Happy New Year! — 17 Comments

  1. Sounds like you work at a hospital, Scott, but wherever it is, thanks for being there tonight!

  2. Happy New Year!
Yes, a Hogmany bash that the Scottish expats are hosting. Pray for my liver.

  3. Dinner party, followed by football (Cotton Bowl), then watch the fireworks at the Space Needle at midnight. The fireworks should be great because the ceiling and visibility is unlimited (CAVU) here – very unusual for this time of year. Not very exciting, but we will find it quite satisfying.

Happy New Year to all. May we all live long and prosper!

  4. Home tonight, with my daughter and the doggles and cattles – nothing special planned, aside from having home-made Reuben grilled sandwiches and baked French fries for supper.

We did our first-of-the-month shopping for staples today, as my pension and daughter’s VA disability were paid: the membership warehouse, our preferred meat market of choice (Granzin’s in New Braunfels, if anyone is interested), Tractor Supply for pet food and bedding for the chickens and finally the local super-HEB grocery. This took the largest part of the day Don’t think we’ll stay up late, although before we retire for the evening, we may drink a toast in Martinelli’s finest non-alcoholic apple cider bubbly.

  5. Happy New Year everyone. I must admit that I’m glad to see the end of 2015; it’s been a tough year.

  6. I have to agree with Carl in Atlanta: good riddance, 2015! And welcome, 2016. It’s gotta be a better year.

Here’s wishing everyone on this blog a happy new year. And most importantly, my most fervent wishes that Hillary and Bernie get everything they deserve this year. In spades. . .

  7. having kiddos & their spouses over tomorrow for
Chinese (dad’s treat) & watching the outdoor hockey game between our Bruins & Habs !!!
So nothing special tonite. I tend to find New Years Eve kind of a downer being a *bitter clinger* & all !! LOL
Never the less Happy 2016 everybody !

  8. Happy New Year to you and yours, Neo. I hope we all have a better 2016.

Also, thank you for what you do so indefatigably in keeping fresh information flowing along with your always well-thought-out opinions. Your blog truly seasons and nourishes the intellectual stew. God Bless you.

  9. Happy New Year Neo! And, everyone here! I’m having a dull yet safe New Year in Colorado visiting family and just chilling out. With all the crazy out there now, I feel that might be the best choice. Watching the ball drop on the tube…

Let’s hope that this coming year is a good one for our country. You can’t count the American people out. We are resilient and innovative, and we hate being told what to do by the government. I’m hoping that will only continue in spite of it all. Cheers!

  10. Prepping for tomorrow’s family gathering to celebrate the new year,”Sweet ‘Sixteen”. Collard greens, beans, pork, sauerkraut for the daring, cole slaw for the faint of heart. Happy New Year, all.

  11. Went out for Mexican food last evening…came home and watched Liberace on TV…went to bed early…got up at 6AM this morning, went out and pruned some apple trees. Let the good times roll!

  12. Tried to post at midnight but post not accepted.

Any how, a very Happy New Year to all for what looks like a consequential year.

  13. We did what we do most every Sat night. He falls asleep on the couch, and I surf the internet. I worked in the food and beverage industry years ago in college and grad school. I never go out on NYE.

May all have a happy and holy New Year, and may God have mercy on our country. We could really use a reprieve.
