Trump and the Muslim registry — 16 Comments

  1. Trump and his family were interviewed on 20/20 last night. It was a pretty impressive political ad. I have to admit I came away liking him as a person. I had not felt that way before.

He can be a likable human when he is among family and friends. However, one thing sounded an alarm bell for me. He stated (paraphrasing):
“I do not like to lose. I will work my butt off to win. I want to win, I.just.want.to.wiinn! Is this a trait that can get him or the country into trouble? I want to know more and would like to see more specific information about his management style. The wisdom to know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em is something all good leaders need.

His children all openly admire and praise him. That he has four adult children who have all turned out to be hard workers and self actuated successes is very impressive.

The Muslim registry issue is just another example of MSM gotcha techniques. Trump is undoubtedly careful to use good lawyers. That he would try to go against the laws and customs of the country seems a stretch to me.

  2. J.J.:

Trump’s kids are his best advertisement. He’s been fine in that department.

His marriages have involved serial infidelity.

And none of it matters to me in the political sense. I could not care less about it, actually. His deficits of character and judgment politically are very strong, IMHO.

  3. The irony of the people accusing him is that many support maintenance of these databases in the open for causes of class diversity, gender priority, redistributive change, etc.

  4. I just can’t see Trump dealing with foreign leaders. I don’t want him to represent America. I don’t care whether he read to his kids at night.

  5. The overall picture is that if the Left succeeds at mau-mauing Trump, or any other opponent, by lies and slander, that mud will stick to everyone who opposes them.

    Everyone.

Which is a large part of the Left’s objective.

So the lies and slander must be opposed with vigor and scorn, regardless of whether one supports a particular target or not.

This week they debuted the Facebook campaign featuring a Hallmark Christmas card illustration of Mary and Joseph on a donkey, and the snide question, “Too bad there isn’t a seasonal narrative featuring a Middle Eastern couple being turned away from sanctuary by the heartless….”

(Christians know, as these Christian-haters don’t, that the Holy Family were turned away from the inn because it was full, not because the innkeeper was heartless. But, whatever: let’s equate the moslems with their victims — the Jews and Christians.)

The other attack was “DONALD TRUMP IS A NAZI!!! OMG!!! ELEVENTY!!!”

Even the libertarians are falling for this garbage.

  6. One other thing: did everyone see/hear the charming demonstration of hate by the “garden variety” non-jihadi moslems in Istanbul at the soccer match between Turkey and Greece?

During the “moment of silence” for the Parisian victims, the crowd started jeering and whistling, then chanting “ALLAHU ACKBAR!!!”

Yes, by all means, let’s idiotically import more of those people.

  7. Just as Obama lies without consequences, the media do too.

I think this tandem team of knaves has assured of the Trump nomination.

Because they can’t help themselves, he will be made King – it couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of odious scat.

Reagan generated the exact same fears… the cowboy.

I can see Trump handling the other heads of state drastically better than Barry has — for the last seven years.

You have to give up the perfect… to accept good enough.

    Compare Trump to Hillary.

    QED

In my estimation, Trump will surely unload the task to some old pro… someone the antithesis of JFK.

The odds highly favor Trump picking someone acceptable to Henry Kissinger.

Trump is more likely to be his own Secretary of Commerce. He knows that material like the back of his hand.

Trump is extremely likely to build the DoD — but be loathe to deploy it…. just like Reagan.

For, Trump, fundamentally sees his role as a builder. He’s going to build his way out of almost everything:

    Build the DoD.

    Build the Wall

    Build better Freeways

Build better long distance power transmission

Build a massive PV array in New Mexico (FDR style)

    Build Keystone

Lease deep ocean tracts to Big Oil

Build — like Reagan — a missile defense — here and abroad

Rebuild the atomic arsenal — Red China has more atomics than the rest of the planet, combined.

( Putin’s sabre rattling towards the West is aimed at Beijing.

( One kills the chicken to scare the monkey.

I don’t see Trump even attempting to go large with multi-national anythings until he’s got his basics covered.

In contrast, Barry Soetoro just loves confabs — to screw us.

Speeches to Muslim despots are totally worthless. You’re not persuading anybody by the attempt.

    &&&

Iran’s mullahs realize that ANY normalization with America would utterly destroy their revolution.

Barry has yet to figure that out.

    And never will.

It’s not only over his head, it’s over something higher, his ego.

  9. It’s pretty clear that Trump’s comments consisted of a careless response to a reporter’s trap question. Trump’s original answers were very general, like almost all of his answers, and the Muslim registry idea came from the reporter–not Trump, who was distracted.

I’m not a Trump supporter, but WOW. What’s next? Reporters asking Trump questions while he’s sleeping?

Reporter: Mr. Trump, isn’t it true that your platform is to kill all the babies and rape all the women?

Trump (sleeping and pawing at air): Ucchh…whatever…leave me alone…

Next day’s headline: Trump enthusiastically advocates murdering children and raping women!

  10. So did some Trump believer or Republican fall for this con the way Trump fell for the deception op against Carson?

  11. Ymarsakar:

Trump didn’t “fall for” the op against Carson. He embraced it gratefully and wholeheartedly.

    Not all Americans are heartless!:
Ten Jewish Groups Urge Congress to Allow Syrian Refugees Into U.S.
While Congress members consider not admitting Syrian refugees after the Paris attacks, Jewish groups argue that ‘turning our back on refugees would be to betray our nation’s core values.’

    Yup!
We have a serious problem here ….

  13. G6loq…

    The usual suspects.

    Observant… not so many.

True Believers engaged in moral preening — plenty.

  14. I don’t like Trump, either, but I will say one thing — had he been in charge of negotiating the Iran Agreement, the Iranians would have walked out of that hotel in their underwear and thought they made a great deal.
