Just what the world needs

Another giraffe:

This video has some cute closeups (try to ignore the annoying banner on the bottom):

My wife was one of the 1 Million+ fans who watched the “April the Giraffe” feed every day for over two months.

When the birth finally started she couldn’t understand why I wasn’t interested in watching…

I wonder how much money was raised off April by this zoo?

I remember seeing a giraffe live birth back in the day on one of the nature shows – “Wild Kingdom”, maybe. They had come across a giraffe in labor in the wild, and I remember being appalled/amazed at the baby falling six feet to the ground. What a way to join the world!

He s adorable, and yes the world always can use more giraffes! For some reason as a new mommy I always looked for giraffe motif, PJs & clothes for my little ones to be in. The giraffe has highly efficient valves in her neck because bending down to get a drink of water could possibly cause her a stroke! Same with elevating her head her neck valves slow the process or she would faint. A marvel of nature & the 6 foot birth drop facilitates her initial breathing process.

I would like to see the new baby’s first sneeze. One of my favorite YouTube video topics of late is giraffe sneezes.
