2016 identity politics, Republican-style
Sixty percent of the Republican vote in Iowa last night went for two Hispanics and an African-American, and 100% of the Democrat vote went for a couple of tired, old, decrepit white people.
That’s pretty funny. I don’t think they’re so very tired and decrepit, though, since although I’m younger than they are, I’m not younger enough to feel immune to the charge. Rush better watch out, too. He’s 65.
It’s the Republicans who are the party of youth these days, and of diversity. But they will never get credit for it, because Republican hispanics and blacks and women aren’t real hispanics and blacks and women.
And here’s another fact for you: I’ve noticed that people just assume that Ted Cruz is a lot older than Marco Rubio. Well, he is older—about 5 months older. It’s just that Rubio’s got that baby face.
And it occurs to me that the Republican Party owes Fidel Castro a small debt of gratitude, because two of the candidates probably wouldn’t be here without him.
I don’t know where to put this next bit, so I may as well put it here. I noticed that the campaign of 2016 is the Year of the Gorgeous Republican Wives.
I’m not kidding. People call Cruz a nerd, but this woman apparently doesn’t think so. Or maybe she likes nerds:
Rubio’s wife was a Miami Dolphins cheerleader. She’s had four children, and still looks like this:
You’d expect Donald Trump’s wife to look good—as a former model—and of course she does. It isn’t easy to find a photo of her smiling, however. For some reason, she seems to adopt a sullen look, perhaps a relic from her modeling days? I found a smiley one, though, and then a more typical frowning (maybe “sultry” is a better word?) one:
Melania would also be the first US First Lady who has modeled in the nude (and no guys; that’s not a link to her nude photos). But in these progressive times, she wouldn’t be the first First Lady worldwide who has modeled in the nude. I believe that honor (?) belongs to the wife of Nicholas Sarkozy of France, Carla Bruni.

Rubio’s wife was born in Florida to parents who had emigrated from Colombia:

That second picture of Melania makes me wonder whether she and Donald make faces at one another across the dinner table.
Melania does often have a rather grumpy and hard look. I imagine it comes partly from her modeling background—that’s a “look” that’s often favored, so perhaps she accentuates it. She’s an attractive woman, but IMHO it’s not an attractive look.
Rubio’s wife (whom I once saw in person, the only one of the three I’ve ever seen) is very petite, and seems younger than her years. When she is with their daughters you could easily take them for 3 sisters, with her as oldest. She has a very sweet demeanor.
Barbara Walters interviewed Trump and Melania a couple of months ago. Melania starts talking around the 1:25 point in this video clip. She actually has a nice smile.

Given that she’s married to the bombastic Trump, who turns mean spirited if crossed or even challenged… is the wife’s sullen look really surprising? Women who marry for money (in this case probable) rarely are happy with the cost.
Someone (I don’t remember who) pointed out after Martin O’Malley dropped out that the average age of Democrat candidates just jumped to 71. I thought that was an interesting observation.
As for the wives of candidates, I don’t much take note of them during the campaign and consider that a distraction. The one who becomes First Lady (or First Man, in Hillary’s case), though, is an important part of the White House. I hope that will be Heidi.
Look, if we’re going to be honest here, and we’re just talking about looks rather than politics or character or anything, Melania is really not attractive. Her eyes and upper lip make her look like she’s had facial reconstruction surgery after a car crash. I’m not judging her except in the most superficial way, but…yeah. 4/10 if I’m being polite.
Heidi, at least at campaign events, seems charming and classy. Frank Fiorina would make a great first husband.

I do not think anything is gained by labeling the current Mrs. Trump a “whore”. Sounds like something the donald would say.
Melania reminds me quite a bit of the young Sophia Loren.
The “Game” community that backs Trump, also often prefer Eastern European women over Western European or American, due to the contamination from feminism.
It’s one thing Trump perhaps shares with those group, born on the internet and in various sub forums a decade and a half ago. A cultural connection which was solidified on twitter, when he began to realize that there was a group of people he was culturally close to, that weren’t New Yorker values.

I have my own sources, and do not rely upon the Leftist propaganda branches nor even blogger links. But that link I dug up because the Left had run a character assassination on Roosh v. There was some kind of controversy, which needed continuing details and illumination, so I had to look up the recent sources.
It is also a tie in and introduction to the “game” community, so to speak. Which is getting larger and larger, and incorporation more and more white Democrat males, or males in general, in the West.
