Boehner says, “let’s make a deal” — 12 Comments

  1. Boehner has done nothing EXCEPT whatever Obama wishes…it’s almost like Obama HAS something on him…..

  2. In Chicago the machine has something on friends and foes alike. If necessary the machine creates the ‘something’ out thin air with a seasoning of innuendo.

  3. This has to be the “theater part” of failure theater.

Ryan: “Man, I can’t do it–they’ll crucify me.”
Boehner: “Got you covered. I’ll do it!”
    Ryan: “Yeah . . . but . . .”
Boehner: “Pretend you don’t like it.”
    Ryan: “I can do that.”

  4. Parker, sounds like the Stasi of East Germany too, blackmailing women to make them betray their husbands.

  5. My impression is in accord with TheOmnivore above, that this is yet another episode of Failure Theater, which takes the form of the old Good Cop/Bad Cop routine:

Bad Cop Boehner cuts a rotten deal in secret, a side effect of which is that it absolves Good Cop Ryan of having to do most of the real dirty work for the next two years.

Good Cop Ryan pretends to be outraged, saying “I think the process stinks,” emphasizing that he’s the Good Cop in this game and had nothing to do with such a putrid deal.

The only thing missing here is the payoff to Boehner for playing The Fall Guy. Watch carefully over the next year or two for something really good to fall into Boehner’s lap, perhaps some legislation favorable to the group on whose behalf he’s lobbying.

  6. Boehner will have a lucrative career as a lobbyist. He just has to wait a year, play golf, and enjoy a few in the club house.

  7. Boehner has probably done the income Speaker of the House a giant favor. The new Speaker will be freed up to bypass the windmills and to attack other more pressing matters.

  8. Those who see this as a cynical ploy have the right of it. Ryan continues to prove himself to be just another duplitious RINO.

  9. “Rep. Paul Ryan blasted Speaker John Boehner”- Crocodile tears.

When Ryan was on Mark Levin’s show in 2012- he said if elected he would be able to defund 85% of Obama-care through procedural actions.
After he was elected- Crickets chirping. And he has voted for every budget buster bill since that funds it. He is a man like Boner without principles nor integrity. Expect more of the same from Boehner jr.

And as far as Boehner goes, does the monkier Benedict Arnold ring a bell? At least Arnold’s leg was faithful to the cause. Boner can’t even claim that distinction 🙁

“On the grounds of the Saratoga National Historic Park, there rests a monument to Benedict Arnold’s leg. It sits on the spot where Arnold fell wounded during the Battle of Freeman’s Farm. He had just led a brilliant charge against a British redoubt–the culmination of a day of extraordinary field generalship that led one of his soldiers to later write of Arnold that he was “the very genius of war.”

  10. duplitious RINO.

If people are referring to Benedict Arnold, that makes him a cuckservative, not a RINO. The latter term is being phased out as the war gets hotter for the old, middle, and young generations.
