Is there an FBI probe into the Clinton Foundation? — 21 Comments

  1. I would guess there is an investigation, but it won’t get any support at the critical times it needs, and if Clinton does win, she will simply fire all the US attorneys and bring in new ones who know their place.

  2. Not sure. The DoJ declined, but, according to reports, three lower-level offices are doing it on their own. Sounds as if they’re not in on the fix.
I figured the fibbies would run it fast so they could claim nothing to see in time for the election.

  3. And Preet Bharara, the Southern NY US Attorney (I think that’s his title) will be heading up one of these. He’d known for being a ferocious opponent of corruption — he’s the one who got Sheldon Silver, who had been thought to be untouchable.
I know, I know. I’m getting my hopes up again, but it would be so good for the country. Hindu hellfire!

  4. The way I understand it the President’s pardoning power includes the power to “preemptively pardon” someone who hasn’t even been indicted. I wouldn’t be surprised to see such a pardon by Obama in the case of Hillary so she can “do the work of the American People without any political witch hunts hindering to will of the voters”.

  5. I’m not optimistic.

Not to go all conspiratorial, but…Something tells me that Bharara’s staff needs to be extremely careful wherever they go, lest they get added to an ever-longer list of…accidents.

  6. “Report: Multiple FBI Investigations Into Clinton Foundation Corruption Are Underway”

“There are conflicting reports this week on the question of whether the FBI is currently investigating possible corruption within the Clinton Foundation. CNN’s report that the DOJ quashed the FBI’s request to open an investigation has been contradicted by The Daily Caller, which is reporting that there is a joint FBI-U.S. Attorney probe currently being conducted. The FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI director himself have all declined to comment on the possibility of an ongoing investigation.”

  7. I still think, at some point, at least some career FBI agents will get tired of being publicly displayed and riciculed as prostitutes.

  8. I remember we were told there would be leaks galore from disgruntled members of the FBI, State Dept and intelligence organizations if Comey didn’t indict Hillary for her outrageous, if not treasonous, flouting of official security rules and laws.

    Nope.

Maybe it’s too much to expect these cossetted members of the government elite, pledged to defend the Constitution, might imperil their prestigious jobs and sweet, sweet pensions to blow the whistle and stop an obvious felon who put her career ahead of national security from becoming President of the United States.

Meanwhile some of our best men and women have died or been permanently disabled for nothing in Iraq and Afghanistan in no small part because of Hillary.

  9. Air guitar.
    Kabuki theatre.

Until Trump is President the Clintons are teflon.

  10. Nothing will come of these “investigations.” It is so written. (Or, at least e-mailed on a non-.gov account.)

  11. Another red herring that points back to…

“Republicans have been fleeced and exploited, and lied to by a conservative entertainment complex,” — David Frum told Friday’s Morning Joe panel in a discussion on the outcome of the 2012 election.

  12. In September, Clinton tweeted that every sexual assault survivor had “the right to be believed.” In November, she reiterated that “every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.” The following month, she was asked at a campaign event whether the handful of women who’ve accused her husband, former President Bill Clinton, of sexual harassment and assault – Juanita Broaddrick included – deserved to be “believed” as well.

“Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton replied with a smile that was just one awkward beat too slow.

[and you heard it here… every man is guilty until proven innocent, except her husband… ]

  13. what difference does it make, yamentau mountain is now not the only place and you have watched them build up for a major conflict including nuclear arms and have chosen to ignore it

Russia Building New Underground Nuclear Command Posts
U.S. intelligence detects dozens of hardened bunkers for leaders

U.S. intelligence officials said construction has been underway for several years on “dozens” of underground bunkers in Moscow and around the country.

Disclosure of the underground command bunkers comes as Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander of U.S. European Command, warned recently that Russia has adopted a nuclear use doctrine he called “alarming.”

“It is clear that Russia is modernizing its strategic forces,” Scaparrotti told a conference sponsored by the U.S. Strategic Command.

“Russian doctrine states that tactical nuclear weapons may be used in a conventional response scenario,” Scaparrotti said on July 27. “This is alarming and it underscores why our country’s nuclear forces and NATO’s continues to be a vital component of our deterrence.”

not like someone hasnt been warning and warning, and warning… you think stuff like this happens all at once like in the history books? no, it takes years then when the prep is done, it takes time to find an incident or a few to allow things to proceed after preparations

  14. “Russia is getting ready for a big war which they assume will go nuclear, with them launching the first attacks,” said Schneider, now with the National Institute for Public Policy, a Virginia-based think tank.

“We are not serious about preparing for a big war, much less a nuclear war,” he added.

Additionally, Russian officials have been issuing nuclear threats.

“A lot of things they say they are doing relate to nuclear threats and nuclear warfighting,” he said. “Active and passive defense were a major Soviet priority and [current Russian leaders] are Soviets in everything but name.”

Russia is engaged in a major buildup of strategic nuclear forces, building new missiles, submarines, and bombers. A State Department report on Russian activities under the New START arms treaty stated in the spring that Moscow added 153 strategic nuclear warheads to its arsenal under the treaty.

The increase in warheads is said to be the result of the deployment of new SS-27 Mod 2 intercontinental ballistic missiles with multiple warheads and SS-N-32 submarine-launched missiles.

In addition to new missiles, Russia is building a drone submarine, code-named “Kanyon,” which is said to be designed to carry a megaton-class warhead. Moscow also is moving ahead with a hypersonic strike vehicle designed to deliver nuclear warheads through advanced missile defense systems.
