Happy Thanksgiving!
If I had my way, political discussions would be banned from the Thanksgiving table! But alas, I don’t have my way.
I’m going over to a pretty big feast at a relative’s house. Maybe later I’ll post some photos of the food, if I can remember to take them.

I’m lucky this year – the political chatter was kept to a bare minimum today (well, there was much more political talk yesterday which I thought would be used as a warm-up for today, but fortunately the winds changed). Whatever myth of peace between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans (apparently the Pilgrims killed their guests, but that was coming from one mouth) it does’t really influence why I celebrate today since, for many years, it was said today was to give thanks and to be grateful.

Same here. We got the political stuff over (if it can ever be said to be “over”) the night before, and no politics at all on Thanksgiving Day. For that I’m grateful!

These are the last days of (oppressive) family traditions left over from the patriarchy…
without families and the structure that lasted eons enough to be in fossil records… ALL that goodness we want to preserve dies and goes away… what do you think all this erasure is?

mine is gone and these holidays don’t exist any more for the most part (in any way shape or form to their greatness that made them so treasured in the past) – mine are gone and the harder you try to have them the less you can have them…
