A real feel-good story

Here’s a great, great story:

When Roseann Sdoia was laid up with an amputated leg in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing, love was the last thing on her mind.

But her mother, ever the matchmaker, saw a perfect opportunity as handsome firefighter Mike Materia hovered nearby.

“In the hospital, my mom tried to set me up with him,” Sdoia said.

“She was like, ‘Oh, did you see that firefighter? He’s so cute.’ And I was like, ‘Mom, I just got blown up.’ ”

But Mom’s persistence paid off. The victim and her hero struck up a romance that will soon lead to marriage.

More background can be found here.

Thanks for the post. People can be many things, especially kind and caring. Its important to never forget that.

Sometimes great vulnerability may lead to a connection much deeper than the usual rote practice of personality we all rely on in our ordinary social selves — social selves we employ to keep such vulnerability unrevealed and hidden away.

Some people run toward chaos, some run away. It’s one thing to volunteer, be selected, trained, and in the company of those who run toward chaos.
it’s another to do it the first time it comes around.

Nice story – and I have noticed that some social media accounts that I follow have started posting funny or cute animal gifs in between some of their other tweets. I suspect that they realize that everyone needs to chill out.
