Brussels: raids net 16 suspects — 21 Comments

  1. I can’t imagine this country “living in lock down” or in general fear / suspicion of “neighbors”.

  2. While here in nyc, the news is going into overtime to deny the truth that islamics cheered the collapse of the towers (though it was hundreds not thousands), its blatant rewrite of history… i remember the videos that came out and how people complained that the news refused to give such coverage… now they are teaming up to claim trump is not telling the truth. but he was, youtube at the time had the vids…

welcome to the soviet union II
we have a camp bed reserved just for you where you will be cured… or else…

  3. Cruz is leaping in the polls.

that means the left thinks that they can beat him and have someting on him. the fact he changed his stance on h1b visas from wanting increases, to not… is not so much believable..

    Hillary is going to win…
    the fix is in…

  4. Farage’s speech to the European Parliament is Churchillian in its pin-point accuracy and clarity.

Interesting that this superb performance by Nigel Farage of UKIP in Brussels wasn’t reported in the French or German media – and it’s wonderful seeing the shots of Merkel’s and Hollande’s faces as they listened to it! In clear RP English with French subtitles:

Without the mandates of the unelected Brussels making Marxist rules and impositions, France probably would not be in the position it is in… as a pipsqueak prisoner of its own currency… Germany ended up ruling Europe after WWII thanks to Brussels, and the UK lost its way ending up with a front government to a shadow communist one..

  5. “Hillary is going to win…
    the fix is in…”

What’s astonishing is that I just saw in a CNN story that while survey responders disapproved of Obama’s handling of the terrorist situation, they thought Hilary would be best able to handle it.

That they found people anywhere that could see the disaster Obama has caused, yet want to elect the one candidate who was directly and personally involved with creating the mess, and the one who is most likely to continue disastrous policies that cause these problems, is just jaw-dropping.

It seriously makes me want to pack up and leave, but there’s nowhere to go.

  6. I have to stop talking… or else feminists will hurt me and others like me… especially on this issue…

‘Whitesplaining’: what it is and how it works
Catriona Elder (an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Sydney) to explain some very fashionable Leftist tropes.

Have you ever had an experience where someone is explaining to you, maybe in a lot of detail, something you actually already know quite a lot about? Possibly about your own life?

It’s frustrating. But it’s not a random occurrence, and it’s often about power. There’s a word for it: “whitesplaining”.

    [snip]

“White people create the dominant images of the world and don’t quite see that they thus construct the world in their image.”

White people move through the world in a way that is made to suit a particular worldview. Damon, in explaining away any need for affirmative action, or awareness of race in film and TV, is only saying: I, personally, did not need it. He does not see his whiteness and all the privileges that come along with it.

    Whitesplaining

Whitesplaining – derived from “mansplaining” – is a new, zietgeisty, word, but it’s essentially an expression of privilege: the unconscious, unearned and largely un-examined benefits of prejudice.

The concept of “privilege” was fully articulated in its modern form by Peggy McIntosh in her 1988 essay,White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.

Drake just partnered up with Tom Ford for the designer’s new lipstick collection called, Lips & Boys. Yes you read it right, Tom Ford’s lipstick collection is inspired by the “notable men” in his life. …
Jake Gyllenhaal is also said to be getting his own shade. … Drake’s featured shade is rumored to be a dark

They have already ended my family and taken my life, they can have the country they messed up… i for one am not going to fight to save a place that would do more harm to me if i did save it…

  8. Hey, y’all!
Terrorism works, no guns or bang-bangs needed. Some digital chatter sets off a shelter-in-place cretinism, with lots of Belgian soldiers bustling about wearing balaklavas and other face masks so ISIS the All-Seeing cannot photo-ID them later.

Belgian GDP will take a hit, but not to worry. Draghi will fix that. Mama Merkel will shelter you, smother you with her doles. The EC has further tightened its tight gun-control laws. Peace is at hand. Proceed with your abortions, and let’s have rockin’ rollin’ sex.

Belgium needs these soldiers at home, so cannot send them to actually fight ISIS or other muzzies.

Effing Euros. Wretched wee little people. Cowards in place.

  9. Artfldgr:

What are you referring to when you write “youtube at the time had the vids”? There was no YouTube in existence at the time of 9/11.

  10. Wrong, ArtfldgrsGhost, quite wrong. Do not go quietly into that good night.
    Toughen up!
Take a few of the bastards with you.
As parker and I intend to do.

  11. I’ll repeat my prediction:
Final election night tally: GOP 321, Dems 217.
Dems will lose PA early in the night, and then you’ll know it’s all over for them.

  12. You have to admit, staging the attack in Mali was a great strategic move — probably keeps the Foreign Legion in Africa instead of Syria. The brave fighters of the Caliphate DO NOT want to face the Legion Etrangere.

  13. I’ve just finished reading “Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, two former SEALs. It’s a leadership handbook (and a very good one), but also describes in some detail how the U.S. forces retook Ramadi from the jihadis in 2007. By clearing, stabilizing, and holding neighborhoods the U.S. forces killed, captured, and disabled the terrorists in neighborhoods in Ramadi bit by bit until they had taken over the entire city. (Sometimes called the ink blot approach.) This is basically what the Europeans will have to do with their Muslim no-go zones. To accomplish it they will have to take ownership of the problem. That means defining the problem, devising solutions, and then executing the solutions with courage and efficiency.

Such an approach requires suspending the civil liberties of the Muslim terrorists and engaging the Muslims who would like to live in more peaceful, cleaner, crime-free neighborhoods.

It sounds as if the French and Belgians have decided to try that approach. I hope they carry through.

  14. JJ,
It’s a bit like broken windows policing. Once you let the strong man take over an area, he intimidates everyone and gets them to at least pretend to follow him.
Also, we have not done near enough to counter their propaganda. Everyone who analyzes the situation seems to ignore the testosterone element: virgins in heaven and rape victims here on earth. We have to speak against this.

  15. expat: “Also, we have not done near enough to counter their propaganda.”

    Just so.

Psy-ops against Wahabbism (particularly on the internet) and deporting or imprisoning radical imams would defuse a lot of the incitement to violence in Europe and the U.S. Trying to slow recruitment would be a positive step forward.

Many of the radical imams are looking for testosterone -fueled, angry young Muslims who can be incited to violence. A lot of them are criminals who then switch over to jihadism because it offers them a get-out-of-jail-free card.

  16. A bit of Belgian history. Today is the 24th anniversary that elections were held in Belgium which resulted in what is called “zwarte zondag”, aka “Black Sunday”. What happened? “Vlaams Blok”, a Flemish nationalist and anti-immigration party, got 6.6% of the national vote. As a result they were excluded from any future coalition (because of “racism”) which made the socialists and allied vermin (like the greens) very happy as it made themselves indispensable (“incontournable” in French but I can’t find an exact English equivalent) for any future coalition (*).
What that meant is that since the Left already was committed to being pro-islam an already bad situation became truly insolvable. So the only thing to do was to let it rot and cover it up by introducing thought-crime laws.

But the “Right” wasn’t any better. In the 1980s people began to notice that the immigrant population, the islamic part that is, committed crimes out of all proportion to numbers, and that a substantial minority were obnoxious as well (the phenomenon of the “lover-boy” amongst other things, for the UK-equivalent see “Grooming Gangs”). So since the natives became restless a commissioner was appointed, Paula D’Hondt, a Christian Democrat. What I remember of that luminary is a slogan “No assimilation but integration” and the foundation of a “Center against racism” (I call it the “Center FOR racism” or also the “quisling-center”). So basically the natives were told to stop being racist. And that resulted in “Black Sunday” etc.

What was the attitude of the USA at the time? Well, I remember reading an issue of “Newsweek” end of the 1980s. I believe it was called “The Changing face of Europe”. It still makes me angry when I think of it. If there were any problems with immigrants then it was because of “colonialism”, that is, the immigrants came from ex-European colonies and logically were therefore hostile. The European populations just had to lump it and, oh, stop being racist. Islam was not mentioned as a cause of course. But the example of the glorious American melting pot (a damnable lie) was used to show us, Europeans, how it was done. And the future was “bright”. In other words, the USA was (also) incredible naive and stupid and history did not begin on 9/11.

Why this? Well, for one thing it shows that what happens today has been prepared a long time ago. Totus, Merkel, Cameron, Dhollande, … are just the latest incarnations of the process. So it’s no good that, as an example, someone from the UK writes that it’s all Merkel and the German’s fault when the UK’s Blair has gone there before them. And ditto the USA’s fetish of blaming Europe for its own woes.

(*) The same thing happened in France with the FN.

  17. Well, for one thing it shows that what happens today has been prepared a long time ago.

Indeed, the Leftist alliance has been around for a long time, even when they were under the KGB’s thumb.

Here’s something I wrote in reply to a post about American immigration and the Pilgrim Thanksgiving.

::Only Massachuset’s dynastic clan welcomed the Pilgrims. The rest were seeing some fresh turkeys off the boat that needed raiding. In fact, Indians fought more wars over each other’s territory. The Europeans were merely stronger in the survival context. Why? Because the weaklings died from hunger and from socialism, that’s why. The voyage over the Atlantic meant only the best, the most hardy, the most lucky, and the most determined got through.

Meanwhile the tribals of America were still going around raiding like the vikings and Muslim of last millenium. That kind of development isn’t going to last against Western civilization, who survived and defeated the Vikings AND the Muslims. You don’t survive the Danes and 1400 years of Islamic Jihad, and think a bunch of horse raiding tribals in America are superior. That’s not how it works.

Any Western tribal who thought living on the infinite praerie with horses and buffalo was the R selected paradise of infinite resources and breeding that comes with rabbits, got disabused of that notion by the Vikings, by Islamic slave raiders, and by their own clan competitors. This is what made the West strong, pure, unrelenting, warfare as a survival mechanism. All the arms, all the weapons development, all the armor, was created for that purpose, that sole purpose. If you failed to defend against a slave raid, all the boys and men would be executed and the women would be sex slaves in some Sultan’s or Caliph’s harem. Your lineage will have “ended”. http://www.bookwormroom.com/2015/11/22/stuck-on-stupid-progressive-facebook-edition-part-2/

The Left has used “colonialism” as a guilt trip for a long time. But even that was them covering up for Islam.

  18. These raids are probably happening now because they’re based on intelligence gleaned from the Paris attacks, either directly from accomplices who were captured, or from their (or the dead terrorists’) cell phones or computers or acquaintances.

That’s why the FBI had such a high rate of success in the US after 2001 but before 2008.

The number of terrorists captured overseas and brought to Gitmo to interrogate, yielded significant intel.
