  1. Sandra:

This Easter chicks at the link you gave look like they were photographed on the morning after a dissipated night out on the town.

  2. KLSmith:

I have never read the instructions for making them, but it sure looks like carrot feet to me.

I was wondering how they get the eggs to stand at attention like that, but then I realized that they probably just cut a slice off the bottom of the white to make it level.

  3. JELLO! Thanks, I never think of youtube for things beyond music, lazy me. The devil egg peeps are a great idea, I will show mrs parker who makes yummy deviled eggs every Easter and nearly every week in the summer.

  4. Jamie,

I understand the microaggresion, but you obviously did not grow up on a farm. We country folks viciously slaughter chickens and eat them raw with a dash of Louisiana Hot Sauce. Its a flyover deep south conspiracy.

    Just eat them! 😉

  5. Neo neocon,

Good question. Cheep or peep largely depends on breeds, but also on age. Some breeds peep until they reach a certain age, others peep or Cheep exclusively until they reach a certain age. After that they all cluck and bwalk, dependent upon age and breed. Chickens are much more complicated beyond they all have feathers and funny bird feet.

On a personal note, good friend from. 1st grade through high school, who grew up on a neighboring farm suffered a serious stroke. I am in eastern Illinois at a motel, and will visit her in Columbus, Ohio tomorrow. Its taht time of life where not enough are born to replacd those who are lost. That needs to cha ge.

  6. parker:

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she makes a full recovery.

  7. I showed this to my DiL who makes quilts and fancy cakes.
She is already scheming about jello eggs and deviled chickies.
