  1. The Mullah’s didn’t humiliate America, they provided the U.S. an opportunity to demonstrate that negotiation and diplomacy always work… (sarc off)

I’m now convinced that this was a prearranged set-up between Iran and the Obama administration to do just that.

The holes in this charade are so big as to drive one of the boats through. GPS, radios, ability to tow the ‘disabled boat and a practiced, smooth apology by the sailor’s senior officer who kept smiling while ALL the rest of the sailors looked grim… this was a setup, plain and simple. Political theater…

  2. Geoffrey,
And neither Obama or Kerry was nominated for an Oscar, although we may have to wait a year for the 2016 nominees.

  3. First the engine broke down and now it is bad navigating.

And no ammo or mounted guns?

None of this sounds right at all.

DOD probably had instructions to cover up and not create another Gulf of Tonkin incident.

  4. “I’m no sort of hero, but I do believe in the power of this.”

I believe I’ll have another beer, and make popcorn.

  5. I tend to agree, the “broke down” scenario is insulting in its transparency as an out-and-out lie. I doubt the incident was orchestrated by either admin, but Iran is clearly no slouch when it comes to geopolitical opportunism.

I’m pretty sure that Indonesia is hardly “moderate” in it’s Muslim sensibilities, it is probably just suffering for its alignment with the US.

  6. Eric, please see the comments at Neo’s “Iran and the US: first, the abasement” for my response to your criticism of my use of the Hoffer quote.

    I’d appreciate it.

  7. Ib1netmon,

That was my take until I saw the pictures of the sailors and saw the too smooth, practiced apology. That apology had been rehearsed, no one in that supposed position, (uncertain of release, may be facing torture) speaks that clearly and unhesitatingly. The ‘tell’ is that all the other sailors were grim faced. Only the officer knew what was actually going on and his arrogance interred with his act. He’s smirking in self-satisfaction in every picture.

  8. Get ready for “For the Duration of this Emergency, Hussein Obola will not ascend to his Third Term…”

That was the joke years before, wasn’t it. Finally, it was over. Oh, it was over all right, just maybe not what people expected.

  9. When you look at the Face of the Left, imagine them looking down on American patriots and loyalists, then commanding reinforcements to:

    “Stand down, let them die”

That is what the Left is, if you wish an image of them.

Hussein at least, gets a big phat smile on his face when he sees American patriots die or get tortured. That’s just how they are. You can no more change them than you can take over the Throne of God.

  10. What’s happening in Oregon and across the West is indeed a land grab. The feds unconstitutional percecution (cruel & unusual punishment) of the Hammonds is meant to intimidate ranchers across the west.

Radical, leftist environmental groups are in control of the BLM & EPA (regulatory capture) and are using those federal departments, along with activist federal judges, to seize ever greater amounts of private lands.

The BLM is denying permits to ranchers for the use public lands for the grazing of livestock, often the only economically profitable use of these lands. The denials are based on patently specious grounds and many of these ranches have had permits granted for generations. This all started with the Clinton administration, greatly lessened under Bush and was ramped up to much higher levels with Obama.

  11. 13 Hours is a must read for those who want to better understand what happened on the ground. The intro notes that it is an attempt to document the event as clearly as possible while steering clear of the politics that embroiled the nation in the aftermath of the attack. I plan to see the film next Tuesday which is senior citizen day at the theatre.

    GB,

On the 2nd day President Cruz can by EO return all BLM land to the states and disband the epa. 😉
