Happy Labor Day
Labor Day is a three-day-weekend, but today is the actual Labor Day. What are you going to do?
I’ve got a $25 credit at a store that expires after today, and it’s burning a hole in my pocket. So I’m going shopping now.
Then this evening I watch the first of two finales of this season’s TV show “Bachelor in Paradise.” I won’t even try to argue for the show’s redeeming social importance (probably doesn’t have any). But it does have Shakespearean overtones, as I described here.

We are staying at my cousin’s place, listening to the stream, watching squirrels, cats, chickens, and their transspecies duck friend as well as 2 horses, a donkey and a sheep. We are also munching away. It’s been a great day. Hope everyone elses’s days were equally pleasant.
Had a hard two weeks and partied w friends and family for Sat and Sun. Just relaxed today, enjoyed family, and checked out Neo’s blog.
I am a contractor (One man operation). Frequently doing one of those jobs they say only illegals will do. Today I started lightly sanding the somewhat glossy paint on a 20 or so year old house I am preparing to paint. Sanded about half the exterior of the house during a short work day.
For me, it was a normal Monday. Laundry washed and hung outside to dry. Only took 2 hours to dry, maybe less, in the beautiful hot sun. Then I made potato soup in a slow cooker, read a few newspapers to catch up with the world, watched a little tennis, and an old movie.
