Yes, these attacks have a great deal to do with Islam — 59 Comments

  1. This is why, the Saturday after the attack in Paris, I sent (even to my liberal friends and family–something I rarely do) the quote about what was said to Jefferson & Adams, along with the interview from Belgium that CBN did with a group of “Peaceful Muslims” (“shariah4belgium). Those embracing the perpetual lies, I’ve found silent when confronted with the historical and current facts on the ground.

  2. Sharon W,

    That goes to diagnosis only.

The President and his fellow travelers are cutting off the needed action mainly at the prescription step by setting the Overton Window using premises that preclude the needed action.

So, what did you discuss with your friends and family in order to bring about the ‘strong horse’ type of American leadership – ie, the kind of American leadership that manifested with Operation Iraqi Freedom – that’s needed for the prescription?

  3. Eric, until they recognize the truth, there is no hope that they will accede to the needed response. Presenting historical and current reality will hopefully break through before we suffer what will continue to be the unfortunate fall-out of present policy. It seems to me that what you propose is trying to force the medicine on someone that doesn’t recognize that the illness exists. For now, these people are firmly embedded in unreality.

  4. >>The current meme of the left that terrorist attacks “have nothing to do with Islam” is absurd on the face of it, an example of the tried and true Big Lie technique.

Apparently some believe that the Paris attacks were a hoax due to the cafes being too neatly put together after the “killings” (theory goes the dead bodies wee fake).

  5. “So, despite Bush’s “Islam is a peaceful religion” rhetoric, he correctly identified the terrorists as practicing a form of Islam.” neo

Respectfully, I can’t agree. Arguably for valid reasons, Bush got it backwards. ‘Moderate’ Islam is a form of Islam… but one decidedly unsupported by Muhammad’s hadiths and the Qur’an’s tenets. The terrorists are the most devout of Muslims, it is they who practice Islam’s tenets and, Allah & Muhammad’s commands most faithfully.

  6. Something I’ve noticed the last several days is that some news sites, like Reuters, ABC, and NBC, are now using the term Islamic State in headlines. That fronting of “Islamic” is interesting. A bit of a pushback in favor of journalistic truth?

  7. Islam ls not the religion of peace and the jihadis are following the standard teachings of the clerics based on the Koran.

“That thinking–I am not saying “religion” but “thinking”–that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. It’s antagonizing the entire world!

Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants–that is 7 billion–so that they themselves may live? Impossible!”

The president of Egypt, al-Sisi knows whereof he speaks and the danger it is putting the Islamic world into. Read the entire article by Raymond Ibrahim. http://www.raymondibrahim.com/from-the-arab-world/egypts-sisi-islamic-thinking-is-antagonizing-the-entire-world/

  8. I’d forgotten this from 2010 — “Obama Bans Terms Islam` and Jihad` From U.S. Security Document: Document under President Bush cited ‘militant Islamic radicalism’ as greatest conflict of 21st century”.

Gosh, that makes Hillary actually sound rather daring, referring to “jihadists” as she did several times in the second Democratic candidate debate.

  9. “Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants–that is 7 billion–so that they themselves may live? Impossible!””

Is it possible that 100% of the Germans, Japaneses and Italian people in WW2 wanted to kill the rest of the world? Doubtful. But the leaders of the Axis powers simply wanted to rule the world on their terms. If they had the “means” they would have killed as many as possible to accomplish their goal. The general loss of population would have been replenished with “superior” people over the long hall.

As for the current axis of evil, all we have to do is submit to “Allah” and they will stop the killing of Infidels. Of course the internal killing going on between the various segments of Islam will continue.

Which is why I question the wisdom of any Muslim immigration to the US. Why? With a large % desiring Sharia Law, the Balkanization that occurs with Muslim Immigrants and the possibility of sleeper cells, what is the benefit to the country.

Everyone looks back and complains about the interment of the Japanese and Germans/Italians back in WW2. I’m of the opinion, they made the best decision available at that time with the information on hand at the time. And the Japanese-Americans simply wanted to show they were Americans. They formed an Army Unit.

The 442nd Regiment was the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in the history of American warfare. The 4,000 men who initially made up the unit in April 1943 had to be replaced nearly 2.5 times. In total, about 14,000 men served, earning 9,486 Purple Hearts.
They were Americans first and Nationality second.

I know I’m being “Racist”, but if the Muslim population of the US were treated in a similar manner, does anyone here believe they would mimic the actions of the Japanese-Americans? What does that tell you?

  10. The conventional wisdom that America is strong enough to survive one bad President may well be put to the test.

    Preach it brother.

I find that this is stoutly resisted wherever I post.

    Especially with righteous conservatives.

For it takes them where they don’t want to go.

Which must necessarily magnify all of our troubles while stirring up a wasps nest in the ummah.

No matter how I harp on it, the notion that the hijrah is the PRIMARY strategic threat is bitterly resisted — by fellows that are aligned with the GOP// conservative wing… to include bona fide Tea Party conservatives.

Even they are still swallowing the narrative.

    For it is so sweet.

It’s an ARROGANT narrative that American niceness and culture can over come all.

    Nope.

  14. It’s the damned conceit of these people that irks me most. As if they would know what constitutes Islam better than people who have lived and breathed it for their entire lives.

I doubt the the left actually believes it. They are all lying and they know it. But they won’t let a little thing like the truth get in the way of their hold on power.

  15. What this is leading to is a civil war in multiple countries at the same time.

What would that be? Not World War 3 but Civil World War 1

  16. If Neo’s is trying to make the point that Obama and the left are worse than Bush then bravo. Point made. If Neo’s point is that Bush was actually effective in combating radical Islam then no cigar.

Lets cut to the chase. How does one become a Muslim? Simple. Repeat the Shahadah. That’s it. You are a Muslim.

Here is a statement from an Islamic web site:

It is easy to become a Muslim. To become a Muslim one must simply pronounce the Shahaadatayn (Declaration of Faith) with sincerity and conviction.

The Shahadah is the following :

” Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illaallaah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan-ar-rasool ullaah ” (In Arabic)

“I bear witness that there is no God worthy to be worshiped but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” (Translation IN English)

Pronouncing the testimony of faith is sufficient to make one a convert to Muslim. There are however, seven conditions that must be observed before it can effectively make one a Muslim. Let us look at what these conditions are before we describe the procedure for taking the shahadah .

    1 Knowledge (Al-ilm)…
    2 Certainty (Al-Yaqeen)…
    3 Sincerity (Al-Ikhlaas)…
    4 Truthfulness (As-Sidq)…
    5 Love and affection (Al-Mahabbah )…
    6 Submission (Al-Inqiyaad) internally and externally…
    7 Acceptance and conformity (Al-Qubool )…”
    http://muslimconverts.com/shahadah/converting.htm

The only criterion for becoming a Muslim is that one says the Shahadah sincerely knowing what one is saying.

Anyone who accepts the 5 pillars of Islam is a full fledged Muslim. Here they are:
The ‘Five Pillars’ of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life:

    1. Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
    2. Establishment of the daily prayers;
    3. Concern for and almsgiving to the needy;
    4. Self-purification through fasting; and
    5. The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.

    http://www.islam101.com/dawah/pillars.html

These are the criteria used for Muslims to determine whether someone else is a Muslim. Anyone who wishes to disqualify someone else as a Muslim must present objective evidence that the other person has not said the shahadah with knowledge and conviction or has abandoned the 5 pillars of Islam.

  17. Folks, this is what I call ammunition in this argument: a staggering list of moslems’ terror attacks Around the World:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Islamist_terrorist_attacks

The flags of each country at left make it visually immediately apparent that they’re bombing the s*** out of everyone. Even to the artsy-fartsy crowd. I’ll send the link to the young’uns after Thanksgiving.

Propagate, spread it around! Tell people to just scroll down: it’s staggering how many major ones there have been. Because, according to the website thereligionofpeace.com, “a nonpartisan, pluralistic site” that documents the roots of Islamic terror, there have been over 27,000 deadly attacks since 2001. So the list in the link above is just the worst of the worst.

  23. ‘…his actions were strong and clear…’

No they were not. Not even close. If they had even been 25% strong and clear, the regime in Iran would no longer exist.

Even a cursory knowledge of history would have taught Bush the truth. He called Islam a religion of peace because he was too cowardly to face the truth. Now we’re all facing the consequences of his cowardice.

‘The terrorists are the most devout of Muslims, it is they who practice Islam’s tenets and, Allah & Muhammad’s commands most faithfully.’

Here’s a question for those who deny that ISIS is Islamic (like Bush and his buddy Obama).

Do they or do they not follow the five pillars of Islam?

  24. A tiny detail re the subject of this thread, but I want to point out that the “giving charity” part of the Five Pillars refers only to giving charity to Muslims. Muslims give charity to non-Muslims only when they expect Muslims to benefit.

I was unaware of this aspect of the Five Pillars for many years. I know that many people are fooled into thinking that Muslims are charitable. The religion is much closer to a pagan cult than most people know.

  25. Has anyone heard of the sixth pillar of Islam?

It isn’t one of the usual five, but it is often called a sixth pillar because it is a compulsory duty for all Muslims. What is it? All together now.

    6. JIHAD!

Jihad is such an important duty imposed upon all Muslims that it is often called the sixth pillar of Islam.

  26. “The report released by the Joint Forces Command five years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq said it found no “smoking gun” after reviewing about 600,000 Iraqi documents captured in the invasion and looking at interviews of key Iraqi leadership held by the United States, Pentagon officials said.

The assessment of the al Qaeda connection and the insistence that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction were two primary elements in the Bush administration’s arguments in favor of going to war with Iraq.”

  27. I always think of that scene in Star Wars where Obi Wan Kenobi pulls his Jedi mind trick on the trooper, “These are not the droids you’re looking for.” I have the feeling that the progressive crowd thinks they have the Jedi Force with them; that if they say it, it will be true, or at least everyone will believe it. “ISIS had nothing to do with Islam.”

  28. Neoneocon Says: by joining in the chorus, a person can feel nice and tolerant too…

our lack of using exact speech helps the opposition promote lies and delusions as real. notice how, out of our current speech, neo leaves out the word pretend. it should read “a person can pretend to feel nice and tolerant”. the feeling is not based on real behavior, and so is pretend, a delusion, not real. take your pick

but don’t we now live in a post modern world where you “Don’t dream it, be it”? a world where you can believe whatever you want without having to bother with the niggling details… take trump candidacy vs obama… trump has no experience, but that was ok for obama, who had much less (not even business experience)… its bad that trump is not a pure conservative, but it was ok to go for a guy whose mentors were full fledged communists, parents were full fledged communists, and the people who put him up was the terrorist branch of a 100 year old communist progressive organization with a multinamed pedegree of communist subversion.

see? there is no real comparison now because it was ok to be deluded that stalins brother would be good, and a business leader (not a reality tv star, not a politician, not a [insert stupidity here] is evil and bad and we cant see how Marxist programmed we are… only a military man like more than half the prior presidents would be worse, right?

if one can take a step back, one can see this craziness in which real concerns are attacked along with the people, and meaningless concerns are raised to a high level of meaning from being superflous, and that we feel real smart and all that bsing the whole way dancing to the piper we pretend to oppose.

    how so?

if it wasnt for the feminists change to langage to follow party lines (pc), and to teach us that women are physically equal, and nine other impossibilities we recite every day and accept that we no longer can even use reality as a means to prove anything…

  29. Dosent Kerry have an Iranian/Muslim son in law ?
Must keep peace in the family, the guy must whisper the constant refrain in his ear “these attacks have nothing to do with Islam, dear father in law”
Over the summer there was some Isis horror event to which the Marthas Vinyard summer citizen Kerry observed
“All this is going on in the ME because they have no French restsurants they can go to” (as usual Kerry left no tip for the server)

  30. Taking a risk of being deleted.. once the population has been prepped to accept unreality as real, even if its for political expediency, they were prepared for the next stage… applying the same delusions to black on white crime (remember? women cheated for love, not sex, they killed to end abuse, but not for gain, and on and on. SAME THING in terms of lying that is now a cultural truth).

We have as a nation built up our messed society on a bunch of lies given to use and reinforced by law and action for 50 years.. NOW you want people to stand up and fight against such? but if they did they would also be fighting against feminism as well, as there is no compartmentalizing false truths that are foundational!!!

the men, like Swedish men, are complying with the wishes of women and have lost the will to fight… (this is trumps appeal, a man who will fight like a man not like a woman – he may not be 100% correct, but at least he doesn’t cave when he is right and cant stand up to opposition)

The whole point of all this was to make a society like pre WWII germany… one in which women voted freebies and men lost the will to fight… to stand up for their families, their jobs, their society, their religions, and instead help promote hookup culture, STDs as normal, shoving your breasts into the argument as a means to win debate, and on and on..

  31. I like W, and his father. I think both are honorable men who tried to do their best for the nation.

But I have problems with W’s actions after the World Trade Center attack. Here’s my thinking:

First, his calling Islam a religion of peace. Take that one line out of his speech and it accomplishes the same thing without giving liberals and the PC crowd ammunition to use against us — and our nation — later. I don’t know who wrote that speech, nor do I know if W edited that line into the speech, but that was a gratuitous comment, perhaps intended to prevent vigilanteism, but now used against people who want to stand up to Islam.

I should admit that I did not see it that way at the time. In fact the editor of the local paper asked me to write an op-ed for the September 12 edition of the paper, and I included a similar sentiment without knowing W would be saying this a few days later. It is human nature, or American generosity, not to want to demean or incite people who are borderline enemies, but it turns out to have been inimical to our best interests.

The other thing that troubles me about W’s action immediately after the WTC attack is his having allowed planeloads of Saudi students to fly out of the US while all air transport was shut down for days following the attack. First question I have, is how were all those students organized and made to show up at a local airport and leave the country? That sounds like a conspiracy right there, just as the fact that Muslims were dancing in the streets immediately after the attacks and before we could pin responsibility on anyone. I’m thinking the Saudi embassy must have contacted those hundreds of students within minutes of the first attack and said “leave school, leave the country, go back to Saudi Arabia.” Does that not seem more than coincidental? I have been in charge of an American embassy following civil unrest that required me to contact all Americans in country. Not an easy task.

Aside from that I think W did a good job. I do not think the left would be saying what they are, though, except as a way of forcing the rest of us to accept their ill-advised policy of ignoring Islam’s bloodthirsty nature.

  32. Do you really think its the same issue in 10 countries of the west who have similar laws and coordinated movements, and is that way without coordination and a goal that each of the 10 societies pretends is not?

in a normal world were one movement did not prerep their society for 50 years before the next stage, such similar accross the board copies and outcomes would never be the same…

you have been under attack for decades but its below a level of response, so you can pretend that its not happening, the forces doing it are not doing it, and that living a lie is how life should be lived.

wait till the race movement and islamic movement turns its eyes to the agreed upon evil white men and realize that these white women are the breeders of white men – and you have to get rid of the source…

dont think that would happen? well prior to socialism the idea of working 75 million people to death to make roads and such, was not even comprehensible in the most evil books… nor was the idea of factory extermination of a scape goat (like today) and their breeders either.

    history repeats..

  33. Islam is the religion of peace?
Well, then why are there over 100 verses in the Koran calling for violence against infidels?

  34. I’m told Islam is a religion of peace. Unless, of course, we infidels goad the adherents of the religion of peace into violence. Oddly, the faithful of Islam are easier to goad into violence then every other less peaceful religion.

I’m also told that the reason Muslims hate us is because of US imperialist and colonialist government policies.

If that’s true, is it also the reason Muslims hate the imperialist, colonial superpowers of Nigeria, Mali, and Thailand?

Thank God for George W,Bush and his War Cabinet and our Warriors who loved and honored him. Far, FAR different now.

That is indeed part of the story. But there were also Saudi students, not related to bin Laden, who were on planes out of the country very soon after the attack.

  38. I had the “most terrorism in the world IS Islamic” conversation online the other day with a woman who turned out to be Muslim. She’s an American and seems to be distraught over Islamic terrrorism — as Americans SHOULD be — and doesn’t want it to have anything to do with Islam. But it does. I told her that saying this terrorism isn’t Islamic is just like saying the Nazis weren’t German. Acknowledging that Nazis were German is just acknowledging reality. It doesn’t mean that Germany was inherenly Nazi, that all Germans were Nazis, that many Germans didn’t hate the Nazis, that Germans who lived in other countries were Nazis… it just means seeing and admitting the truth that Nazis were German.
There are many other conversations to have about whether Islam is true, whether it can exist without its aim of ruling the world, etc. But these have nothing to do with acknowledging that nearly every terrorist active in the world for the last several decades has been Muslim.

  39. Example of why things are the way they are:
    Documentary on History channel
    The World Wars episode two
They are discussing Hitler, and after using left right rhetoric throughout the documentary, they get to the part where Hitler joins his party… NOT the National Socialist German Workers Party but the Anti-Government Workers Party – you know, like today with the left saying republicans and tea party are Nazis because they want small government which means anti-government… etc… and the idiots cant think “how can a totalitarian be anti-government?”

If this is what passes for documentary, and womens studies is to make sure women know who to hate for a thousand years of oppression, and race studies is to teach how to be racist, but believe the opposite, with the lead force being campus and not campus feminists and lgbt…

well, it wont be long before some force will try the line
and the confused population which is the young that fight not the old that sit around and chatter, wont know which way to turn.

No, I did NOT leave out the word “pretend.” I said what I meant and I meant what I said.

To explain: the type of person I’ve described here does not pretend to feel nice and tolerant. The person actually feels nice and tolerant. Whether that feeling is based on actual niceness and tolerance is a separate issue. But the feeling is not a pretense, the feeling is a feeling. The person does not pretend to feel that way.

Feelings can be based on misunderstandings, fooling oneself, stupidity, ignorance, all sorts of things. Feelings also can can be pretense—in other words, a person can deliberately pretend to have a feeling, for example pretending to feel hurt in order to gain services or sympathy from others. It is also highly likely that there are some people who pretend to be nice and tolerant in order to gain approval from others. But what I am describing here is people actually feeling nice and tolerant through espousing a certain activity and/or point of view.

  42. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is a hyperfeminist, a lesbian activist. She hates patriarchies, especially old white men who tell women what to do.

But see a photo that she herself published, wearing a hijab [in white scarf] and sitting in the women’s only section of an Ottawa mosque, like a good little subservient, submissive woman, obedient to sharia law!

Of course, if sharia law were really in effect, she’d be thrown off the top of an apartment block, or hanged from a crane, which is the usual death sentence for homosexuality under radical Islam.

This isn’t just a case of, anything for a vote. It’s an insight into her mind. She despises our western, Judeo-Christian culture. But she’s an obedient little girl when it comes to the most reactionary patriarchy in the world – radical Islam.

  44. Israel Future
I think the more important question for us as Jews is not what to do about Muslim extremists, but what are we going to do about Jewish extremists. I wrote about this on my blog today, but from a different angle to the one you took here.

Here you are asking what we can do to fight jihadists and will current efforts make a difference…. I doubt it. Rabbi Sacks made a good point in one of his recent talks that it will take muslims to stop muslims extremists, just as it took christians to stop christian wars and jewish introspection post-churban) to stop jewish in-fighting.

I don’ think that the rest of the world will stop making the distinction between ‘The West vs Jihad’ and ‘Israel vs Hamas and Hezbollah’. I think the world sees them as distinct issues.

The BHO administration simply refuses to lable Muslim terrorists as terroirsts or as Muslims.

Hence the stats now cranked out have been massively manipulated to portray jihad as nothing ‘special.’

Whereas’ the FBI admits that they’re stopping plots CONSTANTLY from that quarter.

  47. It is also highly likely that there are some people who pretend to be nice and tolerant in order to gain approval from others.

I work with a lot and the reason i say they pretend is that they act out their intolerance in passive agressive ways that keep their nastiness below the level of actual perception under the of self promotion through orchestrated appearance. And the left even gives them nasty things to do under the auspices of the outcome being nice.

so if your a certain class, and you have worked your arse off, the professors will select students for their PHd teams that in essence protect their image, and by doing so, damn thousands to lives worse off who deserved not to have that happen. the worst part of it is the lack of tellig them the truth so that they could switch what they do to something else, rather than let them use up their lives to reach a dead end that cant be broached and they cant go back and change course.

whole floors and areas of the place i work are now so politically correct that its not funny, and that’s cause the nice tolerant people are overwhelmingly selecting people so that image cant be questioned.

and MANY of them know what they are dong and even talk about their worries of how they are not happy about it, but have to do this thing they know is bad as their self image and pretend happiness (and it is pretend), must be maintained.

in fact, if you act worred about whats going on, express questions about it, and more, you will be targeted. but if you walk like you have a lithium drip on, regardless of what is happening, then your ok, and its fine, and no need for improvements…

so there is a lot of pretend happiness with the left, who find it easier to pretend everything is fine, and hide in that, than it is to stand up and have their actual opinions be known.

academia is full of it… and the only ones who are allowed to be happliy disatisfied is the designated superior classes… if one of the inferior classes grouses, complains want to change things etc… your going to lose your job.

despite all that they do at work, they force me to pretend its all great and not say a thing out of fear.

so i am talking out of personal experience of being forced to pretend to be happy… this makes the bosses feel good about the bad they do, like maintaining an averate 20% below market salary with no raises and complain how they have to pay market rates when the person leaves (sometimes cause this practice has caused economic destruction in the most loyal employees)

I HAVE to pretend to be happy or instead of being homeless in a couple of years, i can start being homeless now..

a LOT of people live like this…
    hanging on in quite desperation
which is also a form of pretend happiness and outward image

  48. Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Soil by Group, From 1980 to 2005, According to FBI Database

you have to trust the person who did that to be very accurate when its easier not to be… what are the sources… i would say that a leftist doing that graph, would make things appear, like jewish terrorism… that are not actually real.

go ahead… explain to us the jewish terrorism!!!
where? what? oh yeah, its settling in land captured when may countries attacked them when they were weak and ganged up and instead of losing and dying, they survived and kept the land…

but the outcome they are fightinf for is blood and soil for palestine like nazi germans wanted blood and soil for germans, and the american left is looing for blood and soil for american indians..

and most of who they attacked has no genetic link to anyone in that past… the vast majority of people in the US comeing in the later immigration waves.

so what does a decedent of impoverished by black fungus on potatoes have to do with the racism of the Spanish against American Indians for 200 years before it became a British colony, and why are Americans responsible for what brits did that were kicked out by the Americans? and of course in their desire to hate whites and blame todays groupings, they left out the dutch… the dutch were as colonial as the brits with places in india, indonesia, thailand, etc..

its a unreal fantasy based on non real stuff that gets people emotional to the point of wanting to kill others and not have brains about things. … the worst of it are many smart africans who believe that they are part indian (like oprah and others) only to find out that they are NOT related at all, and are largely irish…

  49. I think the pretend issue your pointing out is whether you accept belief as a person puts it forth, even if deluded, which is what your pointing out, and i am pointing out what it looks like from the outside… yes, being deluded to the point of self belief can make a pretend feeling seem real, but what defines real feelings and not real feelings is not the visceral perception of it, but the judgement of whether its valid by the actual realness of things.. otherwise, psychology would have no purpose to change a feeling with no basis into ones that have basis..

the pretender does not need to know they are pretending… and i think thats where you miss my point.

pretend – speak and act so as to make it appear that something is the case when in fact it is not.

and i am using this definition: To affect is to make a consciously artificial show of having qualities that one thinks would look well and impress others

this is the WHOLE basis of PC control… getting people to pretend things that they know are not right till they DO see 5 fingers instead of three… to change their selections and to pretend that PC did not influence them, but that this change is natural.

without this PC thing, germans would have protested thei evil of nazis and opposed them, but as long as their contemporaries were pretending to things to hide in their affectation, they never knew how many others sided with them

you can see this with trump… the left is upset as trump is giving the people permission to show what they have been pretending to not show, or not oppose, and with him taking the brunt are willing to be called mean.

in fact now that the washington fact checker was found out to not check facts they are trying to say trump made fun of a rare condition that the author has so that he is a mean man making fun of the disabled.

and dialoging to conesnsus is about using this pretend thing to create such affects in the population that could only be revealed if they compared notes, but they would not compare notes for fear of revealing themselves, so they pretend to get on board and change their minds.

  50. If a person goes into a bad neighborhood to clean it up, wants allies and informants, why would he declare war against everyone living in the neighborhood?

That’s called being a military idiot. When everyone is against you, that’s also called losing.

So long as Democrats were in the US, they would not allow American foreign policy to become a Crusade, a war to protect Christians in Iraq against Muslims. In fact, the US has bombed people for fighting Muslim death squads before, in Serbia.

What people are now arguing about is how to win a political debate, not a military campaign. Which is why they will lose, as always, against the power of Islamic Jihad.

  51. “Who is happy?” asks a sage in the great Jewish wisdom compendium “Sayings of the Fathers.” Answer: “He who is contented with his lot.”

  52. Artfldgr:

In order to pretend a person must be know it’s a pretense, except when it’s a pretense to oneself. In this case, we’re talking about having a feeling. Although (as I already wrote) some people could be fooling themselves about the reality of whether they in fact are nice and tolerant people, they are not fooling themselves about how they’re feeling. When liberals say they want to allow the Syrian refugees in, it makes those liberals feel nice and tolerant, and that feeling is a real feeling although it may be based on an error or self-deception. The feeling itself is not a pretense unless they are aware of the deception.

You write that to pretend is to “speak and act so as to make it appear that something is the case when in fact it is not.” The definition assumes the person knows what he or she is doing, and that it is a pretense. Definition:

to cause or attempt to cause (what is not so) to seem so:
to pretend illness; to pretend that nothing is wrong.
    2.
to appear falsely, as to deceive; feign:
to pretend to go to sleep.
    3.
    to make believe:
The children pretended to be cowboys.
    4.
    to presume; venture:
I can’t pretend to say what went wrong.
    5.
to allege or profess, especially insincerely or falsely:
He pretended to have no knowledge of her whereabouts.
    verb (used without object)
    6.
    to make believe.
    7.
to lay claim to (usually followed by to):
    She pretended to the throne.
    8.
to make pretensions (usually followed by to):
    He pretends to great knowledge.
    9.
Obsolete. to aspire, as a suitor or candidate (followed by to).

  53. But the repatriation of Saudi students happened awfully fast to be merely good work. Just saying’.

Richard Clark and other Clinton bureaucrats had something to do with that.

But the Saudis are very familiar with what happens when they stay around for terrorists to target them. It’s an instinct by now.

  54. If Neo’s point is that Bush was actually effective in combating radical Islam then no cigar.

The idea that any Dear Leader should be effective against Islamic Jihad, is a retarded idea from a public education corrupted by Islamic Stockholme Syndrome.

  55. The idea that any Dear Leader should be effective against Islamic Jihad, is a retarded idea from a public education corrupted by Islamic Stockholme Syndrome.
….It’s a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages. The first one being “demoralization”. It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism….

The result? The result you can see … the people who graduated in the 60’s, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can’t get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior.
    Yuri Bezmenov

  56. A lot of people also think that if they leave the job to the generals and the leaders of nations, that all they have to do is to go to the mall and buy stuff, their mission and duty are done. Islamic jihad will somehow be bombed and killed without any more input from them.

They underestimate the power of the Left and of Islam.

WWII wasn’t won because FDR saved America. America’s manpower and resources of the people, is what saved FDR, from a war he lied about not getting into but anyways.

This American decadence has been happening for a century at least. This idea that some national leader and messiah will save people from X threat. Nobody is going to save you from, and nobody should, given the state of Western decadence. If people want to win, they are going to have to do something, personally, about Islam one way or another. Has nothing to do with sitting around waiting for Bush II or some other leader to Order you to get up and do something.
