John Adams has a few things to tell us — 18 Comments

  1. I like this one:

“I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is a disgrace, that two become a lawfirm, and that three or more become a congress.”

  2. OHhhhhhhh, Neo, what would that ol’Guy possibly know? I mean…geeezz…he didn’t even have a Liberty App. or Google to, like, give him clear knowledge of, like, Ish-Shoes.

That said, those cautionary lines from that great founder put a smile on my heart…followed almost immediately by shivers for obvious reasons. My God, if he, George, Thomas, James, Ben and Alex could pop in and see Political Correctness on steroids in its 3rd decade and the Tyranny of the Left in Universities…They’d come fully armed and ready to contest the meal.

  3. Those quotes are beyond the reading capacity and vocabulary of most low information voters.

  4. What would John Adams say about a “nation” (ha ha) that does not know a male from a female (re: your post below)? I suspect that he would say that it is not remotely worthy of liberty…and he would be correct.

This is where we are today. We, as Americans, are not worthy of liberty. The liberty we had we never did one thing to earn. Others did. We are only and simply a shame and a disgrace as a “nation”. There is one exception – those who have fought (not served, but fought) in the military. To them, I offer not thanks but apologies. When I consider them I realize that the shame upon us is 100X worse than it already is.

People think today that our problems are political. They are not. Rather, our problem is the intellectual degenerates who think it is political. They are demons straight from Hell, Orcs fresh from the gates of Morder to a man and woman. They are not barbarians. Would that they were. They are closest in personality to Arthur’s son Mordred. They are the evil inside the kingdom that hates so much it only wants to destroy anything good, and “enjoys” that destruction. They are not Leftists. They are Mordredists. Mordredism is their religion.

Which brings us to the 2nd fact. Our problems are religious ones.

And we are so far away from being religious that it is almost comical. We are so “psycho” in the religious field that we almost get an excuse – in the way that a person with an IQ of 25 might be excused for doing something wrong.

Religion knows its God; and so knows what a human is and what a universe is. Religion celebrates its communal unity and belief under the reality of truth. Not that it might not be wrong; but a religions can also repent.

Us? Today? We know nothing; not even what a man or a woman is. Future generations will truly write that we are, without doubt, the stupidest generation of people in the history of all generations. Never in the history of history has it ever been unknown what a male was and a female was.

Lost? We are too lost to even think about being lost. We are in a different category altogether.

Surely, it is the end times. And just as well, since that is the medicine e need to recover sanity.

  5. John Adams said the following;

“There are two educations. One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live.’

“Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion… in private self-defense.”

“Property is surely a right of mankind and as real as liberty.”

“Property must be secured, or liberty cannot exist.”
The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the law of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.”

“You have rights antecedent to all earthly governments; rights that cannot be repealed or restrained by human laws; rights derived from the great legislator of the universe.”

“There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power sufficient to endanger the public liberty.”

“The essence of a free government consists in an effectual control of rivalries.”

“There is no good government but what is republican…the very definition of a republic is “an empire of laws, and not of men…”

“a single assembly, possessed of all the powers of government, would make arbitrary laws for their own interest, execute all laws arbitrarily for their own interest, and adjudge all controversies in their own favor.”

“Because power corrupts, society’s demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.”

“Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak and that it is doing God’s service when it is violating all his laws.”

“The right of a nation to kill a tyrant in case of necessity can no more be doubted than to hang a robber, or kill a flea.”

  6. To be honest, I am surprised America lasted as long as she did. The only thing left is, if you can, to sneak out of the target areas. They go after the weak, the slow, the sick, first. And the crowds rejoice at the lifting of that weight. A burden created by the state through tax and spend. Then they go after all those who they invited to come out of closets, and into the light otherwise, who are different and of a smaller minority. And still there is rejoicing. Finally, they come after you, if nothing else, then for rejoicing over the evil they did in your name.

I don’t even think most Americans even get it anymore. So… I’m figuring out how to sneak off. Better to die in the wilds, then in some horror chamber, no matter how nice the place seems… at first. They come in but they don’t get out. There is a song and video that fits for the generation who sold freedom for convenience, took escape instead of responsibility, and will be among the first to suffer.

  7. mike:

Not only a minority confusion, but pride and normalization. Still, while mistaking a man for a woman, physically or mentally, is bad, mistaking a human life evolving from conception for a negotiable clump of cells is objectively worse. The pro-choice or selective-child policy is a wicked solution to a “wicked problem”. The secular opiates to suppress reason and conscience must be especially good.

That said, liberty is only suitable and possible for men and women capable of self-moderating, responsible behavior. Perhaps a period of moderation and reason is a recurring social consensus.

  8. Yet, we never had a better, more competent, more rational military …
    Go figure.

  9. Ah, Posterity. The second named party to the social contract, The Constitution. The negotiable party when following secular profits of wealth, pleasure, and leisure… and democratic leverage. The party bereft of human and civil rights until selectively declared.

The original compromise to preserve slavery in the face of a confrontation with foreign and domestic sovereigns dampened American development. The progressive compromise to sacrifice Posterity for liberal and Democrat virtues has debased American lives.

That said, I don’t trust the motives of people who purport to care for human life and welfare while preying and devouring intrinsic value and dignity. Once, repent. Twice and more, …

  10. … That said, liberty is only suitable and possible for men and women capable of self-moderating, responsible behavior. Perhaps a period of moderation and reason is a recurring social consensus….

The new social consensus to emerge:
You ‘Must be Made’ to Obey
    Cameron.
    Hiltlery.

All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state. Benito

    I blame the voters ….

  11. The best US military was after Vietnam, when the draft ended, and before 2009.

At this point, the US military is well on the way to being conditioned to act as royal guards or praetorians. The purges continue non stop, and have been for years now.

The US military often acted as a safety valve for problem people that the Left could not indoctrinate. Since the Left could not reach everyone, they pooled their hate against the Other in the armed forces. That is, of course, until the Left’s power reaches such a crescendo that not even the US armed forces are safe from the Left’s grasp. A crescendo that we reached some time ago.

The Leftist alliance being an amalgamation of often contradictory ideologies, serial killers, rapists, child molestors, and power corrupt lawyer politicians, has a wide variety of talents and logistical resources to draw from for their operations and SOP.

The US military succeeded in defending American patriots from foreign enemies. But did the citizens do their duty at home, when the enemy came to the gates and demanded that we open them? Did patriots stand up and kill the Domestic Enemy or did people stand around and allow the Domestic Enemy to open the gates?

Now it is too late. Underestimating the Leftist alliance was the final mistake, for from it, we were all doomed to this fate.

What John Adams said? See what he did.

That’s how people often react to threats they don’t understand, or perhaps in this case it is over react. But that is perhaps more sustainable than the current modern day under reaction.

  13. I hope Mr. Adams was wrong about lost liberty being gone forever. I like to think that one day we will get it back.

  14. Last I looked, those under 30 years old who believed in American Exceptionalism – who knows if they grasped it – dropped to 51%. (It was over 70% only a decade ago.)

If you cannot grasp your own nation’s identity, you are bound to lose your forward course.

  15. In the play (and movie) 1776, the character of John Adams says, with respect to slavery (paraphrased): “If we do not address this now, I fear posterity will never forgive us.”

It turns out that what he actually said was even more prophetic — enough so as to be spooky, which is no doubt why the line was changed for the play. Mr. Adams actually said something like: “If we do not address this now, in one hundred years I fear we shall pay a terrible price.”

Sometimes the best a great man can do is to know when to stay out of the way. That’s what Adams did when he got Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence. I think he’d be remembered much better by history, had he not gone on to become President.

  16. It is what separates humans from the Leftist alliance. John Adam was a patriot, a fervent believer in liberty, with all the virtues and vices of being a true believer or fanatic. When he saw a threat, he over reacted with all the power at his disposal.

He was a human being, with all the mistakes and righteous actions that that entails. But he wasn’t a Leftist.

If he was a Leftist, everything he did would have been for one purpose and one purpose alone: the perpetuation of evil.

  17. If one gives power to a human, he may make a mistake with it. When one gives power to the Left, the consequences are very predictable, very consistent, and extremely long term.

That is what differentiates the people the Left creates and the people humanity creates.
