We are pleased to announce the engagement of… — 13 Comments

  1. As the saying goes, Hall “was rode hard and put up wet.”
To the urbanites here, that is not how you should treat your horse.
And she is 59. Hardly young and comely.

  2. Rupert Murdoch is 84 and Jerry Hall is 59. Maybe not quite May-December, more like September-December? But whatever.

  3. Of monumental unimportance. Everyone has a right to make a damn fool of themselves. But this is an example of the truism that, “there’s no fool, like an old fool”.

  4. the easist way to tranfer wealth and not pay taxes is to marry, wait, divorce, voila

  5. I am reminded of the line from Cyranno de Bergerac

I thought it like a fat slug sliding towards a flower above!

  6. I thought Cornhead is an attorney. If so, I’d also think he’d have musings on the Murdock-Hall pre-nuptials, instead of sack musings. I mean, c’mon, Hall’s worth is only $15mill, which is peanuts, even in Iowa, where peanuts are not grown.
Speaking of which, I think Jagger’s cited net worth of $350 mill is spuriously low. Saw a Forbes or Fortune mag estimate of Keith Richards’ net worth maybe 8or 10 years back, over $500 mill then.

  7. All subject to arm’s length negotiations with full disclosure and both sides represented.

Value obtained and exchanged on both sides. Win. Win.

    Love.

I don’t think she is all the good looking but I have just seen one picture of her.

  8. In view of Jerry Hall’s current youth, I believe Murdock will wait until she turns 60 before he takes her as a bride.

  9. Just looking at the image and wondering: when it was he grew that bizarre Mohawk he has cresting along the top of his skull and trailing down his back?

  10. The traditional rule is that marriages are appropriate if the younger partner’s age at least equals half the older partner’s age plus seven. This marriage passes that test easily.
