Top secret — 40 Comments

  1. Just saw on the FNC site, as well, that the FBI is saying there was TS/sci information on the server. That goes beyond Top Secret.

That is very serious stuff. I was led to believe that if you ever lost control of that kind of stuff, the black helicopters would whisk you off, never to be seen. In fact, you were not even supposed to divulge if you had access to that level of info. Well, maybe no black helos; but it would still be a life changing situation. That, of course, was about 50 years ago, when our government was much more serious than it is now.

This will be hard to spin or shrug off.

Have to believe that the WH had a dirty paw in letting this information go public.

  2. The story is still too non-specific about what and who is getting or giving up what – if anything.

Higher levels of “Top Secret?” C’mon. There’s a movie with that title, and it’s a very broad parody fest.

  3. How is America still a civilized country when people allow such things, while thinking elections will fix this when it doesn’t?

  4. The political system will be much better when the Clinton’s and Bush’s exit the system. It’s past due for new people to take charge.

With the DOJ in the hands of our Marxist messiah I doubt that Rodham will be appropriately prosecuted. But there is always hope.

  5. I cannot believe any govt investigation against Hillary would go forward without the knowledge and approval of Obama. This could not take place unless he wanted it to.
I think Obama let Hillary get into the start of her campaign, and then he opened the kennel doors. He is out to destroy her.

  6. “I think Obama let Hillary get into the start of her campaign, and then he opened the kennel doors. He is out to destroy her.”

Would not be surprised. But here’s the question – are the Clintons ruthless enough to bring Obama down with them?

  7. Do the Clintons have enough power to do that given their quagmire?

If Bush couldn’t invade Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iran at the same time, then how are the Clintons powerful enough to take on the Left’s God King?

Also to remind people that said Hussein wasn’t executing people somehow, I guess that was before Planned Profit’s secrets were exposed by agents on our side. That raises the question, what the hell were the agents of the detractors doing, getting paid by Planned Profit to shut the f up and call criticism of Hussein, crazy crackpots?

  8. I think the ground is being laid for Hillary’s replacement in the campaign. The long knives are out.

  9. In the military one of the quickest ways to ruin your career is to violate the security of classified information. I used to have a Top Secret clearance and, as part of the command structure of the Air Group my squadron was assigned to, I was required to read the TS message traffic regularly. It was kept in a secure room on the ship and you had to sign off on each message that you read. Most of the information was about operational plans, which no one wanted the enemy to be privy to and was necessary to carry out our mission. Some of it was about political/diplomatic information that COs needed to know for background. After a month or so of reading all this TS material, I began to realize that a lot of it was either over classified – especially the political/diplomatic – or someone was leaking in DOD. Within a week of reading some TS items they would appear in Stars and Stripes or Time, which made me wonder how they got the info. There were no electronics to hack in those days, so someone had to be leaking. Politics and military/diplomatic secrets are a toxic mix. There often seems to be loose lips/traitors in sensitive positions.

HRC seems to have violated the proper security procedures. Will it ruin her career? Not holding my breath!

  10. “Higher levels than Top Secret” is probably referring to compartmentalized information with additional code words. Only small numbers of people will be given knowledge of and access to additional Top Secret – Code Word material. There are many of these additional code words. Some Top Secret material will have more than one.

She is screwed. I can’t imagine the FBI getting involved will make this go away. They can’t ignore the flagrant disregard for handling classified material. Anyone who has held a clearance know the seriousness with which this material is handled.

I am not even sure how she could’ve gotten this material in an email unless she was directly quoting paper materials. Any emails with classified materials would have to be sent only within internal email systems that are contained within a SCIF. You don’t just casually send an email OUT of a SCIF into the real world.

The computers in a SCIF won’t have a means for copying material such as a DVD writer/reader or even a port for a thumb drive. Whatever she did was completely outside of the rules of handling classified material that is drilled into the head of anyone with a clearance…and the penalties are well-known.

    She is toast.

Whether or not she will be toast and then ‘pardoned’ is another matter entirely.

  11. Here is my prediction:

Hillary is toast. Bernie Sanders will gain some traction, but then he will flame out. Elizabeth Liawatha Warren will be the Democrat nominee in 2016.

Right now (Aug. 11, 2015) I don’t have a prediction for the Republican nominee. I support Walker or Cruz.

  12. Nothing here is making me retract my previous prediction that the Dems will nominate Michelle Obama in 2016.

  13. Without getting in to any of the classified materials they find, for me the fact that a SOS would send any e-mails that were susceptible to hacking on an unsecured server marks Hillary as too damned dumb to run anything. I wouldn’t want the Chinese or Russians to know what I said to Chelsea about the dress her MIL wore to the wedding. If nothing else, she exposed a lot of personal contacts to further spying. She is dumb.

  14. There is value in slow-walking the indictment – he can’t pardon someone who hasn’t been charged. Though there’s ample evidence to suggest he’d be just dandy with Hillary doing the perp walk.

Bill was a lovable cad. His wife isn’t likable, intelligent, articulate, or trustworthy – anyone with a room temperature IQ sees it. Promethea – you have it right: “long knives” and “toast” are the words-of-the-day.

  15. If nothing else, it will tell us what dems, and dem voters, will put up with when it comes to party vs. national security. More accurately, it will be another damning indicator.

  16. Sanders doesn’t need criminal charges or indictments to really damage Clinton. He should just shift his message a little and start talking about equality under the law — that there can’t be two sets of laws one for the elites and one for the rest of us. You know the rest . . .

  17. petraeus was prosecuted & convicted of having
*confidential* info in his possesion , confidential is 2 steps lower than the top secret she had !
How could they justify the petraeus action & ignore Madam ???
Ironic set of circumstances, Obamas minions kept
Petreaus info as potential blackmail & then nailing him pings back to hillary , LOL
She has brain damage I tell you !

  18. Yes, there are levels above Top Secret. I can still picture the cover of those documents. There is a prominent yellow border with the words “Top Secret Warning! Code Word Material Contained Herein Do not turn this page without proper authorization” followed by a paragraph from USC Title 18 that essentially says they don’t lock you up and throw away the key, they weld the door shut.

Jimmy J. alluded to over classification. A casual perusal of many classified documents can lead to this conclusion. However, it is incorrect. The overwhelming bulk of intelligence gathering is focused on pattern analysis and traffic analysis. The little bits of tid, seemingly innocuous, form a giant jigsaw puzzle. Just seeing where the holes are yields valuable intelligence.

Jimmy J. also mentions seeing highly classified information appearing in the public domain. In many cases this is disinformation. Many times over the years, just based on my brief exposure half a century ago, I have seen stuff that smacks of this. Everybody spies. Everybody uncovers “secrets”. The real question is “is it live or is it Memorex?”.

In the latter part of WWII the US, at enormous expense, deployed aircraft and vessels to counter the Nazi submarines. This was a disinformation campaign to hide the fact that the US had broken the German naval code and that was how they found them.

For those of you who try to make sense of this world be aware that some unknown amount of what you read and hear is artful lies. Is it real or is it Memorex?

  19. For any rational mind this should be kinda a no brainer BUT this is the Clintons. This is politics and that is what the Clintons do best. Could play out many different ways. At this point it’s anybody’s guess.

I truely hate to say it but if FBI comes back and says there’s nothing there … SHE could benefit!

  20. mongrel19 12:03
can’t pardon someone who hasn’t been charged.

The president can pardon any offense against the federal government, whether it is known or not, although presumably only ones that take place before the pardon is issued. See Ford’s pardon of Nixon, in which everything within a certain date range is pardoned.

  21. Roy Lofquist, thanks for that brief rundown on the disinformation business. I’m a linear thinker and would not have done well in the spook game. Will have to try to look in the shadows more.

  22. Jimmy J. Absolutely. Spread planes and ships all over so that the one which was in the right place due to intel is just one of a hundred and there had to be one of those, given so many of them out there. Send a destroyer to a place in the Channel and it will report in good faith a flight of German aircraft. Far as the Germans are concerned, the response is due to the destroyer’s report. But it would actually be due to intel and thus more robuts than if they werr smoking and joking until the destroyer’s report came in. Even that had to be modulated. See Coventry.

  23. How does something become part of the zeitgeist? Must it appear before the first geriatric medicine commercial on the evening news? On a newspaper’s front page? Do the dulcet tones of NPR during rush hour reach enough people for a story to matter?

Or maybe I should ask whether Hillary’s many, many transgressions against law and sensibility are widely known but people who think of her as one of their own simply don’t care. (There are still people who think injustice is when the Rosenbergs are punished for giving a sadistic dictatorship secrets that might have been used to incinerate millions of Americans.)

Perhaps I am too cynical, but I think Hillary will not receive justice, i.e. treatment according to law that is similar to other people who have committed similar acts. If her candidacy is brought to a halt by palace intrigue-style politics, it will not be a blow for the rule of law.

  24. Want to know why American wars started by Democrats began to fail under Republican administrations, like say Vietnam and Iraq?

Ever wonder why the enemy was so tenacious? Maybe people should have asked who were the traitors commanding our forces, eh?

  25. I would be analyzing the strengths of potential candidates against the timing of the state’s primaries to determine when to introduce the “savior” of the party.

If I remember correctly, in 2008, Hillary campaigned a lot in the larger primary states while Obama and his campaign were quietly working the smaller ones. “Unexpectedly”, this little known guy appeared to have widespread support over the country and taken the lead. Remember the 57 states quote, indicating that he had traveled a lot.

I would not be surprised if Warren steps in later as the Dem candidate. I wonder what her travel schedule is right now and if she is working the donor circuit?

  26. Combine the above with LITTLE to NO coverage on ABC, NBC, CBS nightly news.

I’d call that a blackout for Hillary’s email scandal.
