Attack in London — 28 Comments

  1. When the people become weak, Islam harvests them.

That is the price of giving up warrior virtues and individual skills.

  2. The problem with outsourcing your security to a leader or nation, is that you are no longer capable of dealing with the issue yourself. You’ve given all your authority and power to somebody else, and when that somebody else is not around or if they merely allow you to die, you can’t do much about it.

  3. Also Art, this is why this is a war, not a debate session where you can survive by being smarter than your opponents. This goes back to a previous point Art made to me that this isn’t a “game” where “I beat people up”.

No, it isn’t a game. It’s real life, where they kill you with blades and weapons. And if you think you can stop that with words… well, that’s to be expected of people who refuse to understand human nature and change themselves. You’re stuck like that.

  4. I hate to profile, but this may have been one of those radical Somali Presbyterians we hear so much about. Early news reports stated he was a Norwegian Somali (an oxymoron?). Of course early news reports are notoriously unreliable in these days of beat the competition, and correct errors later–if ever.

I wonder if London is thinking of banning “assault style knives”?

Obama will probably lament a possible backlash against the Somali community in Minnesota.

  5. It’s time to talk about knife control before this happens here. If there are 300 million guns in America there are probably at least 5 times that many knives. This is a time bomb ticking away. Background checks and waiting periods for knife purchases should become national standards. (/sarc off)

  6. Btw, Australians have told me online that they would prefer to be stabbed than shot, since they think it’ll allow them to survive at better odds. Said Australians love their gun control and sometimes lecture America about how to stop our mass killing sprees.

It’s the slaves who think they are free, that are pathetic. At slaves on the 2.0 plantation in 1830, knew they were slaves that needed to be shackled else many would run away (not all, just many).

On an anatomical note, a blade causes the most damage for a newbie, by penetrating deep into the body cavities, to damage organs and the central nervous system, causing shock, blood loss, organ failure, etc. Slashing and cutting, causes more visible blood, but unless an artery is severed and the arterial jet sprays out of the body, critical damage has not yet been inflicted on the person. The person can still fight, resist, or run. Even with an artery severed, they may continue to do so until blood pressure drops below a certain threshold. Thus the slashing attacks, especially from a blade shorter and lighter than a machete short sword, are far less dangerous.

In order for a blade to cause as much damage with a slash as with a stab, one must have technique, the shorter and lighter the blade the more technique and skill is required. Difficult when people can usually only bring out 50% of their training in a life and death struggle. The other way is to have less skill and more blade length/weight. Such as machete, that requires a moderate amount of skill, but with a little bit of training, people can lop off limbs, or at least cut deep enough that the bone will show. This access the deep issues, the arteries. On the other length of things, is to craft a weapon specifically designed to cut through a human limb/torso/head. Which are two handed swords, like the European greatsword/two handed longsword or the Japanese long swords, daishos or katanas or o-katanas.

Without edge alignment, it won’t go completely through bone, but the weight and the blade geometry is designed to allow gravity to power many slashes.

From what I’ve seen, the Jihadists prefer to use machete length blades, to combat knife or long dagger blade lengths. Which is why they need to “saw” through a neck to decapitate it, rather than using one stroke.

The difference between using a blade at melee range and using a firearm at longer range, is that you are clearly cutting into human flesh and doing work, close up. It becomes difficult to rationalize the target you are cutting and slicing as merely a target to hit and eliminate. At range, you don’t see the sweat on their skin, nor hear their breathing, nor smell them. With blades, you are doing the work, and you know very well what the nature of that work is. You have to want to do it, if you shy away, look away, the blade doesn’t cut very deeply and you’ll miss.

When it comes to jihadists, they suffer from the lack of Western military training. So they often made up for it with pure fanaticism. They want to see you die, much as a man longs for water in the desert when dying of thirst.

  7. This is now the favored way for Palestinians to attack Israelis, too, right? What a coincidence!

“…some are so-called “lone wolves” with no special contacts or affiliation other than usually being young men and always being of Muslim origin.”

Part of the problem is that we’re interpreting this behavior based on our culture and values. The West has its own definition of “crazy”(e.g., we think it’s crazy to attempt to behead a doctor who has dishonored you by telling you your leg isn’t better because you haven’t kept up w/PT). A lot of what we define as crazy is closer to the norm is other parts of the world. Moving to the West and not adjusting to our culture’s mode of behavior and values doesn’t make one crazy, just not assimilated.

In addition, is it a “lone wolf” when he’s been raised in a culture where he is constantly told that infidels are inferior and it is OK to attack, rape, and even to kill them for simply being infidels? Is it a “lone wolf” when he’s regularly told this by the imam at his local mosque while living in a Western country? He’s acting in line with his tribe, furthering their communal goal of making the West submit to Islam, no?

Sure, some of these attackers are mentally unbalanced, but they sure are “crazy” in the exact same way. Time to reject this false narrative from police authorities and pols – “crazy lone wolf” – that is used to hide what is really going on.

  8. Let’s light some candles and sing songs of solidarity, tolerance, social justice and peace.

  9. “many such murderers, though inspired to act by jihadist propaganda and urging, have pre-existing mental problems or other dysfunctions. That makes complete sense. But it doesn’t mean that Islamic terrorism is not involved. It just means that, for many killers, Islamist terrorist propaganda is a necessary though insufficient part of the picture.” – Neo

Take out Islamist terrorism/ist and put in Alt-r and it would accurately describe Dylann Roof – SC Black Church Shooter.

No doubt others can point to BLM type material connection to the recent police shooters.

  10. Lizzy,
I think part of the crazy thing comes from people being second and third generation guys who were raised in households where the father had the say, the women obeyed and followed homeland norms, and such upbringing didn’t give them the skills they needed to succeed in the new country. These guys don’t know how to talk to girls so they aren’t likely to have dates or any kind of sex, not even a kiss. It’s no wonder that they act crazy. All this multi-culti stuff is propagated by people who don’t realize how deeply embedded they are in their own culture. If they understood themselves, they might do better at understanding where others are coming from.

  11. Ymarsakar –

Japanese long swords, daishos or katanas or o-katanas.
    ——————

Just a quick note. The Daisho can refer to any pair of matched Japanese blades. But the most commonly used pair (by far) is a katana matched with a wakizashi.

  12. An epidemic of mentally unstable people in Europe going on killing sprees. I wonder what could possibly be at the heart of it all.

  13. The mental health component is the governments’ way of putting the blame on us (“society”).

  14. Ie., shifting the blame away from the government for mass importation of deranged weirdos.

  15. Geoffrey Britain Says:

“terrorism has nothing to do with Islam!” Khirz Khan

This is so true Geoffery. Yes Mr. Khan certainly can instruct us all. Those who assert otherwise clearly have never read the Koran, or taken the sense of the divine verses of the prophet.

“We will cast terror into the hearts of those who are kafir because they have associated others with Allah for which He has not sent down any authority. Their shelter will be the Fire. How evil is the abode of the wrongdoers! Allah fulfilled His promise to you when you were slaughtering them by His permission.”

“He brought down from their fortresses those of the People of the Book who supported them and cast terror into their hearts. You killed some of them and some you took prisoner. He bequeathed their land, their houses and their wealth to you, and another land you had not yet trodden on. Allah has power over all things.”

    Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand.”

  16. DNW,

Those ‘ideals’ are some of secularist progressive’s theological tenets. Thus, as dogma they stand above logic and reason.

  17. DNW,

That which relies upon lies and hate bears the seeds of its own destruction. A ‘religion’ that rests upon coercion and cruelty can never rule the majority of mankind’s hearts.

The greater the evil the higher the price that good must pay to overcome it.

  18. Geoffrey Britain said (really, accurately relayed):

“‘terrorism has nothing to do with Islam!’ Khirz Khan”

If terrorism has nothing to do with Islam, then praying five times a day, fasting during ramadan, paying the zakat or poor tithe, etc., have nothing to do with Islam. Because it all is spelled out in same holy texts right alongside violent military jihad against the “unbelievers.”

If the sources are correct then warfare against “infidels” has just as much to do with Islam as the other five pillars.

I know, it’s only my white male cisgendered heteronormative Xtofascist privileged patriarchal upbringing that compels me to mention intellectual honesty.

  19. Geoffrey Britain said:
“… A ‘religion’ that rests upon coercion and cruelty can never rule the majority of mankind’s hearts. ”
    – – – – –
I’m not certain that the Western religious approach (“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart”, etc) applies here.

“Islam means submission”. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you understand why your god demands a certain action, or whether you approve of it; you are called upon only to submit to Allah’s will. Period.

If you voice any question/ doubt/ criticism of Allah’s Perfect Plan For Mankind you’re a heretic! you’re sowing dissension! and you’re also “making mischief in the land” by placing your mere-mortal perspective above that of Allah Almighty, whose literal words are recorded in the Koran and are Perfect, Unchangeable, and True For All Eternity.

Somebody’s gonna cut your head off for that….
No virgins for YOU in the afterlife!

  21. “no known motivation” “no connection with islam” “not a terrorist attack”
The people who say these things must know nobody believes them. They must know they look less and less trustworthy and more incompetent.
They must know everybody knows they lie.
They must know that, when they do this, the usual conclusion is that things are not only worse than the establishment says, they must be worse than we/I imagine. But They are trying to hide it.
This would likely generate more fear, more potential violence.
    Yet they still do it.
    Why?

  22. The people who say these things must know nobody believes them. They must know they look less and less trustworthy and more incompetent.
They must know everybody knows they lie.

German police did not report rapes by Muslim invaders. Swedish and Norwegian authorities didn’t have accurate statistics on Islamic rape either. Thus the “high rates” people thought Sweden and Norway had… was only merely a fraction of the actual incidence rate.

  23. Ymar.
I think the issue is not what the official figures sound like across the ocean.
My question is what the locals think. They already know better than the official figures, or think they do, from first or second hand experience.
They’re the ones I was speaking of. What do the officials think they gain by lying? Are they so deluded they think people believe them? That would be awful, since there may come a time when it’s necessary the citizenry believe them about something inconvenient.
Or they know the citizenry know they lie, with all the negatives that brings, but they do it anyway.
    If the latter, why?

  24. Are they so deluded they think people believe them?

Leftists and LEos who work for the Law, that obeys the power of evil, are Obeying their Orders. That, in the end, is what they think they are doing.

Their society has been constructed on the premise that if everyone obeys their orders to believe a lie, the lie will penetrate. So why isn’t that working here? Probably because of the internet and the fact that people can now communicate to each other the rumors and truth, even if 99% of their foolish mortal busy body neighbors, all say the State sponsored “truth”.

Or they know the citizenry know they lie, with all the negatives that brings, but they do it anyway.
    If the latter, why?

All of that presupposes that the tools of evil, are thinking and pondering on their moral responsibility. Tools and zombies do not do that. They Obey their Orders, without thought, without conscience, without guilt. They merely obey, that is all they need to think of. And that is all, in the end, they can do. After all, they sold their soul to evil for a lot of benefits.

  25. –Leftists support mass murder, child rape, regular rape, Muslim crime, Jihadist crime, and just regular basic crime.–

That was a comment I wrote at Book’s blog, to a self proclaimed Leftist angel in around 2012. Funny, how so many of the masses have come to accept those points as true over time.

Back to the other point. Germans have been known to obey a few orders, as part of their reason for existence. There’s also a thing called Stockholme Syndrome. For the Norwegians and Swedes, their culture is based on consensus with everyone looking alike, speaking alike, and agreeing together on the same things. They are extremely conformist, and as a result when their authorities tell them the sun is rising in the west, they will try to believe it. Norway and Sweden are culturally slightly different though, but it takes too long to go through the histories.

Conformist individuals in those cultures tend to knuckle down and endure, if their society orders them to do so or if they think they are a minority in that society.

To an America, especially allowed the use of online sources, this seems like a totalitarian frame of mind, but it isn’t. I’ve seen it in China, Japan, and Singapore as well. It isn’t unique to Germany or other consensus based European cultures.
