Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty on all counts
Guilty on all thirty counts, seventeen of which carry a possible death penalty.
This is no surprise whatsoever. The penalty phase, in which the defense will try to make the case that he was under the influence of his evil older brother (now conveniently dead), will be interesting. Even though it’s Boston and Massachusetts, a very liberal place, I think the heinous nature of his crime might just get him a death penalty, although whether it would actually be carried out is anybody’s guess.
I don’t buy this “under the influence” business. I think Dhzokhar Tsarnaev was acting nder the influence of the fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is a murderous and cold-blooded psychopath (or sociopath, take your pick). I wrote about that here:
Reading Cleckley [on psychopaths], and then reading the Rolling Stone piece [on Dzhokhar], one can’t help but be struck by the similarity between his friends’ descriptions of Dzhokhar and Cleckley’s descriptions of psychopaths. Many of Dzhokhar’s friends were deeply puzzled by the cool, chill, laid-back Jahar’s [Dzhokhar’s nickname] participation in the bombing, and theorized that his more conventionally depressed, angry, and jihadi brother Tamerlan must have “turned” him or controlled or brainwashed him in some way to have accounted for Dzhokhar’s going along with such a violent and cold-blooded act.
Most people would find it hard to believe that Tamerlan, the more ideologically motivated of the pair, could really just say to his brother, “Hey, want to help me bomb people at the marathon?” and that Dzhokhar would say, “Sure, why not?” But if one studies psychopaths, it is much easier to see how that could really be the case. There is no need to postulate some sort of terrible psychological trauma for Dzhokhar, nor any particularly deep influence or mysterious control Tamerlan had over him, if Dzhokhar is a psychopath. It may have just seemed like a good idea to Dzhokhar at the time, and he had no inner core of morality to stop him…]
I hope he gets life without parole and spends decades fearing a sharpened object in his throat every time he closes his eyes.

I wonder, if instead of Dhzokhar Tsarnaev acting under the influence of his older brother Tamerlan… that it wasn’t the opposite? Might not a “cool, chill, laid-back” psychopath like Dhzokhar have easily manipulated a “depressed, angry” Tamerlan? Just for ‘kicks’ you understand.

Whereas, rather than support him for the rest of his natural life I would rather send an unmistakable message; that he be given a sex-change operation, fed a diet heavy in estrogen while he healed and as soon as he developed recognizable mammary glands, stripped and executed by drowning him in a clear acrylic vat of pig’s blood.
The purpose being to attack them through their own beliefs. Henceforth, no virgins, no paradise will await them. Televised of course followed by an announcement that all jihadist terrorists would face that manner of execution in the future.
When fighting an enemy that rejects the ‘water of mercy’ you fight fire with fire.
Let them know what they now risk and put the ‘fear of Allah’ into them. Classic PSYOPS, you gain leverage over an enemy by credibly threatening what they cannot risk. Recruitment would greatly suffer.
I’d expect ayatollah Soetoro to commute his fellow jihadi’s sentence on the way out the door, January 19, 2017.
The 8th prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, it protects no one from the actions of their fellow prisoners. The chechen boychild should live in fear for many decades. If the messiah pardons him, he becomes fair game destined for the hog pen.
Psychopaths are drawn to jihad and terrorism because they are psychopaths not because they are religious. It is not a chicken and the egg situation. The religion or political butt hurt is the excuse and rationalization after they are already psychopaths. Most psychopaths go through life causing lower level harm (look at his mother the thief, welfare fraud, twister of her children’s souls, etc) but jihad gives them the rationalized excuse to let their freak fly. Jahar was a drug dealing, student aid sucking, bum irregardless of his religious proclivities and at a very, very early age. His brother was just an older version and more physically violent because he was bigger and stronger than Rolling Stone dreamboat.
Let’s not forget their terminating jihad against their Jewish buddies — which, IIRC, occurred on September 11th a year prior.

Those with long memories will recall that the Boston authorities didn’t even want to zero in on Muslims during the first days — even though they had endless eyewitness accounts fingering these ‘immigrants.’
‘Immigrants” that fit the jihadi profile to a tee.
