Another must-read from Andrew C. McCarthy
Andrew C. McCarthy is the most consistently readable, thorough, and clear writer on the topic of all the current government investigations going on, and recent ones in the past as well. I’ve cited him many times, and here I go again:
From the first, these columns have argued that the whitewash of the Hillary Clinton”“emails caper was President Barack Obama’s call ”” not the FBI’s, and not the Justice Department’s. (See, e.g., here, here, and here.) The decision was inevitable. Obama, using a pseudonymous email account, had repeatedly communicated with Secretary Clinton over her private, non-secure email account.
If Clinton had been charged, Obama’s culpable involvement would have been patent. In any prosecution of Clinton, the Clinton”“Obama emails would have been in the spotlight. For the prosecution, they would be more proof of willful (or, if you prefer, grossly negligent) mishandling of intelligence. More significantly, for Clinton’s defense, they would show that Obama was complicit in Clinton’s conduct yet faced no criminal charges.
That is why such an indictment of Hillary Clinton was never going to happen.
McCarthy discusses the process by which, in several succeeding drafts of Comey’s statements exonerating Clinton from having committed any criminal act, all references to President Obama that had originally been included were expunged. An early draft had said this:
That use included an email exchange with the President while Secretary Clinton was on the territory of such an adversary. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account.
Later drafts changed the presidential reference so that it read “another senior government official.” By the time Comey delivered his remarks, that entire passage was gone, as well, and just Hillary was mentioned:
What most alarmed Obama and Clinton advisers (those groups overlap) was not only that there were several Clinton”“Obama email exchanges, but also that Obama dissembled about his knowledge of Clinton’s private email use in a nationally televised interview…
Perhaps [Obama] was confident that, because he had used an alias in communicating with Clinton, his emails to and from her ”” estimated to number around 20 ”” would remain undiscovered.
His and Clinton’s advisers were not so confident. Right after the interview aired, Clinton campaign secretary Josh Scherwin emailed Jennifer Palmieri and other senior campaign staffers, stating: “Jen you probably have more on this but it looks like POTUS just said he found out HRC was using her personal email when he saw it on the news.”
Scherwin’s alert was forwarded to Mills. Shortly afterwards, an agitated Mills emailed Podesta: “We need to clean this up ”” he has emails from her ”” they do not say state.gov.”

This combined with the Trump dossier nonsense are nothing more than an attempt by the highest levels of the DOJ to pick the next president.
This really needs to be framed this way to drive home why this matters so much.
I read this McCarthy piece yesterday & watched his interview on Fox…It troubles me to no end that folks at the top of the DOJ dog pile were not just “trying to pick the next president,” but trying to destroy the opposition. The Clinton/Obama/DNC/DOJ operation was a scorched-earth political pogrom in full swing.
And if Neo’s above article on “John effing Kerry” is read in that light, we see all the little termites still scurrying around chewing on whatever their teeth can find to continue that destructive work.
I’m saddened by my gut feeling that if some of these SOBs don’t go to jail…some of them might just bleed out on the streets. I advocate no violence, but we discovered at our founding that when the gov’t turned against the people, the people eventually fought back & fought back hard.
I was outraged just now when I was listening to Michael Medved, about whom I’ve always had mixed feelings. In response to a caller he said something like: “Why this obsession with the FBI and Hillary Clinton? She lost, didn’t she?” This struck me as so shallow and unprincipled. We’re obsessed because we want to root out the corruption that has taken root so high up in so many government agencies and is making our country unrecognizable.
I read McCarthy’s piece yesterday too. The part that stuck in my mind was the Clintonian wordsmithing where 0bama said “I had no idea that there was a private email server until I heard about it in the media.” (paraphrasing)
He had already sent many emails to Hillary’s private email address over a longer period time using his alias when he spoke those words.
So he did know about classified info on a private address, but didn’t know that she had established her own private email server and system. Oh …, now we understand! Parse every word. Make no assumptions or inferences.
Why is it so hard for liberal voters to understand that the Dossier scandal matters because Obama was guilty for the exact same thing they were accusing Trump for. If Trump in their minds is guilty because he contacted Russians to dig up dirt on Hillary then weren’t FBI CIA and whoever in the Obama Admin gave the order to contact KGB to dig up dirt on Trump in Russia guilty of the exact same thing?
This is not about Trump but rather the continuing need for Progressives to find ways around the checks and balances of American governance. The EPA were masters at this (until caught) as was HHS and Education. I was always sure that Hillary was directed by Obama to use private mail. She could then be informed about the actual goals the administration wanted with foreign policy.
Here’s a theory. We wanted a regime change in Syria (part of the “Arab Spring” a la Libya, Egypt). Russia was bribed with Uranium One. We start a civil war in Syria. Russia threatens to intervene in Syria. We start a civil war in Ukraine. Iran is bribed with the release of frozen assets. Russia intervenes in Syria. Trump becomes a viable candidate for President. The establishment is desperate to elect a president friendly to their cause, decides to stage a propaganda campaign to smear Trump, but Americans questioned the credibility of the traditional methods (e.g. allegations of immoral orientation and behavior, anti-American sentiment) and messengers. Failing to prevent the election of Trump, they have staged a progressive coup to either remove or neutralize the President.
It strains credulity past the breaking point to imagine that Obama did not fully know what was going on and that in knowing, was not directly involved.
The Obama/Clinton/Soros/DNC/DOJ/FBI cabal bet that Hillary would be the next President and that, all they need do is hold on to the reins of power for another decade and the combination of illegal/legal immigration and indoctrination of the young will ensure the Left’s permanent enthronement.

It’s the FDR meme; “He may be a bastard but he’s OUR bastard”. It’s about the “good guys winning” not the principle of the thing.
Weaponized governmental agencies against political opponents.
Suborned the DOJ.
Suborned the FBI.
Had most of the MSM deep in his pocket (without having to pay them a dime—they dived in on their own accord).
Tried to intimidate media outlets and journalists who wouldn’t tow the line.
Lied about practically everything.
Trampled on the Constitution consistently.
First Attorney General was about to be impeached but quit before that could happen.
Second Attorney General pleaded the fifth.
And—the kicker—when Trump gets elected, everyone, in a tizzy, feels they have to go out and buy George Orwell to figure out what’s happening to America….
HRC could not be prosecuted simply because it would implicate the messiah. I read NRO because McCarthy and VDH are always worth reading.

When Trum gets elected, HRC will be in jail.
They’re counting on a ‘fundamentally transformed” US military to ensure they win that battle.
That’s going to take awhile. At best, they can prevent the US military from taking the Right wing militia terrorist insurgency’s side.
Or at least provide enough “transgender” BLM officers from West Point and the naval academy, to make sure the US military is too busy purging itself while the Islamic Jihad, BLM, antifa hordes take over the streets.
They can’t control the countryside, not from us insurgents and snipers and civilian clothed assassins + death squads. But the cities… cities are gone.
The police unions, are far more reliable death squad enforcers than the uS military, even in the next 4-8 years.
However, the Deep State is not the Leftist alliance, and has greater reserves of strategic assets than the Leftist alliance has combined. Police unions ordering Stand Down or “slaughter them all”, will enforce discipline, but that is a Leftist asset, not a Deep State asset.
Deep State assets will be the strategic clincher. Even if the Leftist alliance falls and is defeated… that is not game over. Still another one left. And another one after that.
Demoncrats pretend election rules matter and Republicans pretend election results matter in the dead Republic.
