What does the hard left have in mind for America? — 66 Comments

  1. Regardless of whether people think the Hussein Regime is behind it or not, the Leftist alliance is still going to kill people.

Ruby Ridge. Waco 1. Waco 2. Benghazi. Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They’re going to die, regardless of what people like to think is the cause. The difference is merely between those who can trace it back to the original order and those who are ignorant enough to think it is a coincidence or luck.

  2. 1. We have already been re-educated on SSM.

    2. We have up to 30m illegal aliens in this country. With their children, they will put the Dems in power for the next 50 years unless we win in 2016.

  3. Remember when I said that the Democrats had 10 million fake votes to utilize in national elections? People refused to deal with the situation, thus they had no counters to it or anything to say about it even.

Btw, that was back in 2008. In 2016, their fake votes will exceed…. what was the multiplicity of that immigrant number again?

  4. ““The Other Chuck” then announced his attention to stop commenting at the blog.”

Well, as we used to say on The Well,

    Door.
    Ass.
    Bang!

  5. The trajectory of such in the US must go a different way because the American public is self-armed. Not the people in the cities, but in other places. One only has to look at some of the more extreme gun events where people show up with firearms ranging from .50 cal sniper rifles, to battery powered .30 cal miniguns…
So the way this was to progress is “Helter Skelter”, which is the point and whats been followed. The power base has been neutered by feminism, and racism (directed at the power base, not by the power base), and they will do what they did in other places. Keep the lid on till it blows and take advantage of that.
Remember, unlike Germany or soviet union, we are no longer backwards, we are no longer isolated in time and location. Time is now down to a few hours at most, and location is also a few hours away, when back then, you could not even get the information in that time.
Your looking for the change, but we passed the event horizon a long time ago… shortly after neo and others asked me why I was so negative about the future ten years ago or so. Its because I don’t see the current dying out of the dominant group, being replaced by some posterity that cares. In fact, that posterity has been twisted around to the point where they are dysfunctional and believe otherwise, as its easier to blame others than accept a negative reality about oneself.
Just as in the past, they have already diced up the USA, and you can look up from decades past what is the intent. The saving grace for us walking dead is that the people doing this are not going to actually benefit in the long run as they think they would. After all, what good is being rich in a world that has no real economy? What is your protection if even social connections could not save Stalin from Beria?
The wealthy who are mostly behind this, and a small cadre of them, not all, ultimately will be shocked and surprised…. After all, the revolution will not tolerate their living, as that is the point of the counter revolution.
There is a very long list of things that could have told people what is coming, from the list of anti communist laws removed, the maps, the body bags, the camps who are now ready and full of military waiting to be used as detailed in the army paper, the signing statements that allow them to take over the key things that make this a state, the controlling of the means of production (the man killed for selling loosies would never have died in a capitalist state, he was killed for violating a anti capitalist law that basically says, your property is not yours to do with as you wish even after you pay for it.)
At some point, the economics will no longer be able to support the welfare rolls, and that’s when the hard revolution (modern version) will break out. But then that would leave us all vulnerable to the other states. As in Indonesia, would china sit by and watch it fall with Russia, or would they intervene?

Too bad for us I guess…

  6. The successful revolution is only the beginning. Keeping it is a trial needing ever more exertion to applying ever more pressure and torque until… murder sprees.

“How a revolution erupts from a commonplace event – tidal wave from a ripple – is cause for endless astonishment. Neither Luther in 1517 nor the men who gathered at Versailles in 1789 intended at first what they produced at last. Even less did the Russian Liberals who made the revolution of 1917 foresee what followed. All were as ignorant as everybody else of how much was about to be destroyed. Nor could they guess what feverish feelings, what strange behavior ensue when revolution, great or short-lived, is in the air.”
Jacques Barzun (From Dawn To Decadence)

Who could guess, when this all started — the Age of Revolution – what would come of regime changes, after the ancien régime had been done away with? No longer need we guess. Every revolution was brought upon us by the Age of Reason upon which it had been utterly lost that just one of the many things man can do better than reason is rationalize.

If virtue be the spring of a popular government in times of peace, the spring of that government during a revolution is virtue combined with terror: virtue, without which terror is destructive; terror, without which virtue is impotent. Terror is only justice prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; it is less a distinct principle than a natural consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing wants of the country … The government in a revolution is the despotism of liberty against tyranny.
    – Maximilien Frané§ois Marie Isidore de Robespierre* (Report on the Principles of Political Morality, given on 5 February 1794)
    *once vehemently anti-capital punishment

Every revolution excepting the American, that is. And more’s the shame and greater indictment that we had so vilely squandered so unique a success.

  7. I consider Bill Ayers to be the model of the 60s Left.

His father was rich. Bill probably inherited a 1,000 acre farm in central Iowa or Illinois. Cash yield to the owner of 3% and a perfect inflation hedge.

He then teaches at a third rate state school. Easy hours and great salary. Summers off. Lecture and book income. Defined benefit retirement plan that is much better than private industry.

And in his own mind, he deserves it all and he has always been correct.

I hate those people. They have ruined this country and have done so in comfort.

  8. What really drives me nuts is the persistence of the left. It’s like being nibbled to death by ducks. They just don’t quit. A few days ago we learned that the administration is looking at taking away gun rights for Social Security recipients who need help with their financial affairs. Who thought that one up? Lots of poor old people live in dangerous neighborhoods. You might have trouble balancing a checkbook, but you can still shoot a burglar crawling through a window. Old people are vulnerable to crooks.

No sooner did the SS gun story break than when we saw a report that the EPA was going to regulate the amount of water a dishwasher can use. We already have toilets that don’t flush. Next will be dishwashers that don’t wash.

What seems to be happening is the federal government wants to regulate every aspect of our lives. It’s all about control for the left. We get a dose every few days.

  9. Alinsky taught a method, one to which his followers have largely adhered. Why? Because it works. Fraud and deception, top to bottom and eternal in practice are very inexpensive tools.

  10. Leftist radicals came to understand that the sort of violent measures described on the tape would not be required because their aims could be reached in more peaceful ways that would be both subtle and effective, and would mostly occur under the radar, forestalling the “counter-revolution” until the damage was already done.

I don’t agree with this interpretation. Even looking at Ayers’ Underground Weathermen crowd, they stopped using violence because they blew their own comrades up with a bomb meant for American military families and members.

So being incompetent at the actual violence thing, while being competent at the sexual indoctrination thing as seen in Patricia Hearst’s case… the Left chose to maximize their strengths over trying to plate over their weaknesses (physical violence).

In war, this would be seen as successfully knowing your weaknesses and strengths.

The West lost sight of their own cultural strengths and threw away the desire to learn the nature of their enemies, a long time ago. Virtue, freedom, liberty, independence, they weren’t inheritances passed down through the blood.

  11. I hate those people. They have ruined this country and have done so in comfort.

The Left has the guts to sell human parts off and create rape capitals for sexual slaves.

The question I’ve had since 2007… do Americans actually have the guts to make enemies of humanity suffer or was bombing Japanese cities, something only someone with balls like Truman could do, while the rest of America merely sits by and inherits that benefit?

  12. What ranges from interesting to infuriating is the more or less nice people–mush heads–who take each step as if they’re making moral progress and can’t be reached by reason or facts. Useful idiots is one of the most apt, accurate descriptions of a group EVER.

  13. i should point out that the largest block of votors that created the situation was the women of the dominant class voting against the interests of the people and for their own selfish ends which was given to them by the leaders of such.

without feminism (ie. class struggle, not women not working… but women working without the credit going to an ideological class), none of this all would be possible.

but note, when men ran things, abortion was illegal, and a whole list of things that could be spun negative..

now that women run things, claim men run them, we have legal abortions, and the women selling the body parts of the dead fetus (illegally technically) and basically below replacement births, to the point that it was anounced that they had so few babies, everyone else in 40 years replaced them.. from 80% to less than 50% in 50 years…

prior to feminism, that kind of extermination could only be due to overt genocide and plague…

the left will vote to take things away from the class that is evil, and responsible world wide for all the ills of everyone… and its not just the jews, its the people who saved them.. its the same as the southern racists saying you love X, you share the fate of x..

    demographics are key here…
and the women negated the men at home, and negated them in schooling, and negated them in protecting the homestead, and now…

    it will be hysterically funny…
in a cosmic great goof sort of way..

People Compare Obama to Chamberlain, so WaPo Defends Chamberlain

What Open Marriage Taught One Man About Feminism
    http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/07/what-open-marriage-taught-one-man-about-feminism.html

As I write this, my children are asleep in their room, Loretta Lynn is on the stereo, and my wife is out on a date with a man named Paulo. It’s her second date this week; her fourth this month so far. If it goes like the others, she’ll come home in the middle of the night, crawl into bed beside me, and tell me all about how she and Paulo had sex. I won’t explode with anger or seethe with resentment. I’ll tell her it’s a hot story and I’m glad she had fun. It’s hot because she’s excited, and I’m glad because I’m a feminist.

Before my wife started sleeping with other men, I certainly considered myself a feminist, but I really only understood it in the abstract. When I quit working to stay at home with the kids, I began to understand it on a whole new level. I am an economically dependent househusband coping with the withering drudgery of child-rearing.

but the REAL DEAL is the women in the military… you kill a man, and what remains can insure survival, you kill women, and whole branches of the future are exterminated…

dont have babies, dont have families, you lose..

    Feminism And Falling Birth Rates
    http://www.angryharry.com/Feminism-And-Falling-Birth-Rates.htm
    [edited for length by n-n]

  14. What seems to be happening is the federal government wants to regulate every aspect of our lives. It’s all about control for the left. We get a dose every few days.

What did you think some of us meant by “totalitarian” when that phrase was used so many years ago?

  15. Neo asks, “What does the hard left have in mind for America?”

Tyranny. Sold incrementally to their useful idiot liberal troops with the rationalization that, as the end justifies the means, whatever it takes to create utopia. No matter how many must be sacrificed upon the altar of their ideology.

IMO, wherein Ymarsakar goes astray is in being a bit premature. The hard left will not evidence tyranny beyond its sense of what it can get away with, so there will be no re-education camps or mass murders ‘before their time’. Assuming ever greater political dominance, that they are coming is indisputable.

That is because when political correctness is taken to its end state, as it is necessary to the very survival of the Socialistic State, eventually ALL thought, speech and behavior must be categorized as either forbidden or mandatory.

IMO, a good indication of the leading edge of the left’s cultural transformation was revealed by a New York Post article entitled “Brett Favre makes the ESPYs uncomfortable for everyone”

    An American Thinker article,
    “Bruce Jenner, Brett Favre, and the cultural totalitarians” points out the implications of this event;

“In a truly surreal display, NFL great Brett Favre is being denounced by the left’s new cultural commissars for not clapping long and hard enough at ESPN’s ESPY awards, as Bruce/“Caitlyn” Jenner received a “Courage” award for his efforts to become a woman. Oddly, Favre did applaud — not doing so would have been a grave heresy to America’s new church of progressive inquisitors. His sin was not applauding enthusiastically enough. [my emphasis]

The New York Post placed a video of Favre’s blasphemous insufficient clapping, juxtaposed with Jenner’s celebratory ascent to the stage. The video repeatedly replays Favre’s cruel, disgraceful, calloused political-ideological-cultural faux paus for the stunned amazement and universal condemnation of the New American masses. Yes, Mr. Favre, you’re guilty — we caught you on tape!

No, I’m not making this up. In the New America, not only must we accept transgenderism, but we must literally applaud it — and literally applaud it long, loud, and hard. And remember, Big Brother is watching you. [my emphasis] Well, Brett Favre didn’t, and now the left’s ministers of culture are relegating him to their progressive gulag.

Fast-forward to today, in the left’s New America: Brett Favre is criticized for not clapping long enough — amid a nervous hall of cowering athletes with make-believe enthusiasm on their faces, looking at each other with faint hope — in praise of Bruce Jenner’s attempt to be surgically reconstructed to appear as a woman. I suppose the Hall of Fame quarterback should consider himself lucky that our forces of “tolerance” and “diversity” didn’t consign him to Siberia for ten years of hard labor.

David Horowitz’s FrontPageMagazine has a slogan that says, “Inside every liberal is a totalitarian screaming to get out.”

However, our version of ‘Siberia’ has already begun with Firefox’s dismissal of their CEO and the Oregon baker couple’s $135,000 ‘fine’ for refusing to participate in a same-sex marriage ceremony.

But I can only partially agree with Horowitz. IMO it is NOT that all liberals secretly harbor totalitarian impulses. Rather it is that given both human nature and the operative laws of the universe within which we reside (specifically, Churchill’s “inequality of blessings”) totalitarianism is inherently and unavoidably necessary in attempting to achieve the socialistic utopia that liberals yearn for, a yearning that the hard core left uses as manipulation.

  16. So assuming that there’s a problem with women or control there of, in this country, what are people, like Art, going to do about it?

As in, what will they do the next time some feminists and their boy lovers, lock them in a closet as part of an office prank or power domination play?

  17. The hard left will not evidence tyranny beyond its sense of what it can get away with, so there will be no re-education camps or mass murders ‘before their time’.

The people will reap what they sow so long as they continue to ignore WACO and other examples of mass murder, as something unrelated to the Left’s tyranny. It is very related, but not in a way obvious to most of the average normals.

  18. Neo: “Note, also, Grathwoll’s mention of “Columbia” as a training ground for radicals.”

    Indeed.

By the same token, Columbia provides proof that “radical” tactics work against leftists.

I’ve cited this example before: the successful Columbia ROTC advocacy.

Related, also at Columbia, this example of successful activism against campus leftists at Columbia.

From a standpoint of beliefs, the example is distasteful because they clearly coopted the Left’s method. From a standpoint of effectiveness, though, the success of activism against campus leftists in the exemplary Left-dominated setting of Columbia is clearly demonstrated.

  19. if women dont change their minds en masse, nothing will happen, and even then, probably cant happen…

Barack and Valerie’s Great Communist Party Marriage
    http://www.academia.org/barack-and-valeries-great-communist-party-marriage/

“Theirs was the first ‘party marriage’ that I observed,” wrote Whittaker Chambers in Witness, describing the decidedly non-sacramental marriage of two of his Communist Party comrades, before writing of his own “party marriages.”

From Marx and Engels, to Herbert Marcuse and Wilhelm Reich, to Betty Friedan and Kate Millett, to Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, our comrades on the far left have bequeathed a legacy of noxious ideas on marriage and family.

obtained by FOIA request the FBI files of three crucial figures who formed Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s most intimate adviser. The three are Jarrett’s father, James Bowman, her father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, and her grandfather, Robert Rochon Taylor. Judicial Watch has posted these documents online, and I’ve suffered through them carefully with a mix of amazement, agony, and despair for what has happened in this country. They are at once disturbing and depressing, yet further confirmation that the most politically extreme individuals who once agitated and propagandized in our blessed country were able to place their political children as high as the White House in the 21st century.

the rest is amazing stuff if you had not kept up with things over the past 30 years… and by keeping up i mean what socialists/communists/fascists were doing..

    Map of Below-Replacement Fertility
    http://pop.org/sites/pop.org/files/images/stories/below_replacement_FINAL.JPG

Notice what group will be gone…
And notice that these are all the most feminist places

usatoday: As U.S. birth rate drops, concern for the future mounts

wall street journal: America’s Baby Bust
The nation’s falling fertility rate is the root cause of many of our problems. And it’s only getting worse.

Census: White majority in U.S. gone by 2043
    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/13/18934111-census-white-majority-in-us-gone-by-2043

ie,. the majority is the living baby boom which occured because women did not die in battle, and the men that came back could have babies with them… but now, thats not the case.

For the first time in more than a century, the number of deaths now exceeds births among white Americans. This “natural decrease” occurred several years before the government’s original projection, a sign of the white population decline soon to arrive. For now, the white population is still increasing slightly, due to immigration from Europe.

About 353 of the nation’s 3,143 counties, or 11 percent, are now “majority-minority.”

these are the last voting days of the feminists, as they will become as irrelevent to the dems as antibellum white men who ran plantations…

they divide the votes that would halt this

they have taken the jobs, and traded their chidren to have that, and call working for the state, and welfare, goodness.

they have increased deseases, deaths, rapes, and all manner of vile things from a level not worth measuring to dominating figures. before them, you could go window shopping at night walking with your partner, now, you cant see anything through the metal grates

they have alienated their mates so much, that they write endless articles as to where the good men are, what can they do to find one, can we freeze our eggs till we do, and on and on.

    GAME OVER…

  20. Ymarsakar Says: July 21st, 2015 at 4:35 pm

So assuming that there’s a problem with women or control there of, in this country, what are people, like Art, going to do about it?

not a damn thing… the took away my schooling so i had to be homeless to get my degree, now i am priveleged..

wacko took my son away and used the system to create a crazy thing in which i nearly went to prison for a dead person that to this day 30 years later is still not dead

my son quit honors in genetics to enter the military as no phd program wanted his kind, and wanted to look good helping the favored.

    so nothing..
i been fighting this since the late 1970s.

so what did i do? accidently found a wonderful woman who we wanted to have kids. but alas, the feminist academia i work for has tortured me till i had a stroke, to which the law said i had no rights, to which i still work for and have been here for 10 years… right now they are trying to hire some h1b visas at $40,000 more than i make now.. which is not much above entry, but i cant get work…

the woman i married is asian/indonesian. this was not by design, but once we got together, we were like glue. she is nice, kind, and so on, and i can be too. her family and mine get along really well… college educated, not nutters like western women (including those who dont behave nuts, but defend nuts), and we are making a life.

if things go south, i can leave to another country and have citizenship there with a huge family that welcomes me

    your on your own Ymarsakar

i gave up long ago after the stroke
    and nothig can be done..
the ladies will have their way
even if its driving off a cliff like thelma and louise
and they have nothign to trade to get their way
after all, hookup culture negates any of that

besides. the best guys and smartest ones that were not bad enough for western women have been poached by others.

    good luck!

  21. not a damn thing… the took away my schooling so i had to be homeless to get my degree, now i am priveleged..

Okay, so what do you expect us to do about it?

Since you have knowledge, but couldn’t use it to get any practical benefit, what is the point of reading Sun Tzu’s Art of War if it failed to make you into a successful warrior? Maybe that’s the wrong question, if so, then I’ll go back to the first question.

if things go south, i can leave to another country and have citizenship there with a huge family that welcomes me

You may not realize this, but I’m using a Chinese strategy here. Illumination of the target position to discern weaknesses and strengths. Fire trick.

I’ll refer these self admitted passages of yours later on, if you start talking about what Neo Neo needs to do about X, Y, or Z.

    your on your own Ymarsakar

That’s fine. The individuals that existed in the past, always had to do things on their own, one way or another. But of course, that is why they were above the masses.

However, since you may not be able to discern the implications here, that means that people who fight against the odds, have no need or desire to be lectured by their inferiors.

  22. The Winnowing continues: I just had the following exchange with a Northeastern “journalist” I’ve known for 25 years (socially; been to her house for Thanksgiving more than once, etc.).

I sent her an email from the Navy SEALS protesting Obama’s failure to even ASK for the release of our men in Iran, while releasing to Them one of their top nuclear scientists. I’ll grant you the heading was provocative: “Obama released top Iranian scientist as part of nuke deal; left Americans to rot in hell.”

    This was her reply:

Please don’t pass this stuff on to me. Its blatant propaganda, meant to stir up the kneejerkers. Negotiations are just that. This is inflammatory rhetoric, out of context and not true.

And Obama is still black. Get over it.

I sent a stinging rebuke, one line, which I’m sure she didn’t read (“WTF does this have to do with race??”), and unfriended her on faceplant (a first for me). She had also posted a vilely bigoted rant against the Entire South for the church shootings in Charleston, and I’d reacted sharply to that, too, protesting that it was unfair to slander an entire region of millions of innocent people for the acts of one evil man, but she swatted that aside, also.

This, ladies and gents, is what passes for a journalist in the NY Metro area. Bigoted and boiling with anger, lashing out even at old friends.

And they really seem to have convinced themselves that he can’t possibly do ANYTHING WRONG, because he’s a black man! This is insanity. Sheer insanity.

I’m beyond upset. The old compact of agreeing to disagree is being fed to the bonfires. “Fahrenheit 451,” anybody?

  23. So, along with the other destruction the vile Obama and the vile left have wrought is the torching of friendships from coast to coast.

  24. Ymarsakar you were being an idiot, and i answered as such to you similarly.. as you deserve.

hows this, i was one of the founders of MGTOW…
back when it was part of Mancoat forum
i wrote articles for years and tried to ring the bell, and was published…

so what did YOU do to give you the right to question me?
    I helped start a movement… and you?

stop being a shit… or is that your true nature?
seems to be… but nows your chance to show otherwise. cmon, you can do it, you can be a real person instead of a cutout..

  25. Ymarsakar, neo doesnt need you to stick up for her, or havent you noticed my posts go back 10 years or so? duh… idjits like you have gone and come and stirred up trouble and continue to do so…

knock yourself out… go ahead, go through 10 years of daily posts and read… you remind me of Huxley… and a few others…

  26. This, ladies and gents, is what passes for a journalist in the NY Metro area. Bigoted and boiling with anger, lashing out even at old friends

that was a person you thought was a friend, but was not a friend… and thats the point of the left, and why they would betray their own… they turn on their own, fight among their own, and play games… its always the case. they cant even control themselves among common ground. sore winners, sore losers, and just sore about everything. malcontents.

just look at yarmarskar, he gets sore i am upset that such kooks have affectd my life and thinks he has the right to comment on things he assumes and then threatens me with my past posts, and makes it his job to cause discord and with an air of mysterious superiority… a poseur… but he lets his mask slip from time to time

as i point out, they are not friends with anyone..
no one who is a real friend behaves that way to the other person that they associate with. at best, aquantances masquerading as friends. good thing you found out over trivialities, and not over something that might mean something negative to yourself or family.

of course, these people also make no mistakes, are never fooled, conned etc, and dont get it… no loss..

  27. and I’d reacted sharply to that, too, protesting that it was unfair to slander an entire region of millions of innocent people for the acts of one evil man, but she swatted that aside, also.

Defending yourself may work against your allies. It does not work against enemies. Attack them, rip them apart from the inside out, that is the effective way. Turning into a turtle and using “facts” to debate your innocence, already accrues to them too much legitimacy and authority they deserve not.

    https://ymarsakar.wordpress.com/2015/07/18/counter-revolutionary-methods-against-the-left/

Occam’s Beard comments I highlighted there, should be a good guideline. It’s not easy to use if you aren’t used to it.

    To Art

Ymarsakar, neo doesnt need you to stick up for her, or havent you noticed my posts go back 10 years or so?

10 years? You think this length of time means, what exactly?

Ymarsakar you were being an idiot, and i answered as such to you similarly.. as you deserve.

Why is asking questions being an idiot? Do you understand that when you answer my questions, you don’t have the tactical or strategic competence to realize what’s going on in this chess game to begin with?

  28. Beverly:

    The fix is in.

Iran releases the four Americans during the Senate debate.

Wolf on CNN gets the exclusive. Fanfare!

Schumer (Chuck, not Amy) takes to the floor and thanks Barack. He then backs the deal.

They take us for idiots. And we are.

  29. Please don’t pass this stuff on to me. Its blatant propaganda, meant to stir up the kneejerkers. Negotiations are just that. This is inflammatory rhetoric, out of context and not true.

And Obama is still black. Get over it.

Clarence Thomas is still black, get over it, zombie.

Sarah Palin is still a woman, get over it.

Of course, that’s not the game OB was talking about, but it is fighting back at a more even keel level than merely defending yourself.

The point is to strike back, to make them hurt. To not allow their “propaganda defenses” to activate. Hit them hard, hit them constantly, and hit them continuously before they regenerate. A Leftist zombie will withdraw from the argument if they lack the zombie horde numbers or are faced with an attack far beyond what they were programmed to deal with, saying “I don’t want to talk about it any more”. That’s the moment when you know their defenses are broken.

  30. Huxleyanism only works while times are good. Starvation, war and pestilence tend to make people irritable, and there’s no “Soma” to make that go away.
If the economy tanks, it’ll quickly degenerate into Animal Farm.
Machiavelli figured out long ago that it’s easier to be feared than loved.

  31. }}} And Neoneocon treats you with respect? I’ve had it with this site even as I agree with many of the articles and positions taken here. If this is the company one must endure, it is not worth it.

Hey, don’t let the door hit your dumb ass on the way out. Might damage what few brain cells you still have.

Sorry, no, not concerned. No respect for anyone who takes that attitude regarding one post by one person, particularly one person who isn’t the blog author. Even if Ymar IS a loonie toon, and ALL his posts were as off as the one he’s taking issue with (note that the above is framed entirely in hypotheticals), it still doesn’t justify “leaving” a site.

For me to leave a site I frequent, one of several things has to happen:

    1) The author has to censor me when I’ve said nothing offensive (This is why I refuse to visit Popehat any longer).

Yes, that’s about it. I’ve never had it happen since about 2000, but I’ve “left” other places (not blogs, listserves) when a group directly and personally attacked me without ever addressing issues, and no one else came to my defence.

I don’t care about Chuck’s opinions. He has no sense of proportion. I think Ymar’s being definitely a bit paranoid with what he said, there, but that just says to me not to take Ymar that seriously in future discussions, esp. if I see more of that. It doesn’t tell me the author of the blog is unreliable in any way, nor that other commenters are.

So, good riddance. I’d rather listen to Ymar than a twatwaffle like Chuck.

  32. Will Obama murder? Not sure he has to since he’s so good at setting up situations in others do the murdering for him. So many people have died thanks to Obama, including:
    – Hundreds by cartels using the Fast & Furious guns
    – Thousands of soldiers because of his restrictive ROE
    – Unknown number hurt and injured by violent illegal immigrants because of his open borders and relaxed ICE rules
    – Unknown number of babies thanks to HHS birth control/abortion mandate and support for PP
    – Unknown number injured and killed thanks to his administrations work in inflaming racial riots
    – Unknown number in the ME who have perished at the hands of ISIS thanks to Obama pulling out of Iraq and refusing to stomp out ISIS early

    And so on.
It’s the Obama way: leave no fingerprints, claim that no one is more surprised or angry, blah blah blah.

Your post also reminded me of an American Thinker post last summer called “Importing Revolution.” It was written in response to open borders, but it also applies to what he’s doing via HUD’s new neighborhood racial integration plans:

“One sign of an imperial government is that it does what it wishes with whole populations. It can shift some here; move some there…

The motives behind moving whole populations via executive fiat break down into two main categories. One is to prevent revolution and unrest by moving and quarantining what are considered indigestible peoples in order to weaken their resistance to the powers that be…

But there is a second reason for moving people around, and that is to foster revolution by actively promoting unrest. The goal is to achieve “fundamental transformation” of a country by tearing down existing structures, replacing them with a new order of government.

If things ever escalate to widespread violence it will be because Obama has imported it, fomented it, and/or worked behind the scenes (as he did in Ferguson and Baltimore) to have the authorities hold back from nipping it at the bud (thus allowing it to get out of control).

  33. I remember reading in the early ’90’s a defense by social democracy against socialist revolution. The argument went that while social democracy was limited by democratic opposition in how far it could go, it was far more likely to achieve most of socialism’s ends than was violent revolution. Revolution/ political violence was observed to fail or fall far short of socialist theoretical goals by the mid 1970s. So pragmatic socialists turned to achieving as much as they could through the existing state, through electoral politics and the long march through the institutions.

  34. The US will eventually get a tyrant via election. That is the most likely outcome.

  35. “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”― H.L. Mencken

  36. And still not one major figure, no candidate, congressman or even celebrity has uttered the word traitor to describe Obama. Everyone knows it, everyone seems afraid to state it.

BTW Cornhead the 2016 election is over. Go to 270towin and try and find a way for the Republicans to win now that Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Nevada and Iowa are blue. Remember most sheeople vote on the basis of ego (self-esteem) and peer pressure. The fact that one candidate wants to save democracy and the other is indifferent or wants to undermine it is not a major concern for most voters.

  37. I am NOT “The Other Chuck.” We only have a name in common. But, I do have this to say in response to his intentions of not commenting here again (read with your best Yoda voice):

    Don’t say. Do!

Neo, you haven’t “lost” it. And, you certainly don’t need me or anyone else telling you that. As someone who has viewed the world from both a left and right perspective I think you’ve “found” it better than most of us have.

Further more, I find it quite refreshing that you do NOT censor comments (or if you do I’m not aware of it) that clearly disagree with your original post. Thank you!

  38. All they can do is kill you and your’s. They can not take the liberty that lives in your mind/spirit. One day they may learn this simple truth from 15 million stubborn sobs. No quarter given, no prisoners taken.

  39. Brilliant synopsis neo …
“60s radicals such as Bill Ayers turned nearly the entire country’s educational system into one big re-education camp. And then there are the training programs that have become rather commonplace”
horrifyingly brilliant strategy, great perspicacity to notice and define it.

  40. Yancey Ward, 10:21 pm — “The US will eventually get a tyrant via election.”

    “**Eventually**”??

    [begin quote]
Take a look around you, boy, it’s bound to scare you, boy,
And you tell meeee, over and over and over again my friend,
How you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.”
    [close quote]

  41. Has anyone noticed that history is speeding up. The Soviet Empire came and went in an eyeblink. The US too, in six years went from an overwhelmingly powerful empire of trust to a third world banana republic.

  42. Bob from VA.

Nov 2016 is months away. HRC was supposed to beat BHO.

    Walker – Fiornia can win.

  43. Lizzy Says at 9:17 pm:
“Will Obama murder? Not sure he has to since he’s so good at setting up situations in others do the murdering for him.”

Excellent post. The killing has already begun and it will only accelerate as the left consolidates power. Someone else has already made the point that Hitler let other people do the killing for him. Stalin and Mao also used other people to do their killing for them.

  44. Yarmarskar Says Why is asking questions being an idiot? Do you understand that when you answer my questions, you don’t have the tactical or strategic competence to realize what’s going on in this chess game to begin with?

it should be clear to everyone that you are not discussing anything, but playing agit prop games in which everyone here has to think like they are in a war with the other persons that they are chatting with.

THATS what makes you a class one asshole and moron!!!! it has nothing to do with “strategic competence” when one has no declared a war against their friends, commenters, and people who show up.

having strategic purposes shows your not genuine, but ingenuous, and that your points are not representative of anything you believe, but what you think is tactically or strategically purposeful

and why is that? who are you fighting? what is the point of making enemies by doing that?

what do you want me to reveal? i have been honest and open about my life, which is not a tactical thing, its a openess thing. your at war with people, and thats fine, i just dont want to be at war with a moron who fights for no reason for no gain other than ill will.

in essence you reveal yourself to not have any substance and to have ulterior motives in your discussion, and should not be trusted given that you may be just saying what is tactical, strategic, pragmatic, and in your self interest, even if thats just masturbatory glee of trying to agitate others like a baby pushing a bowl to the floor does from a high chair.

and what does it mean to be here 10 years? it means that i outlast morons like you who are playing games with other people, and sociopathically trying to manipulate rather than any kind of positive end as you put.

needless to say, what you have said in the past cant be trusted or considered in any form, given its tactical and strategic nature and your insencerity as a matter of your normal discourse and behavior.

  45. Its easy to fight a war against people who are not fighting, or thinking of you as an enemy… thanks for revealing how you think of others… it was “tactically and strategically” stupid… everyone now should have your number… and that is your reputation now… my reputation as a long winded person who knows alot and has a bit of communication issues from having autism remains… and no, i never played the handicapped card to dip into the pot the way others play their sex, gender, color, religion, or even ideological position. everything i have or want i earn, and i dont take from others without recompense. i do not ask for special favors, but what i do want is no special hindrance, and the ability to run a fair race without a millstone on my neck because someone else is trying to hurt me to buy votes, competing dishonestly at my expense, my families expense, and even your expense in the long run…

  46. That’s the moment when you know their defenses are broken.

live is not a video game and i have no desire to hurt my family by doing things that derive from zombie movies, video games, and not real life. being around a half century you kind of learn what fights to fight and what to do, and how many idiots out there will talk a talk to get YOU to act so that they can benefit without risk. its called “using people”, and thats why your wrong yarmarskar. your wrong because your calling for a uncivil civil war, personal debasement into the amoral area of the opposition, and somehow think that after that, you could return to a life you wanted before you started that path.

    sorry… no go…

your coming to the party 40 years late and 35 years after i got onto the front lines… this old soldier is fading away, past the prime of this outcome, and there isnt enough life ahead to worry much about it…

there is no one to “hit” in this game as its a game of minds not material, a game of who controls mental inputs and a game of shaming, and lies, and all that… its not a physical fight where you can “hit” them, its not even a fight in the traditional sense as your just blowing smoke out your arse trying to fight the civil war that is over, like some old southerner who thinks they can start it all up in 1890.

demographically, no matter what anyone does, there is nothing they can do… there is absolutely no way to inform, change minds of, and replace what is already lost. the time for that has passed a long long time ago.

in this game, you wake up after its over, not while its on…

  47. The fall of America will be studied for its lack of dramatis personé¦ to organize and be resisted. Instead thousands of ordinary people worked for decades and will continue to work for decades until liberty and prosperity are destroyed, all the while blaming their opponents for the suffering they cause.

Not the fate I wanted for America, but there it is.

The camps and the massacres will come. That can’t be help. Human nature has not changed, but for now it will not be as dramatic as the French, German, or Russia revolutions.

  48. “No, the Reign of Terror happens afterwards, sometimes a substantial number of years afterwards. ”
When Stalin came to power he didn’t order the immediate execution of the old Bolsheviks’. He waited until 1934 to start the purges.

  49. He waited until 1934 to start the purges.

About the Great Purge, Leo Strauss remarked briefly in the course of his lecture “Why We Remain Jews”:

I would like to discuss this. This objection. It is not essential to Communism to be anti-Jewish. I would say it is very un-Communistic to seek for the essence of Communism outside of what they call the Historic reality of Communism, in a mere ideal or aspiration. Trotsky’s Communism, which was different, which was surely not anti-Jewish in this sense, has been refuted by his highest authority: History. And the Trotskyite is, I mean, a living — not only contradiction — but manifest contradiction. There is no longer a Western revolutionary proletariat, to put it on a somewhat broader basis, and that settles this issue perfectly. Only thanks to Stalin could the Communist revolution survive. Stalin was a wiser statesman from this point of view than Trotsky and to some extent than Lenin, by demanding socialism in a single country. Only thanks to Stalin could Communist revolution survive Hitler. But in order to survive Hitler, Stalin had to learn from Hitler.

That is always so: in order to defeat an enemy you have to take a leaf from his book. Stalin learned two grave lessons from Hitler: the first, which has nothing directly to do with our issue but should be mentioned is that bloody purges of fellow revolutionaries are not only possible, but eminently helpful. The old Communist theory as you surely know was “no repetition of the bad experiences of the French Revolution where the revolution eats its own children”. Under no circumstances. And then Hitler showed by his classic act against Ré¶hm that this can be done and that it makes governing much easier. So, number one. The big Stalin purges were all afterward.

Secondly, and here I come back to our immediate subject, in pre-First World War Socialism, where the distinction between Bolshevism and Menshevism was not so visible, at least not in the Western countries, it was an axiom, I quote “Anti-Semitism is the socialism of the fools” unquote, and therefore incompatible with intelligent socialism. But again, Hitler showed something. And I think that one can state the lesson which Hitler gave to Stalin very simply as follows: the fact that anti-semitism is the socialism of the fools is an argument not against but for anti-semitism, given the fact that there is such an abundance of fools. Why should one not steal that very profitable thunder? Of course one must not become like the great fool Hitler, a prisoner of these things, so that you see nothing but anti-Jewish things, that is absurd! But, judiciously used, you know, judiciously used, politically used, anti-Jewish policies make governing Russians and Ukrainians and so on and so on, much easier, than uh, if one would be really strictly fair to Jews. I do not have to point out the obvious fact that we must think not only of the Russians and Ukrainians, but also of the Arabs! And everyone can easily see that there are many more Arabs in the world than there are Jews. I mean a sober statesman for whom the end sanctifies every means has no choice.

Eh, Krushchev, I think one can say, abandoned lesson number one, regarding the desirability and usefulness of bloody purges of fellow party members — for the time being, let me add — but he surely kept lesson B. And it is here, has come to stay. I draw a conclusion for the time being: it is impossible not to remain a Jew. It is impossible to run away from one’s origins. It is impossible to get rid of one’s past by wishing it away. There is nothing better than the un-easy solution offered by liberal society. Which means: legal equality, plus private ‘ discrimination ‘. We must simply recognize the fact which we all know, that the Jewish minority is not universally popular, and the consequences which follow from that. We all know that there is in this country an entirely extra-legal but not illegal what we can call racial hierarchy coming down from the Anglo-Saxons down to the negroes and we are just above the negroes. We must face that. And we must see that there is a similarity between the Jewish and the Negro question, but we– and there are quite a few Jewish organizations which are very well aware of it, but also, in order to keep the record straight, we must not forget the difference. When we fight, we Jews fight, for something which we may generally call justice, we appeal to principles, ultimately, which, if I may say so, were our own. Bible. When the Negroes fight for justice, they have to appeal to principles which were not their own (their ancestors’ in Africa) but which they learned from their oppressors. This is a not altogether negligible difference, which should however, be stated by someone who doesn’t want to beat around the bush.

  50. sdferr:

    That’s a truly fascinating excerpt.

I disagree, though, that Stalin had to learn all that much from Hitler. Hitler’s example may indeed have helped him pick up steam with his murders, but the seeds of using violence to intimidate were already present with Lenin. However, the use of violence against political rivals and political dissenters (which is more the subject of the Strauss quote and which did reach a peak in the later 30s, after he’d seen the example set by Hitler in the Night of the Long Knives), was also already underway before Hitler.

I don’t have time to go into it in great depth now, but see this for a somewhat earlier origin, and also this.

  51. It is of little matter to me what trivialities Strauss (who lived through these events and watched and judged them very carefully I believe) chose to leave aside in the course of his brief remarks. He would not, I’m fairly certain, dispute any of the facts we or others might dredge up which may in appearance seem to dismiss his point, but would most probably insist on the point he seeks to make by means of further specification and discussion as to the particulars. But I’ll leave it at that.

  52. sdferr:

The reason I don’t think it’s a triviality is this–

I think Strauss makes some good points, and as I said the quote is “truly fascinating.” I don’t doubt that Stalin probably learned from Hitler. But the reason I took the trouble to make the point I did is that sometimes people (not you or Strauss; others) try to make excuses for Communism in various ways, and one of those ways is to say that Stalin was unique in his devotion to violence—-that the seeds of the violence and that attitude are not inherent in Communism and were not present before.

I brought up the Lenin quote, and the earlier Stalin violence against both kulaks and his political rivals, for that reason: to show that Stalin didn’t need Hitler to give him the idea. The idea was inherent in the Leftist way.

I believe that point to be a very un-trivial one. I thought it was implicit in what I wrote, but I realize it was not obvious, so I’m making it more clear here.

  53. Well enough, to the extent that you choose to address matters Strauss did not. Good for those who learn from that as well.

We could perhaps look for more direct speech from Strauss regarding the use of violence in Communism, but I confess nothing in particular jumps to mind. However, I don’t for a moment suppose Strauss never spoke of it. Just that my own knowledge falls short.

  54. sdferr:

I’m unfamiliar with Strauss’ work except in very general terms. He’s one of very many thinkers whose writing I would like to read more of, but I have so much trouble finding the time.

But I brought my point up because the propensity of the left for violence, and its willingness to use it, was the main topic of the post.

  55. I can vouch, I think, he’s worth the terrible trouble getting to know. Even if only for encountering Alan Bloom’s greatest teacher.

  56. it should be clear to everyone that you are not discussing anything, but playing agit prop games in which everyone here has to think like they are in a war with the other persons that they are chatting with.

Given the amount of text and links you’ve linked (few to none of them concerning your own “founder’s history” comments and work) about feminism and other source issues, you think we aren’t at war?

Are you sure you thought you were discussing feminism, or were you just lecturing people that they were at war with feminism?

While not everyone is in conflict with everyone… yet, you are definitely in conflict with the Left, or have you forgotten what feminists in academia did to you?

having strategic purposes shows your not genuine, but ingenuous, and that your points are not representative of anything you believe, but what you think is tactically or strategically purposeful

and why is that? who are you fighting? what is the point of making enemies by doing that?

What’s the point of putting into practice things I’ve read in books like Sun Tzu’s Art of War? Btw, I mention that title not to be pedantic but because it was the original disagreement between Art and me concerning whether one can become a master military warrior genius by reading somebody else’s book. So, the point of putting things into practice that I’ve read is that if I don’t, it is merely theoretical knowledge of which I am less than a jack in and thus can’t really say much about it good or bad. To criticize a warrior or general, one must have more than the mere requirement of abstract and theoretical knowledge. Some experience in practical applications is warranted. And as such, if I speak of conflict in the world, I demonstrate more than merely what I’ve read about the theory of Jihad or conflict.

Since you’re not convinced by logical arguments, probably cause Asberger’s makes your rationality too narrow, I prefer to demonstrate my arguments via a demonstration, rather than rhetoric arguments or debate.

live is not a video game and i have no desire to hurt my family by doing things that derive from zombie movies, video games, and not real life.

Violence comes in two flavors: physical and verbal. Just as the Left has used a combination and gotten away with it, it is still a potent source of power and tool use. And of course the Left isn’t bashing you in like a zombie. They’re the zombies after all. The Leftists pick on you because you’re weak, because you’re all talk and that talk isn’t even verbal violence. You have no force behind your spine, thus they think they can walk all over you. Of course, the West is also weak perhaps precisely because it prioritizes technocratic merits over violence. It’s nice to be a technocrat and use math and science to land some probe on Mars, but if the feminists can use violence to pound you into publicly apologizing while in tears on tv… well, we know who the real masters are.

People who refrain from exterminating the Leftists, even the ones that get in their face and give them an excuse to, have no right or authority to lecture others like Neo about what she should or shouldn’t be doing concerning the Left. A person that grew up with Asbergers and used that excuse as a crutch all his life, one that grew up around Leftists and feminists… won’t understand what masculine virtue or the foundations of Western strength. It’s something besides mere IQ or intellect. Having a spine is a good thing.

Real life is full of violence. The West will learn that soon enough. Whether they like it or not.

your wrong because your calling for a uncivil civil war, personal debasement into the amoral area of the opposition, and somehow think that after that, you could return to a life you wanted before you started that path.

You plan on ditching the boat if it gets bad. Who are you to lecture any of us that remain behind? This is like the general lecturing the vanguard about the duty and honor of maintaining the rules of engagement, while the general is hauling ass out of the front entirely and using the ROE to shield himself by expending allied corpses.

  57. On the topic of tyrants and purges, I run experiments to ascertain human reactions on that every once in awhile. It usually goes something like this.

25% either cannot understand the argument, rhetoric, and points made or don’t want to.

There’s 3% at the top that figured it out on their own. There’s a statistical majority that will hop on the bandwagon after it gets “popular” to call X a tyrant or traitor. Before then, they were part of consensus agreeing about the crackpots.

Between those groups, there’s people who want to believe but don’t, there’s people who don’t want to believe and thus do not believe, and then there’s people sitting on the fence for awhile.

A relatively random check of internet reactions in 2008, would have a certain percentage of people who called Hussein a traitor or a tyrant. Almost 0.1%. As time goes by, it grows. And the middle majority suddenly hop on the bandwagon, even though they were silently disagreeing along with most other people, only a few years ago.

So in that sense, public reactions modify themselves. I don’t actually think people changed their thinking on the issues. They just obey whatever society tells them to think. Or they’re afraid of being labeled a paranoid minority, so they’ve kept their mouths shut until somebody else more reckless gets up and pokes the minefield.

People make all kinds of rationalizations as they did about Ft. Hood 1 being somebody else;s fault due to lack of diversity.

In summary, weaklings will rationalize their obedience to Propaganda A because they think “most other people think this way, so I might as well cause the nail that stands out gets hammered flat”. Those who are open more difficult concerns and challenges, may be able to figure it out themselves like the 3%, or they may merely hold their hards to their chest long enough to decide later when more information presents themselves. But they still contribute to the idea that the majority believes in propaganda A. After awhile, when the majority’s views are shifted into rejecting Propaganda A and adopting Propaganda Z, the majority will have a collective amnesia even and rationalize why it’s correct to believe in Z now. The detractors of A were crackpots and paranoids, back when A was popular. When Z becomes popular, the detractors of Z become the crackpots and paranoids.

People don’t use reason or logic. What they use are rationalizations designed to justify their emotional desires to believe in whatever they want to believe in.

  58. Eric@ 4:40 PM:

In the spring of 1972 me and a friend at Columbia organized successful campus-wide opposition to the leftist takeover of campus.

It was a fascinating, wonderful David/Goliath story which, naturally, has never been documented (lol …. other then my scrap book) because … you know why.

We truly defeated them by gathering and uniting folks of all different views. And we defeated them.

Although I already knew about the left and their tactics, this intense experience was eye-opening in a dramatic way. For one thing, the well-developed propaganda tactics were amazing on their part.

But I also learned firsthand they are bullies, cowards and haters. The leftist enterprise is very much a narcissist/ego driven one.

They are vulnerable on that score, but the non-left is no where near recognizing that fact, let alone exploiting it (although Ace of Spades is utterly brilliant in this respect).

Wish I was not so busy, there are several great neo recently posts and comment threads which need careful reading.

PS, I enjoyed the Other Chuck and wish OC would not stop commenting. If you see this, OC, please reconsider.

  59. Oh, and Y, if you happen to come back here, I want you to know that part of the success in 1972 was a tactical physical confrontation (one of several) where the leftists ran away and we tore down a viet cong flag (resulting in a funny consequence which I do not have time to tell).

  60. I am reading it now. That’s good to know, of course it isn’t enough to satisfy the vengeance or the spirits of the dead in and of itself. It’s something nice to spit in the eye of the oppressors, however.

  61. Tonawanda: “It was a fascinating, wonderful David/Goliath story which, naturally, has never been documented (lol …. other then my scrap book) … They are vulnerable on that score, but the non-left is no where near recognizing that fact, let alone exploiting it”

The frustrating thing is, the vulnerability of the Left is exploitable. The Left is beatable in the activist game.

Yet the Right falls behind because they doggedly refuse to play the activist game even while recognizing and decrying the gains made by the Left in the activist game. For the exceptional few of the Right (or at least anti-Left) who do play and win, the progress isn’t comprehensive and sustained.

We may have discussed this before because it sounds familiar to me, but whether or not we have, I urge (again) that you make your recollections and lessons that you learned about the Left at Columbia – and most importantly, what you learned about effectively countering the Left at Columbia – a public record for practical instruction.

Successful examples and Why and How-To instruction are timely and needed. It’s been needed for a long time.

  62. @Tonawanda, thanks for the invite back and kind words. However, libertarian and neoconservative thought is in conflict and it’s too bad because we are basically on the same side. I should continue commenting here if only to bug that gentleman of leisure, Mr. Vanderleun. As to Y, he’s not worth the bother.

  63. Huxley versus Orwell? WHO was the better seer of our future? I’m sure a revisiting (or reposting) may be in order, come pre-primary election season of this fall.

I haven’t been into Huxley for almost eons. For some reason, my old shrink favored “Eyeless in Gaza.” Perhaps years later I mentioned this recommendation to her, and she had forgotten why she made that particular recommendation; germane to her status as an immigrant Italian (Jew) by way of Israel, perhaps? Or was she tracking the fear and threats that neo does too?

    I don’t know.

Wikipedia tells us that “Brave New World” was conceived in the early ’30s by Huxley as a parody and riposte to socialist novelist H G Wells’ optimism. Interestingly, this was during the same years that Jonah Goldberg pulled Wells label for the future he welcomed, namely “Liberal Fascism” – the title to the formers’ essential revisionist history of the American Left’s envy for centralized control.

    Points to our host, neo!

However – my problem with “Brave New World” is that it conceived of the ease of manipulating biological destiny through genetic engineering.

But nature has proved far more difficult to control and master. Genetic control of people is far more difficult to divine than Huxley imagined.

Thus, this counts against Huxley, I think; instead this counts towards Orwell’s emphasis on the political use of language, education and propaganda to control the masses.

Furthermore, Huxley was repelled by the rampant individualism he saw upon visiting the United States, which informs “Brave New World.”

By contrast, after the Great Depression hit the UK, he also conceived the primary threat coming from chaos and the public need for order. He thought that people would love those providing public order above their freedoms.

The latter two points suggest a European versus US division of perception of mass political motives which leaders can use.

Finally, too much can be made of “soma” – the hallucinogenic that pacifies an otherwise rebellious populace.

The obvious line is from anti-depressants and anti-antiety medications to legal marijuana. And the future, more and more like Brave New World?

But this neglects alcohol – the millennial long universal medicine, for physical pain as well as emotional ailments.

The argument becomes we’ve traded one bad drug for the lure of “better” one’s lacking in harmful consequences. And we wind up with an anti-technology argument too parallel with the Catholic rejection anesthesiology because it offends natural theology and God’s Will, requiring that we are meant to suffer here, for the sake of our “ennoblement” for the next world.

Truly, this is an intellectual divide worth revisiting and rethinking. Because eighty years later, this remains is a lively dispute.

  64. @ Cornhead: “He then teaches at a third rate state school.”

How is UIC third-rate? Granted it isn’t well-ranked, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it “third-rate.”
