John Kelly…

  1. Yancey Ward Says:

    You are up late, Neo.

Wilson outwitted herself- being on the phone call is just to big a coincidence to be ignored. She was on that call specifically so she could go public the way she did, and it backfired massively.

  2. Griffin Says:

Not dignifying the grandstanding woman by naming her was perfect.

  3. n.n Says:

A perfectly human moment that is cause for optimism.

She was on that call specifically so she could go public the way she did

Exactly. At best, it was an invasion of privacy. At worst, it was a teachable moment for anyone who would presume to express empathy without authorization from the ministry of political correctness, which seems to be operated by minority factions in the Democratic Party.

  4. Dave Says:

The left in America is exceptionally evil because they are not the ideal misguided type like those in Europe, the Democratic Party in America is vile and corrupted beyond words, these people are as morally corrupted as Kim Jong un and North Korea, only thing that is preventing them from hurting people on the scale of Cambodia or landlordare classicisde in China are our constitution and rule of law. Watching Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings again on yet, there is no question that joe Biden is a racist.

  5. Ann Says:

Trump truly must be insane — look at what he tweeted last night:

    Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

The Fake News is going crazy with wacky Congresswoman Wilson(D), who was SECRETLY on a very personal call, and gave a total lie on content!

    10:53 PM – Oct 19, 2017

  6. Ann Says:

    Here’s what Kelly said:

So he called four people the other day and expressed his condolences in the best way that he could. And he said to me, what do I say? I said to him, sir, there’s nothing you can do to lighten the burden on these families.

Well, let me tell you what I told him. Let me tell you what my best friend, Joe Dunford, told me — because he was my casualty officer. He said, Kel, he was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed. He knew what he was getting into by joining that 1 percent. He knew what the possibilities were because we’re at war. And when he died, in the four cases we’re talking about, Niger, and my son’s case in Afghanistan — when he died, he was surrounded by the best men on this Earth: his friends.

That’s what the President tried to say to four families the other day.

That simply doesn’t jibe with Trump saying last night that Wilson “gave a total lie on content!”.

  7. Cornhead Says:

But the circus will continue. That Member of Congress was on CNN this AM.

    CNN is completely unhinged.

  8. Sharon W Says:

Ann, is the President’s action “foolish” or is he “insane”? Put me in the camp of people that will judge PDT on his actions not his words. I can’t imagine what I would do if I was under the constant strain of 24/7 MSM detraction. Even if it was someone I deeply cared about I imagine I would be suffering terribly. We had 8 years of accolades and cover-up for Obama and now we are served daily damnations concerning Trump. I quit participating in this game a long time ago. I feel no need to defend Trump. If he does something positive or foolish if I have cause to say so, I will. Otherwise I just continue my daily prayers for our country for the sake of our children.

  9. Cap'n Rusty Says:

    Yancey,

    “Wilson outwitted herself.”

I’m still chuckling about that. She is the only one she could outwit.

  10. Dave Says:

first, it is unethical to eavesdropping such a conversation. Second, is it appropriate for a third person bystander to judge if something is disrespectful or not? how the hack does this democratic woman know if the widow felt disrespectful or not besides her using the liberal anti-trump sense that pretty much finds everything Trump says offensive. This is the problem with sjw and the democrat created victim hood culture, often times it is liberal bystanders with their liberal biased who are complaining about racism in events that the alleged victims don’t feel the least bit offended. These victims have to be reminded by the culture sensitive democrats that they have been wronged. Democrats are pretty much the modern day Iago

  11. Dave Says:

democrats are just like Iago or lady macbeth or whomever who loves to manipulate people by misinterpreting things people have said to create problems out of thin air, to pit brothers against each other by whispering to each brother’s ear that he has been wronged/disrespected by the other brother by misinterpreting what the other one said.

  12. arfldgrs Says:

    He is right..
and i hope never to have that happen
but if and when it does, well it does…

    He is an officer…
While his dad never served, he is like his dad, always 1%
    sheepdog
    adventurer
and much better socially than i will ever be

    booooyahhhh

    on another note pay attention:
To produce a maximum of chaos in the culture of the enemy is our first most important step. Our fruits are grown in chaos, distrust, economic depression and scientific turmoil. At least a weary populace can seek peace only in our offered Communist State, at last only Communism can resolve the problems of the masses. Lavrentiy Beria Head of Joseph Stalin’s secret police

  13. JFM Says:

Trump’s heart is in the right place.

  14. Matthew Says:

I beginning to think John Kelly would make a better President than Trump. I don’t hate Trump, but he lacks a filter.

  15. Oldflyer Says:

Well, the “Despicables”** on the left have now attacked Kelly.

For those who continue to get upset about Trump’s tweets in response to criticism and attacks, you might as well try to get past it. That is his nature, and it is not going to change. I think the thought to carry from this is that Trump sought the advice of Kelly as one who had been through the agony of losing a son. Clearly, he tried to do the right thing; and I, for one, do not fault him for being disgusted and angry that it was turned against him. It would be better if he followed Kelly’s lead on this as well and shrugged it off, at least publicly; but, that is simply not him.

**Since those who voted for Trump have been labeled “Deplorables”, I have decided that turnabout is only fair, and the Left hence forth will be referred to as “Despicables” by me.

  16. Dave Says:

Trump needs to stop calling the democrats liars. the liberals are not liars, they are misinterpreters and great at it, if you simply call them liars they can simply show that piece of fact to debunk you. The democrats never lie about the fact, they only lie about the meaning of that piece of fact, big difference.

  17. neo-neocon Says:

    Dave:

Actually, they sometimes lie about the fact.

But you are right on the money about this one.

  18. arfldgrs Says:

The Awans and their associates collected more than $5 million in pay from congressional offices, (Including $138,235 from Frederica Wilson) often drawing chief-of-staff level pay though there is reason to believe many didn’t even show up. They are suspected of cybersecurity violations.

no one knew much about her
but they are gonna find out more than she wanted.

  19. J.J. Says:

General Kelly spoke for millions of we old timers who share those values. As he so eloquently observed, those values are fading much too fast.

I, like General Kelly, would advise the President not to call the next of kin. A well-crafted letter – yes. A personal phone call with the bereaved is a minefield and is not likely to do much to assuage grief. As General Kelly said, the most soothing calls he received were from his son’s fellow warriors. Those can mean so much to a grieving family.

As Genral Kelly pointed out, listening in on a call such as this to score political points is stomping on hallowed ground. Despicable (Hat tip Oldflyer), just DESPICABLE.

Trump is not always graceful or well-spoken in his attempts to defend himself. But we now know that is the way he does things. Much as we might want him to change there is scant chance of that.
Tucker Carlson has written an essay about Trump that I think explains pretty well why Trump won and why he continues to be pretty much on point even though he is shocking and vulgar.

    Well worth the read.

  20. Dave Says:

What I don’t understand is that “your son was doing what he signed up for” is pretty much cliched Words of Condolences We have heard many times, as common as “How are you doing” It has only become disrespectful after Trump said it.

  21. Cornhead Says:

Where does the Awan case stand? And the Clintons collected millions from the Russians but nothing happens.

  22. Richard Aubrey Says:

Gold Star brother here. Notified next of kin. Survivor assistance officer.
You never know how it’s going to go. One father wouldn’t let the notification officer on to his porch.
One parent said he didn’t want to live any more, so I stayed until some neighbors came.
My father had a friend killed late in the Pacific war. His mom wished the atomic bomb had been developed earlier, …”Arthur would be here with us today”. The poor woman eventually concluded that it was the Jews who held up the development of the bomb.
I discovered three years ago that a mother who I had notified in 1970 committed suicide five years after I knocked on her door.
One uncle few B24 in the Pacific. He was not shot down, but he was shot up. Two of his gunners were killed. When he got back, he went to pay his respects to their families. It didn’t go as Hollywood might lead one to believe.
Takeaway is that you never know how it’s going to go and a call is a risk that, usually, is between you and the bereaved. But if you throw in the chance of it going public, it’s a bad idea. Letters are better.

The Left in EU is worse than the Left in the US.

You only notice the fighting in the US because we haven’t completely lost. In EU, even the right wing parties are controlled by the Left, look at Germany’s Christian party.

Where does the Awan case stand? And the Clintons collected millions from the Russians but nothing happens.

Bad things only happen to Republicans like Bush II, Nixon, and Demoncrats that are doubting the mafia oath, like Robert Kennedy, Kennedy, and Trum.

  25. Ymar Sakar Says:

**Since those who voted for Trump have been labeled “Deplorables”, I have decided that turnabout is only fair, and the Left hence forth will be referred to as “Despicables” by me

Reacting to the Left’s Alinsky methods by adopting Alinsky.

A tactical decision, but you know what they say about generals focusing on tactics vs those who use strategy and logistics.
