Liberals to SCOTUS: don’t you dare gut Obamacare — 8 Comments

  1. It is way worse than that. Today at a G7 presser, Obama said SCOTUS never even should have accepted the ACA case. Even though the Supreme Court made an error in agreeing to hear the case, he said it was “easy.”

Nixon: SCOTUS never should have granted cert in that tape case.

Madison: SCOTUS never should have heard that Marbury case.

But this is typical Barack; divide and politicize everything.
I looked at the comments at HuffPo on this story. The comments were that the Supreme Court consists of a bunch of Republican hacks supported by the Kochs. I kid you not. And a gratituous attack on my classmate Ginny Lamp Thomas.

This is exactly the result Obama wants with his base. Every lawyer in the country knows that the Supreme Court has almost absolute discretion over its docket and it is supposed to decide cases of important national interest.

This latest Obama stunt is pure knave. Trying to make the Supreme Court look more political than it already is.

  2. They had to pass it to know what was in it, now they own it. Republicans have no reason to put a bandaid on obamacare to temporarily protect the boychild’s ‘legacy’.

  3. Cornhead:

    I noticed that, too.

At the very beginning of Obama’s 2008 campaign, that sort of thing surprised me. It stopped surprising me a long time ago, but my sense of outrage remains. His disrespect for the Constitution and the system of checks and balances, and his successes at using rhetoric to inflame the obedient liberals and left who love to pick up on any meme he tosses them, while clothing himself in the mantle of a constitutional scholar, are blatantly obvious.

  4. BAAAAAD SCOTUS….!! A scam sold on lies by professional Liars=Obamacare. Keep your doctor…Pay far less….Authored by Pinnochio…

  5. The whole thing is a train wreck period. I paid my insurance premium for Kaiser through Obamacare here in California and received a bill saying I did not pay. And, it happened again. I could barely sign up, not sure how that happened at all actually. The website is better but still not to be trusted. I am getting Kaiser and glad to get it but I am paying more for healthcare than ever in the past and I strongly suspect my employer cut my hours to keep me on the subsidies instead of paying my healthcare through the company. I think it is true that Obamacare makes it more expensive for employers generally. In any case, it will be interesting to see what happens. No way this whole mess is constitutional.

  6. Jonathan Gruber is the gift that keeps on giving. He bragged that they intentionally wrote the bill that way because they thought it would incentivize the States to set up their own exchanges. Now they are hoist on their own petard. (Don’t know if that’s correct, but I like the sound of it. 🙂 )

Obama knows it too, but he’s as oily and devious as ever in blaming someone else while trying to stir up the base.

Will the Supremes follow the law or ? That’s why Supreme Court nominations are important.

  7. 404Casre is the result of the problem of Congress not reading laws before they vote on them. (They have one job!) We see the same shit happening with that TPP crap. In the latter’s case, President Boyfriend makes Congresbastards go to a room to read the bill, if they are inclined to read the damn thing at all, but they cannot take any notes nor discuss in public anything they’ve read.

In my book, the definition of Tyranny is passing laws unread. That should be a capital offense and not the capitol way of doing business as usual.
