  1. Thanks for doing this, neo.

My net “aaaarrrrgh” count is going to go down considerably.

    ( I *hate* typos — especially my own. )

  2. Finally. I dont “preview” what Ive written until after Ive hit the “submit” button so Im sure Ive often come off as an idiot.
Of course the editing thing probably wouldnt do much to fix that…(Edit test)

  3. I love the editing idea, but there is at least one glitch.
While working on the most recent Hawai’i missile brouhaha this afternoon, I edited a long comment responding to j.j. (I had misplaced a closing HTML tag), and saved it –however, the new version was not displayed; then noticed another problem which I fixed (noting that my prior fix was still in the “raw” text”) and saved again – and the entire comment disappeared.
That occurred prior to the three other comments, one of which I edited once without any problem.

  4. Thank you neo and, I can assure you that, as is my habit when available, I will make diligent use of it.

I can also assure you that I will still make typos… though less.

    PS:It works!

  5. I immediately tried the edit function and sadly it is not ready for prime time… I hit save, a spinning wheel appeared and after a fruitless minute of waiting… opened another tab, read another post of neo’s, commented and then came back to this thread. No joy, no added edit.

  6. Geoffrey Britain:

I added an addendum to the post explaining that there’s a slight delay in the edits showing up.

  7. What a neat thing this is! I have a one-minute delay setting on my work email for similar reasons. It’s not the typos that get me – more of a conceptual rethink being required sometimes.

  8. More like rewrite for me. EDIT: Since people can now delete their comments, it’s like the reddit script for purging. Screenshots.
