Black Lives Matter is not leaderless — 37 Comments

  1. It’s my understanding that Soros is indeed funding BLM.

I have no idea whether Alicia Garza, DeRay McKesson and other relatively prominent ‘activists’ are the actual leaders of the BLM.

But I do know that “follow the money” still applies. So the ‘connective links’ between Soros and BLM… know who the leaders are and may well be the actual leaders.

“The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.” George Soros

  2. We should stop calling this group BLM. It is actually BDM–Black Deaths Matter (when a cop was involved). Show me some evidence that any of the BDM were working with Trayvon Martin while he was in school to steer him away from stealing jewelry. Show me examples of them tutoring black kids so they would be able to read and add. Show me their boycotts of trashy rap music that shows no respect for black girls. I could go on forever with the things they do not bother with. I know that there are some fine people in the black communities trying to do these things, but how much recognition do they get from lefty whites, the media, or all those concerned protesters? Most likely they are labeled “Uncle Toms.”

  3. OMT: All those pols wo want more gun control should be issued invitations from police department to join with police to confiscate illegal guns in places like Chicago. I’d love to see Nancy Pelosi walking the beat.

  4. Here in Omaha BLM organized a protest via Facebook. More to come this summer.

Facebook and Twitter makes all these protests possible.

  5. Carol Swain, a conservative black professor at Vanderbilt with a fascinating and inspiring background, is under considerable pressure from her university over her criticisms of BLM– further proof, as though any were needed, of the contempt for free speech on the academic left.

  6. I read some of the Facebook posts for the Omaha BLM protests. They buy into the false narrative of Travyon Martin and Michael Brown.

The amazing thing is that nearly every week in Omaha there is one black-on-black shooting. Omaha is not Chicago but it wasn’t like this ten years ago.

  7. David French has just posted an excellent piece on the true nature of BLM at National Review.

  8. the BLM movement is not some grass-roots mass of protoplasm that just spontaneously rose from social media, it does have founders and people who try to direct its course, people with a history of agitation, activism, and extreme leftism

It was so much easier to recognize the political aims of radical black activists in the 1960s because they called openly for “societal upheaval”. But the three women behind Black Lives Matter come across in their demeanor and language as pretty much mainstream, or at least not as revolutionaries.

  9. The 60s and 70s BLA groups, like Symbionese Liberation Army for example, were organized by leftist white women and black convicts. The BLM seems to have leftist black women running things. Maybe that is progress in 50 years but I doubt it.

  10. I’d settle for them staying home. It’s hard enough for the Dems to dig up enough dead people to vote to overcome the live GOP vote, now they have to dig up enough to overcome the stay-homes as well. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it!

  11. Ignoring the far larger threat, while mocking the lesser threat (regardless of how justified) provides a fine example of an inability to see the forest for the trees.

So any future complaints by that party, should the larger threat manifest, will be an example of a refusal to accept accountability for prior positions, which would be grounds for dismissal of all claims by that party to any future viability.

And yes, Trump the lesser threat will almost certainly be, at best a mixed blessing.

  12. Reminds me of this article in which Jeb Bush attributes the Trump phenomenon to Trump and apparently still doesn’t grasp the activist character of what happened:
    http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/287244-bush-people-will-feel-betrayed-by-trump

It also reminds that conservatives, should they ever determine to compete for real, can’t pass the buck on the activist game, not to a political party like the GOP, not to government authorities like Commissioner Bratton.

  13. Those who have hitched their wagons to the great leader as he leads them into the wilderness of defeat (Donner Party) complain about others who see their captain as a buffoon and incompetent. You bought him he’s yours. All of it in all his glory.

  14. Well, the piece i add after this may turn appearance of ignorance into potentially wishful thinking:

Neoneocon: In the case of the leaders of the “leaderless” BLM, the goal is not what Bill Bratton (and a lot of BLM followers) may think it is. The goal is very much in the Cloward-Piven mold–to force a crisis that leads to a societal upheaval that moves the country even further to the left, rather than to peacefully solve an immediate problem.

    One major Reason:

Obama is harnessing the increasing attacks on police – and the periodic shootings of people by stressed cops – to push his agenda to federalize state and local police forces.

“I want to start moving on constructive actions that are actually going to make a difference,” he said during his evening press conference in Poland when he was asked about the Dallas attack.

Those actions, he said, would be based on the recommendations of the panel that he picked after the 2014 street riots in Ferguson, Missouri. The panel offered “practical concrete solutions that can reduce – if not eliminate – the problems of racial bias,” Obama said.

The dramatic shootings are an opportunity to push that agenda, Obama said. …

Obama began touting the panel’s recommendations in March 2015. The report, titled “President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing Report,” was published in May 2015.

The report urges the federal government to federalize police training and practices, via the use of federal lawsuits, grants and threats to cut federal aid. So far, Obama’s deputies have cajoled and sued more than 30 police jurisdictions to adopt federal rules in a slow-motion creation of a national police system, similar to the slow-motion creation of a federal-run health-sector via Obamacare.

  15. It may come that the Feds can impose standards and the local police can pretend to comply. The Good Soldier Schweik.

  16. Expat: Trayvon Martin while he was in school to steer him away from stealing jewelry. Show me examples of them tutoring black kids so they would be able to read and add. Show me their boycotts of trashy rap music that shows no respect for black girls. I could go on forever with the things they do not bother with.

JONATHAN HAIDT is, as usual, the soul of moderation below and I agree with much of his analysis. He makes a point few Leftists make: That “racists” are not usually objecting to the race or skin color of another group but rather to things that go with that race or skin color. So he sees most ascriptions of “racism” to non-Leftists as missing the point. It is an avoidance of the real issues.

This is why no one can point out that dark skinned people from India are all over the halls of business, and so on and so forth..

why do people dislike “gypsies”, because of what they do as a cultural group… why does America tolerate satanists more than extremist Muslims?

this is why the term racism was coined about culture, and in terms of approval. the disapproval side is the one that calls those that maintain their culture as racist… so slavs (in the original trotsky work) were racists for wanting to remain slavs. And whites are racist because they want to keep western civ and have blacks and others ‘assimilate’ and destroy their cultural ways.

and the left wants to be the arbiter of who merges with what and which is the dominant trait that stays or goes… playing a form of cultural god, which never works out as the biological reason for it not working out is that the losing group becomes extinct…

and to that i leave you with this to think on:

    When a Culture Unmans Itself
    https://pjmedia.com/blog/when-a-culture-unmans-itself/?singlepage=true

The feminist hordes in their anti-male animus, along with their Beta and Delta collaborators, have overrun a once-great and hardy civilization. As Klavan puts it, “The future goes where men go and does what men make it do. If men go down the drain, the future will follow.” The expression of male sexual desire in Western culture is hedged by rules of appropriate conduct and a code of chivalry, occasionally honored in the breach, yet relatively intact. But when male sexuality in its natural manifestations is regarded as an evil that must be controlled, reviled, prosecuted and ultimately bred out of men, societal collapse is inevitable. The irony is palpable. For a culture that targets men can neither defend nor reproduce itself and its days are numbered.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The numbers of the losing society that supported western civ no longer has enough children to preserve that culture against higher numbers of others asserting its destruction.

in essence, lower than replacement birth rate with a dominant age in the 50s, means one cultural group is on the outs and there is no way to reverse it… at least that i know of nor the power of numbers to choose whether to accept alternatives once known to be negative.

The most common age of white American residents is 56 years old, 27 years old for Asian Americans, 25 years old for black Americans, and nine years old for Hispanic Americans, according to June 2016 census data.

It was recently reported that whites were now the minority when it came to births in 2015. Fifty-two percent of births in 2015 were of racial and ethnic minorities. In 2015, whites also became a minority when it came to people under age five. In 2013, the fertility rate among whites was 59 per thousand women of reproductive age. For Hispanics it was 73 births per thousand women aged 15-44.

  17. Amazing to watch MSM and 0 disassociate the Dallas police killer from the BLM movement. Masterful propaganda.
Remember what they did with Dylann Roof and the confederate battle flag and Southern culture in general?

  18. Anyone up for a good conspiracy theory, or at least Doomsday Apocalypse Scenario?
Tune in next week to see what happens.

“More than two weeks ago — before the massacre of police in Dallas — Breitbart Texas reported a warning from the president of the Cleveland police union, Steve Loomis. Cops and convention-goers, said Loomis, will be “sitting ducks” at the Republican National Convention, which begins on 18 July, a week from Monday, at Quicken Loans Arena.

Loomis and the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association were worried that the city leadership hasn’t been taking the acknowledged threat of large scale rioting seriously.”

  19. OM@9:01,

No, it will not happen that way. One of the first things a dictatorship does is to create, through coercion or bribes, a vast network of informants. You will not be able to trust, to put it mildly, everyone you may encounter. Nationalization of all levels of law enforcement is the ticket to fascism.

  20. Aesopfan,

One does not need a crystal ball to see what is coming. This is a big mistake on the part of the progressives. I am old enough, perhaps you also, to know we have seen this play out before. Yes, yes I get it that the progressives seek chaos and destruction from which their utopia like a phoenix will rise reborn from the ashes. Fools. They think they are only a few slices from the end of the Fabian sausage. Fools.

I feel my natural optimism returning.

  21. Bratton, sadly, has been truckling to William Wilhelm, aka Bill de Blasio, Red mayor of New York City. Not his own man anymore.

  22. I’m starting to read again about the black parents (including de Blasio) having to give their boys special lessons on how to act with police. Maybe they should be giving them lessons on how to treat all other people. How do their kids treat their teachers, shop clerks, other pedestrians on the sidewalk? A person who treats all others with courtesy doesn’t need special lessons on handling the police, and if enough polite kids lived in the hood, the police wouldn’t have to spend so much time patrolling there. There are far too many blacks whose parents never transitioned them out of the terrible twos.

  23. parker Says: Nationalization of all levels of law enforcement is the ticket to fascism.

thats why the nickname of the german workers socialist party really meant “the nationalizers”… to save the politics they changed the history of meaning – and so changed our ability to notice the warning signs and where they go… same thing with the term holocaust, it was oroginally conflagration, but by coining a new term, they ended up dissassociating the quotes and missives of the Engels (mostly) and Marx. Same with everyone saying Final solution… the whole of it is Final solution to the jewish question… but if they said that, people would ask, whats the jewish question, and that would lead back to the paper that marx wrote and argued that made jews and capitalism equivalent and its inventors, and promoters, and if you didnt remove them from the planet you could and would not stop capitalism… ergo, we dont know that the austrian dude was just working off of marx, as we made that race hate his own, when it was not, though he did run with it…

there is a whole lot like this, but we dont read the original texts and as a population mostly do not know. yeah there are people in that population that do know, but they are quickly marginalized away from those that dont and follow the march of the red flag.

  24. Forgot to mention that todays daily news is trying to equate a woman being arrested by american police the same as the students that stood up to the tanks in tianeman square…

The Baton Rouge photograph that everyone is talking about
    http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/11/us/baton-rouge-protester-photograph/

    the image link:

The symbolism of a single person’s nonviolent resistance against a large, heavily armed opposition is reminiscent of a handful of other famous photographs, including Marc Riboud’s shot of a Vietnam war protester holding a flower in front of armed police, or the image of the lone protester confronting a tank in Tiananmen Square.

not by a freaking long shot

that is, unless we get to kill her and send her family a bill for the bullet. .

    Tank Man
Little is publicly known of the man’s identity or that of the commander of the lead tank. Shortly after the incident, the British tabloid the Sunday Express named him as Wang Weilin (王维林), a 19-year-old student. who was later charged with “political hooliganism” and “attempting to subvert members of the People’s Liberation Army.” However, this claim has been rejected by internal Communist Party of China documents, which reported that they could not find the man, according to the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights

yeah, right… he and all the other students ended up dead.. the professors that goaded them into action turned out to be party members and went back..

the communist party knew that if the world found out what they did, it would make them look bad… so they claim otherwise knowing the ignorance of the western peoples would suffice to belive it.

but note… your talking about people whose arport is all military dressed as civiliians (you can tell if you know the manners of military vs civilians), and they go so far as to catalogue things like epi-pens, which can be used to assasinate…

she had no fear of being murdered, run over, sent to a reducation camp etc.

in fact, she probably realized she might make a lot of $$$, which is decidedly different than the comparisons

  25. Jun 04 1989
Chinese troops storm through Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing, killing and arresting thousands of pro-democracy protesters. The brutal Chinese government assault on the protesters shocked the West and brought denunciations and sanctions from the United States.

Chinese troops and security police stormed through Tiananmen Square, firing indiscriminately into the crowds of protesters. Turmoil ensued, as tens of thousands of the young students tried to escape the rampaging Chinese forces. Other protesters fought back, stoning the attacking troops and overturning and setting fire to military vehicles. Reporters and Western diplomats on the scene estimated that at least 300, and perhaps thousands, of the protesters had been killed and as many as 10,000 were arrested.

[very much not the same as protesting in the US]

  26. The anti-cop racism of Obama was clearly seen early, when a black Harvard professor locked himself out of his house, and the police can to view the situation. The jerk professor then began badmouthing the police officers and complaining of racism while not cooperating with the police — so he was arrested.

Obama supported a “racist” narrative, rather than a “police doing their jobs” narrative.

And he continues to do the same.

  27. there is some thing been arflaction og bahvour in the socity.

Whatever what the causes for the tension despite there is or no a leader, there is something been a reflection on behaviour in the society.

May I pick your attention to that movie based on a novel story called RED, 14 years old dog killed by teenagers and the story folding how things can be disastrous?
