Here are the rules about shutting down the government — 8 Comments

  1. I’m tired of victim-talk.

You know what I want to see? Republican leaders who can do more than just complain about how unfair the media is.

    Buncha whiners.

  2. I agree that as of now there will be no ‘shutdown’ which is never really a ‘shutdown’. Is it any wonder that those of us outside the Beltway and metropolitan areas have such low opinions of the ruling class?

  3. Pete,

Our hostess will respond or not to your critic, but I wager Geoffery Britian has a gallon of gasoline and a matchbox he will freely give you. 😉

Seriously, no one contests your right to identify as a “liberal democrat”. However, the days of Patrick Moynihan and Scoop Jackson have been swept into the dustbin of history (herstory or itstory for a liberal democrat). Very seriously, what bothers me is you believe totalitarian regimes come from the right when history (or herstory or itstory) shows 9 out 10 it comes from the left.

  4. I seem to recall that when the GOP shutdown the government in 2013 the Obama WH called it “terrorism.”

    Terrorism

  5. My favorite part of an actual “shutdown” is that they (Dems in the Whitehouse) close things like national parks. Or in my neighboring town, they (Dems of course) shutdown muni gov. (because voters were too irresponsible to pass a big tax increase) and they closed all of the libraries.

In the case of the national parks, what does that cost the fed. gov.? Maybe 0.00001% of the federal budget? Sorry, I’m just guessing. It is probably much smaller than that.

  6. Obama’s petty tantrum on the “shutdown” pretty much sealed my opinion of him from his first election: he’s a jerk.

That the Left and the Democrats put that kind of small-minded manipulator in charge says all you need to know about their opinion of the public.

This is how you get a President Trump.

  7. Democrats want to abort the baby and have it, too. Too often, their twilight fantasies are fulfilled as people lose their religion (morality).
