Rolling Stone found guilty of defamation… — 11 Comments

1. It brings a deep sense of satisfaction to see justice being done. Though absolute justice would be if Rolling Stone were put out of business and, Erdley and the responsible parties on the editorial staff of Rolling Stone went to jail. Money cannot compensate for purposefully trashing the reputation of an innocent. Acts of evil must have consequence.

2. The moral fiber of society seems largely gone. I wonder if reporters ever had it to begin with.

3. “Acts of evil mst have consequences.”

Yes, but often the unintended consequences of acts of evil take time to hatch. Patience.

When evil controls the narrative, the history of that narrative, and the language itself, we will need the patience of Job.

5. The patience of Job is insufficient. The Lord will not deliver us. We must do it ourselves. Tolerating evil with patience? No.
On the whole, I prefer the approach of the people of Poland, from whence St. John Paul the Great sprang.
Let us recognize and oppose evil.

6. When the UVA story was unraveling one young reporterette said that we mustn’t let the facts get in the way of a good narrative. Just remember, they are lying for the truth.

7. I wish we could sic the Southern Poverty Law Center on Rolling Stone like they took down the Klan.

But the SPLC has become its own instrument of oppression.

Rolling Stone can survive a $7 mil suit, whatever I might wish.
