT “joke” to spend considerable time and energy and whirly-whimsy on is the fast-approaching engagement between these tens of millions of Americans who are salivating over the prospect of Hillary Clinton’s ascendency to her rightful position on the throne.
Yes, the jokes and light-spirited nature of her campaign is gearing up for full-throated political “fancies” and smoke-and-mirror gamesmanship.
The Criminal Party will be seen spinning and dancing and laughing and having a great ‘ole time while, The Stupid Party, will be playing their favorite role of trying to catch-up and keep-up with the onslaught of character assassinations and demonization’s and nonsensical narratives generated by the playful dems as they navigate their way to the white house in 2016.
Hillary’s camp is responsible for having brought to the fore so much destructive information about Baraka Obama in the 2008 political campaign games. Her camp made many efforts to derail Baraka’s momentum. It was her camp that planted seeds such as the “Kenyan birth certificate” issue.
    All in fun, of course.
It was her camp which made efforts to reveal Baraka’s gay relationships and affiliation with, ‘Man’s Country’, a men’s club in Chicago.
It was her camp that offered up juicy information about Baraka’s affiliation with Tony Reszko and his involvement with Baraka’s Chicago residence.
There are more examples of Hillary’s willingness to reveal opportunities which she hoped would be used as ammunition by the GOP (and the media) against Baraka Obama.
She and her cabal are professionals at this game. And they are working tirelessly behind the scenes, all while waiting to unleash the 2016 version.
    All in fun.
    All in political playfulness.
All with the objective to cause madness and mayhem and chaos in her run-up to the throne.

  21. “When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.”

  22. “. . . been my privilege to serve as your president . . .”

Nice April Fool’s Joke, Neo; but, that part gives it away – it is never Obama’s privilege to serve anyone.

Now, if you had said it was OUR privilege to serve him then the joke would have been believable!

  23. Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon on a daily basis.
It’s always interesting to read through articles
from other writers and use something from their websites.
