The Netherlands welcomes Trump — 12 Comments

  1. That is hilarious. But the laughter will fade away if djt insists NATO members fail to meet their required defense spending.

  2. Some juvenile humor.
It turns out that the Netherlands American Cemetery is the only on e in the system which is fully subscribed.
That means every one of the 8301 graves is attended by a local family, and there is a waiting list.
I prefer to think of the Dutch in the second way.

  3. The Dutch had a very hard time under the Nazi heel; mass starvation in the winter of 1944 is one example.

  4. Hilarious because it pokes fun at everyone, the Dutch included.

I found out during my time in Latin America that the Dutch do not like being mistaken for Germans. I wonder why? 🙂

  5. Americans first in America. Dutch first in Netherlands. Everyone tending their garden, separately and together.

  6. The first Dutch civilians my father’s unit saw were in such bad shape that the grunts gave them all the food they were carrying, including chewing gum. Knowing the kitchen trucks were three days behind.

  7. Good to read that some of you picked out the poking of the Dutch system as well. I am Dutch myself and very critical about what’s going on here. The saddest thing about the Dutch tax evasion system is that the royal family is abusing this as well. They pay no taxes at all. Fantastic for them, isn’t it? Just like the big companies, such as Royal Dutch Shell, Unilever and others of which the royals are big shareholders. But that’s of course something Lubach couldn’t mention in his show. After a parliamentary discussion on the subject of the royal tax exemption these royals said, that were very willing to pay taxes. The only condition for it was that they needed more income, granted to them by the taxpayers.
