John Hinderaker on the plight of the unarmed perpetrator — 35 Comments

  1. One of the 18 police officers killed this year was a brand new mother and Omaha police officer. She was on a team to arrest a fugitve felon and gang member when she was murdered.

Luckily one of her partners killed the guy.

Biggest funeral EVER in Omaha. St. John’s at Creighton was full and it was broadcast live to remote sites. Miles long funeral possession. People were crushed.

  2. The use of the term “unarmed” implies that the cops are obliged to engage in a fist fight and/or foot race with a young buck. Given that lots of cops are older, women, and/or over weight that would end badly for cops. Maybe that is the objective.

As the Milwaukee sheriff has pointed out, once you begin to resist arrest, you are going to a dark place.

  3. “The use of the term “unarmed” implies that the cops are obliged to engage in a fist fight and/or foot race with a young buck.”

    Might Makes Right.
    Snitches Get Stitches.

  4. If they put their hands up, they are not going to get shot.

They’re still going to shoot you if they know they can get away with it. And most of them, can, if they have a union backing them. Lawyers won’t protect you from that.

  5. Black Lives Matter to those for whom Narrative is more important than the loss of those lives.

  6. They’re still going to shoot you if they know they can get away with it. And most of them, can, if they have a union backing them. Lawyers won’t protect you from that.

    They will shoot you!
I have a plethora of bookmarks about nasty cops shooting or beatings. Some are truly depressing so I won’t post.
Sometimes they like to … search.
Searched by chicks cops b-t-w, front & back without changing gloves.
    Here: Bikini. Inhuman.

This said, Néo is right in this post, the violent propensity of cops is being used for revolutionary purposes … kamikaze by cops.

  7. Inside the craziness is a method: “A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.” -Lenin.

What appalls those not infected by PC-virus is that the media has become the Marxist’s servants, yet Trump exemplifies how to nuetralize it.

I believe FNC highlighted a researcher last spring from Bowling Green State University who found that “bad shoots” of blacks were about four per year. (As against cop killings of 125 to 145 per year.)

These were mostly disclosed by police partners ratting out the murderers. The only new wrinkle in the past year is that some have been videoed by cell-cams.

(Which itself is odd, if only because we’ve had such devices for over a decade; shouldn’t there be more of this evidence from past years? Or is cheap, large storage and use of digital recording only showing such horrors recently because of larger capacity and cheaper, better phones make filming more ubiquitous?)

At any rate, on other grounds, experts say police abuse of the public in encounters is generally lower.

This all plays into Alinskyite chaos and agitation – fun and profit for fascist government, as we here all know.

All of these considerations ought to be off-set by the devious genius of Trump’s narcissistic ego-centricsm: like a Jester, he can say the fobidden before the Court (of public opinion) – and get away with it! The RINOs and conventional pols WOULD be shamed by the charges levied against Trump.

TO illustrate, twice today (at least – I missed most of his show), Rush set up a brilliant “reverse the tables” joke, Megyn Kelly loaded question of Trump re-imagined as an info babe who questions Hillary at a Dem debate.

(I’ve tried searching up a post of Rush’s LOL joke – and I’m going to fail to do justice to it…please bear with me and let me try.)

“Madame Secretary Clinton: you tell us that you will defend family values.

“Now consider Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Monica Lewinsky, and Juanita Broaddrick…(etc). Since it takes a village to gratify your husband’s needs, will you tell us how you will do this?”

Again, rhetorically speaking, how does Trump get away with it? I think today Sean Hannity pointed to how it’s possible in Trumps own words, using a cut from a CNN interview by Chris Cuomo.

“I do whine because I want to win and I’m not happy about not winning and I am a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win.” It’s how he softens and invitingly includes others to identify with his veiled anger.

Trumps whining is his emotive technique that cancels the PC-shaming of the Left. It neutralizes the narrative of moral superiority pervading the ruling class and it’s media supplicants.

Furthermore, today Rush speculates that people Right and Left are now attempting to emulate Trump to activate their political POVs.

  8. A further thought: whining…. This means that (narcissistic) passive aggression neutralizes PC-shaming?

I guess that’s what I’m claiming. Who else here will help me articulate this insight more deeply?

  9. USA Today ran a big story yesterday on “unarmed men” killed by cops since poor little Michael Brown. Names, dates, locations. Of course, no mention of what crimes these dudes were committing. I saw it at a coffee shop, would never buy that crap.

Reminds me of the brouhaha in response to the shooting of Cecil, “the beloved lion.” A lot of the complaints had to do with the unfairness of hunting, the inequality of resources of one killer (man) against the other (lion). Hunters use rifles! Unfair! They should use knives! So cops should not use disproportionate force.
We have seen the same illogic used about Israeli force; it’s unfair! Hamas should have the same weapons!

The anti-cop, pro-black thug meme is intended to keep blacks agitated enough to turn out to vote for whichever totalitarian socialist the Dems nominate. It will be a long, long time before “disproportionate” leaves our political scene. Apparently the ignorati take comfort in this rude mathematical concept.

  10. When I was growing up, as a white kid, I was taught that you do not argue with a Cop; regardless of the circumstance. The only acceptable response, was “yes sir”. If there was a misunderstanding, or disagreement, it could be sorted out later.

Of course we were taught a number of lessons about how to conduct ourselves in every day life that stood us in good stead, but are seemingly outdated.

  11. Back to Hinderaker.

The whole violent Ferguson redux is undoubtably orchestrated by Soros’ monies.

I believe a FOIA effort (Judicial Watch?) showed this was true for last summer’s violence; the money amounted to millions, and $50K per activist. (A quick search of my files fails to generated a reference to document my claim, however.)

Ah! Google success – “soros ferguson activists” gets lots of useful hits.

Here’s top one from January: “George Soros funds Ferguson protests, hopes to spur civil action;Liberal billionaire gave at least $33 million in one year to groups that emboldened activists”

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/14/george-soros-funds-ferguson-protests-hopes-to-spur/?page=all

  12. “Officers are not required to be martyrs, although the left would like to pretend they should be.”

That is the prime tenet of the left. Everyone is a victim and a martyr for everyone else, and we all should be. It’s what gives their lives what little meaning they have in the first place.

They start panting and get all sexually excited just thinking about it. Church of the Effen Bonobos.

  13. Make no mistake, the anti-police, Black Lives Matter movement is funded by Soros and others who want to stir up divisiveness in society.

It is primarily a social media organization, with splinter organizations in many cities around the country that have sizable black populations. They are rejecting the influence of people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. They seem to believe these older black organizers have not delivered what they want. What do they want? It sounds like they want to be able to operate their black subculture with impunity and no interference from “Whitey.” They don’t seem to notice the number of black on black killings, only the blacks who are killed by the police. They seem to believe that those black on black crimes are part of their authentic subculture. What they want, other than reparations, does not compute in the minds of most middle class Americans.

In most of the killings by police the evidence shows that the perp didn’t follow orders. In those cases, the protestors don’t seem to grasp the rule that when you don’t follow orders, the policeman now considers that you are resisting arrest. A point at which things usually go downhill very quickly.

My retired policeman neighbor has a lot of stories about how what seemed to be a simple traffic stop or domestic violence call suddenly turned into something life threatening. The police are human. They want to go home uninjured at the end of the day. Following Chris Rock’s rules as pointed out in the video linked by G6loq is a good idea, especially when you aren’t armed and the policeman is.

  14. Oldflyer – “When I was growing up, as a white kid, I was taught that you do not argue with a Cop; regardless of the circumstance. The only acceptable response, was “yes sir”. If there was a misunderstanding, or disagreement, it could be sorted out later.”

I was taught the same. Sadly, it seems that many young people today, and not just young black men, think that it is okay to argue with a police officer.

They seem to think that arguing/fighting with a cop is “standing up for your rights.” I would agree with that yes you have your rights; but, you also have to be smart about it, do not do anything that would make the cop feel threatened, and if need be sort it out later.

    Here is an interesting clip:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfi3Ndh3n-g

A pastor/activist was invited to go through some of the training that cops go through – it is good to see that he learned something.

  15. Neo, you might look at the controversy a few months ago when Franklin Graham, leader of Samaritan’s Purse, said to cooperate with the police when stopped. There were left wing pastors signing a petition saying he had embarrassed them. While some of his wording might have been better, with more acknowledgement that there are some bad cops out there, you could see in the way people reacted to his comments that anyone questioning the narrative of these “social justice” types is pounced on.

  16. The cop in Texas who shot a young man who was trashing a car dealership has been fired. The cop said he felt threatened. The other cop used his Taser on the kid which suggests the kid was pretty close and advancing. All these cases must give cops second thoughts about dealing with young black men. We see that in Baltimore.

  17. Google “white girl bleed a lot,” the name of a book chronicling black against white violence.

In my neighborhood, just four short blocks away, a huge mob of young adults mostly blacks with some sleazy whites, swarmed a white motorist: he’d had an altercation with a pencil-necked white leftist bike rider, who turned his bike sideways to block the driver, taunted him, and incited the mob of blacks, who were in the neighborhood for a concert of some kind.

    Here’s the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sCBTADL13Q

The cops took TEN MINUTES to show up, and when they did, they came in a caravan of about a dozen cop cars. They didn’t get out of the cars, they just nosed through the savage crowd. They didn’t arrest anyone, either.

The poor driver’s car windows were smashed out by these bastards, and he got no protection and no satisfaction. We’re on our own, people.

  18. The pencil-necked white bike rider who pinned the driver by keeping his bike in front of the car while the mob swarmed it (hell, the driver should have gunned the engine and flattened him and gotten the hell out of there) yells, at one point in the video, ‘This isn’t Virginia or Alabama, motherf***er!” and then gets his jollies watching all the black males trash the victim’s car and terrify him.

A metaphor for all the leftwing bastards. This is what they do.

Also, the sexual rutting and thrusting on the vehicle (a lot more went on than even the disgusting displays you see in the video) is appalling. Rap culture has grossly coarsened and vulgarized American youth, to a demonic degree. Hieronymus Bosch could chronicle it.

  19. To me, it’s common sense: you don’t fight with cops and you are respectful. Simple. They are armed, they are authority figures and you are not. If you are armed, well, better give up your guns. But I am not a criminal so I have nothing to hide… though I did once, in my leftist days, get arrested for spray painting “eat the rich” on a KFC. It was not pleasant but in no way did I fight the police, that is just stupid. They let me go the next day, they mostly wanted to scare me. In any case, one would think it is common sense to NOT resist arrest.

I do know there ARE bad cops, but mostly, cops out there are trying to do the right thing and they have a hard job.

I see video after video of these African Americans resisting arrest or mouthing off to cops and being shocked when they are treated roughly. Well, of course that is going to happen!

Beverly: I am reading _White Girl Bleed A lot_ and I find it terrifying and disheartening. I watch the videos on the author’s YouTube channel as well. I have to stop since they weird me out too much. I mean, this trend is worrisome for the entire country – the violence and the mainstream media coddling and playing into these psuedo-revolutionary fantasies and ignoring this real mayhem and violence. The result of the breakdown of the black family and yes, Rap culture and the worst being enshrined as the best – in the case of someone like Michael Brown. I am just torn up seeing a guy like that, being honored in marches while real deserving heroes in the black community (so to speak) go without.

Any way, good article Neo. The trend of deifying common hoodlums and keeping cops from doing their jobs, cannot end well.

  20. When I say “black community (so to speak)” I qualify “community” because I don’t really believe in any unified community of anyone really. But certainly in the world of Ferguson and other places with many African Americans, there are people far more deserving of honor and recognition than Michael Brown who was a fool at best, and on to worse things than robbing stores at worst.

  21. This stuff started back in the 60s when Radical Chic was written. I remember thinking back then how horrible the “acting white” thing was. To please the egos of a group of radical nuts, millions of young black kids were deprived of a way to explore the world. Feminists also had a role because they diminished the imprtance of being a mother and homemaker.

Look at Michelle’ s school lunch program. Does anyone think the kids are going to have an emotional bond to a cafeteria worker that might serve to keep them in line as they get older? I bet everyone here can remember doing somethg as a kid that they felt ashamed of because they knew their mom wouldn’t approve.

We have to find a way to reteach people (not just blacks; whites are affected too) about the things kids need in a home when they are growing up: regularity, discipline, rituals, practical learning, home-cooked meals, manners. Kids need to be given ammo to ignore or counter the “acting white” bullies before the hit 3rd grade.”Acting white” has to be replaced by “acting right, ” with the latter being defined by the parents who have established strong emotional ties with their kids. Girls have to be taught that the teen years should be spent learning about relationships and deciding what kind of man they want to father their children. Thowing more money at people who don’t know what to do with it is not the answer.

Someone (maybe a Ben Carson) has to be able to take this message to the people. Although, I am financially comfortable, I don’t care one bit about designer clothes, Rolex watches, Lambourginis, Wagyu beef, etc. My favorite vacations were camping trips, inexpensive B&B stays in interesting areas, and roaming around cities exploring the markets and eating in normal inexpensive local eateries. I wouldn’t trade one of my vacations for a week on Martha’s Vineyard surrounded by Obama types. My life has gone from rather poor country time with lots of cousins, to butchering pigs, to college friendships with lots of people from very different backgrounds, to welfare worker in the slums of Philly, to learning a bit about science and medicine via my editing job, to my current situation as wife of an academic. I can’t imagine being richer. Envy is destroying too many souls.

  22. This touches on something that has been bouncing about my skull for a while. It certainly seems we are hearing about more Black men (and women) dying either at the hands of the police or while in police custody, but the nearly universal common theme in these is that the deaths followed confrontation, often violent confrontation, with the police. How many are getting the message “resist we much” or have been scared into believing they’ll be killed no matter what?

For example, in Memphis last month there was a young fellow shot and killed by the police. He had the misfortune to share a name with a rather bad wanted man and had been detained, and subsequently released, at least once previously. In this case, however, he was placed in the back of a police car while the officer checked who he really was. When the officer returned to the car, however, the young man kicked the door open, hit the officer with a pair of handcuffs, and took off running. He was tackled, he resisted, fought the officer, and was shot in the scuffle. I keep asking, though, why did he do this? It makes no sense, unless he was convinced that even though he had done nothing wrong, trying to escape was safer than remaining in police custody.

If the #BlackLivesMatter folks were serious, they’d press for open acknowledgement of a universal right to video record the police and tell folks to be polite and tape everything to clearly document police abuse of power. Getting killed to prove a point is pretty stupid.

  23. “One of the 18 police officers killed this year was a brand new mother and Omaha police officer. She was on a team to arrest a fugitve felon and gang member when she was murdered.”

What was a brand new mother doing on a team to physically apprehend a dangerous felon? Only a deeply nihilistic society could countenance that bizarre circumstance as somehow completely normal.

  24. If the #BlackLivesMatter folks were serious, they’d press for open acknowledgement of a universal right to video record the police and tell folks to be polite and tape everything to clearly document police abuse of power. Getting killed to prove a point is pretty stupid.

Given my analysis, the Left controls the blacks and the police unions and the various other unions or orgs like Planned Profit.

Thus if blacks are given an order to wage a riot in a city and kill police, they will Obey. If police are given orders to crack down on blacks or whites or crims, they will Obey.

If both were ordered to kill the rest of you, they would also Obey.

That’s what people lack the imagination to consider.

    That’s what it looks like:
    Rohnert park police
Didn’t go to full completion … this time.

  26. Excellent article, and comments too!

What an interesting approach- take facts; apply logic, reason and common sense; write down conclusions. The MSM could use this approach, but they won’t. Kudos!

One other point- American culture is devolving, esp. black American culture; while police are being more militarized each day. Apply logic, reason & common sense to that, and you get explosions. Which we are!

  27. People didn’t like Democrats telling them about IED ambushes in Iraq, so they voted to have the Democrats start CW II in America.

Makes sense, for a bunch of retarded zombies and slaves.

  28. I wouldn’t trade one of my vacations for a week on Martha’s Vineyard surrounded by Obama types.

That’s like being in a radiation field. It slowly kills you. Vampires slowly drain you of life.

  29. Beverly: “We’re on our own, people.”

It sounds like you are in NYC? If so, then don’t forget the mob of bikers vs. the SUV driver:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexian_Lien_beating

And remember, at least one of those bikers arrested was an off-duty cop. So, yea, we are on our own.

P.S., the link goes to a Wikipedia article which doesn’t show the video or Mr. Lien’s face after the attack, do a YouTube and Google search on “alex lien” for those.

  30. Which itself is odd, if only because we’ve had such devices for over a decade; shouldn’t there be more of this evidence from past years?

Because they have only been ubiquitous to the middle class for a decade. They’ve only been adopted widely among the lower class in the last few years.

I also deeply discount the “only 4 bad shoots” statistic. Remember that even in a plainly-clear murder in NC, where the cop shot the suspect in the back as he was fleeing, it was initially ruled as a good shoot based on the perjurous corroboration from other cops, until the video surfaced.

Given my history as a white kid in a black neighborhood, I’ve seen the real side of the police. They might be your friend, but they are not on the side of black people, criminals or the law abiding. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. The cops will beat and even kill black people in situations where they would do no more than handcuff a white person who was acting identically.

The American Police (and the prison system, inmates and guards both) are the last great bastions of full on racism in this country. We’ve eradicated it from all the other aspects of society — but it thrives there, behind the thin blue line (including the black cops — they are cops before they are black.)

  31. Kevin Drum, a lefty blogger and journo, had a piece a couple of years ago about ingestion of lead in the poorer neighborhoods.
Ingestion of lead prior to age five apparently leads to deficient impulse control.
But you can’t say black neighborhoods have a disproportionately high number of people who are likely to pop off at the most inopportune and illogical moments.

  32. ‘Yo, Homeboys: FOCUS,’Yo: POlice say Stop/Hands-up/On the Ground,’Yo…DO IT.

    That’s all,’Yo.
