Beauteous Acadia — 12 Comments

  1. Unfortunately the only known cure for the common cold involves immersing oneself in the ocean water to be found opposite the Bar Harbor Lobster Pond restaurant at the entrance to the Acadia Park. It has been shown that those brave enough to do so not only shed their cold immediately they get a free lobster roll at the Lobster Pond.

You’ll just have to drive back for a dip.

  2. Acadia and Maine in general is a beautiful place. Sorry about your summer cold, but at least its not the flu.

  3. Acadia is spectacular!…thnx for the reminder Neo…gotta get there this year

  4. At least you didn’t travel to Mexico. You would have picked up something much worse there from drinking the water.

  5. A cold? But, how is that even possible, Neo, you have an apple a day in your face.

Oh, I know, you just hold it there and don’t even take one bite.

  6. Cold Eze! If it is taken in the first 24 hours, and a goodly dose of kettle steam, you’ll whip it in a couple of days. Being sixty four years old helps, too, since the body has already been exposed to the viruses at least once.

  7. Michael Adams:

I’ve been a faithful user of ColdEez for years, which usually shortens the length of my colds from about 8 weeks to about 4-6.

I tend to get pretty nasty colds, obviously.

  8. Try Umcka. I learned about it last year. Two colds since and the symptoms have been very bearable. It works best if you start using it as soon as you notice the symptoms, but my wife used it after two days of suffering and it helped her too. Now she’s sold on it.

  9. Drink hot apple cider, and cocoa, the warmth helps drain the sinuses.

  10. My solution: hot peppers – to decongest- and garlic. But then I eat them daily, cold or no cold. My cousin from NYC visited last year, bringing a cold with her. She can attest to the decongesting qualities of hot peppers.
