House passes Syrian refugee bill — 36 Comments

  1. A good link to pass around and post on Faceplant:

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/isis-in-afghanistan/

This aired this week, and the focus of this Frontline (PBS) program was children being recruited and trained for jihad in Afghanistan.

So the kids are being trained to kill, and the women also. But anyone who objects to bringing in hundreds of thousands more, mostly males, many non-Syrian, is “afraid of women and … orphans!” as Captain Bull**** said. (Because, of course, orphans are guaranteed to tug the old heartstrings.)

  2. We know the 47 House democrats only voted “aye” because they knew their buddies in the Senate would kill it and their vote would give them cover with their constituents. There are only a handful (seven, to be exact) democratic senators up for re-election in 2016 – most of them in safe states – so the rest of them don’t give a damn. They know that three years from now nobody will remember their perfidy.

  3. Seeings how feral ISIS blows up Turks and Kurds…

I can see why the fella might have rental issues.

PLUS, you never rent to just one.’

Every rental turns into a ‘clown house.’ ( Crammed with souls.)

  4. snopercod…

I don’t think they’ll have that much grace.

    1) Further detonations — during the election campaign — are virtually a certainty.

    2) ISIS is plainly trying to assassinate Leftist national politicians in Europe.

    Strangely, they didn’t target conservatives.

0Bomba is impossible for ISIS to assassinate — though it’s a pretty good bet they’ll try. ( Ask Hollande and Merkel. )

Hence, American blue state Senators figure to be the next best soft target.

ISIS — even in Afghanistan — MUCH prefers assassinations.

It’s the feral, Muslim, way of war.

Hence, Reid is — in every sense of the word — handing ISIS the rope to hang himself.

As the Senator from sin city… guess what his status is in ISIS ranks?

ISIS will have the Senate “hitting the mattresses.”

    Isn’t that just swell !

Say, would Muslims think anything special about Al Franken, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer?

It’s insane. They’re insane. They’re running around with bullseyes on their heads… so they’re letting the enemy in ?

  5. Say, would Muslims think anything special about Al Franken, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer?

It’s rather simple to setup false flag ops there, even if the Muslims pay no attention to such.

They’re running around with bullseyes on their heads… so they’re letting the enemy in ?

What’s what their bodyguards are for and their serfs are for, to absorb the bullets and bombs.

  6. I wish we could return to the days when senators and representatives settled their disputes of honor by duels. What would there be to lose? Reid and Grassley at 20 paces with 12 gauge slugs or Mia Love and pelosi at 5 paces with 22LR pistols? Win-win.

  7. Good. There are persecuted people, and victims of Obama’s political opportunism and social justice-fostered humanitarian disaster.

Obama needs to admit fault for his role in creating this crisis. He should then join the Russian coalition to confront the problem on the ground, instead of leaving millions of people and a wasteland behind as Obama and the majority of Democrats are maneuvering to achieve.

  8. Everyone part of the Left needs to admit their guilt for participating in a war against humanity. Why start with Hussein, one of their more powerful chess pieces? There are plenty of Leftist zombies living all around every day, normal Americans. Just pick one.

  9. Oh so sorry, the hard left will will never admit the evil of their ways. And the soft left will never refute their brainwashed sheeple bleats because they baa baa whatever they learn from the new yorker and all things considered.

  10. @ blert “It’s the feral, Muslim, way of war.”

Yes. They don’t want to engage the enemy and take territory as in conventional war. They just want their enemy to become worn down and submit. T.E. Lawrence may have taught them that way of fighting in WW I, or maybe it just came naturally. In The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Lawrence wrote:

Most wars were wars of contact … Ours should be a war of detachment. We were to contain the enemy by the silent threat of a vast unknown desert, not disclosing ourselves until the moment of attack… We might develop a habit of never engaging the enemy…never afford a target.

He went on to discuss the issue of propaganda – not against the enemy primarily, but aimed at the Arab fighters.

We had to arrange their minds in the order of battle, just as carefully as and formally as other officers would arrange their bodies: and not only the minds of our own men although naturally they came first. We must also arrange the minds of the enemy so far as we could reach them: and then those other minds of those nations supporting US behind the firing line, since more than half the battle passed there in the back: and the minds of the enemy nation awaiting the verdict and the neutrals looking on…”

I think Islam is doing a pretty good job of “arranging the minds” of their fighters.

  11. there is nothing that can be done because we now have an ADMINISTRATIVE state in which the kinds of people that we used to call bosses, are in control of every aspect of our lives…

and they do not care if they throw incompatible animals into the farming pens…

take a look at tne nyc soviet (council), they now even call themselves an administrative council, and they are making laws that are not for the benefit of the people but for their benefit wholly and openly.

they own property, so they restrict new building, and so on, so that the rents they collect are higher. they get kickbacks like crazy… to the point where they make up crimes that dont exist for the purposes of insuring money coming in from their union or other groups like taxis.

take the uber issue… they are complaining that uber is breaking up a taxi medallion monopoly in which thousands of poor people can barely make a living for the owners who are in the pockets of people like Vallone, who is in his office because of continuing the nice cosy position that his father had doing the same for the taxi business.

now, besides uber, they have manged to make mopeds and motorized bikes illegal… so delivery and others cant use them to get arounf… they made electric scooters illegal because being powered they can cover a long distance… and now they have made hoverboards illegal.

  12. Yes. They don’t want to engage the enemy and take territory as in conventional war. They just want their enemy to become worn down and submit. T.E. Lawrence may have taught them that way of fighting in WW I, or maybe it just came naturally.

Islam has been doing this since the 7th century AD.

And if you ever watched a map of the Islamic conquests time accelerated, they also “occupy territory” once the enemy has been depopulated and worn down. Islamic warfare is Total Warfare, which includes psychological and economic warfare.

  13. One last point i had to put in a second post to hopefully avoid procrustes.

the syrian and other issues have to do not with what conservatives or such thing, as the leaders only need a loud enough constituency to say, i do it for them…

who do you want me to let go?
    barabbas or jesus?

but here is what the thoughts of the current leadership backing is doing and really caring about.

    Samples:
Students at Occidental College who have occupied an administration building this week have demanded that campus safety officers stop wearing bulletproof vests.
[you can forget about them having guns! maybe they will issue reallly tough looking nerf weapons]

Portland’s city council unanimously approved a resolution Friday effectively preventing any new gas stations from being built.
[insuring a monopoly thanks to that council/soviet]

earlier today I put the call out to murder Donald Trump. No big deal. I was totally just kidding. – Kalen
[they were fired, and then called the police and so on… after all, whats the problem with a nazi calling for the death of a jew in fascist germany?]

    Obama Pushes Hashtag #RefugeesWelcome
    [no comment]

Black Lives Matter activists at Princeton University have taken over the president’s office and say they won’t leave until the school acknowledges former U.S. president Woodrow Wilson as a racist and renames all buildings currently honoring him on campus. [you mean erase history of democrats racism? then in 20 years they will claim they never were cause their crimes were erased?]

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club. Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”
[funny, but even florence nightingale knew they would be control freaks and dictators!!!]

French President Francois Hollande today promised that “France will remain a country of freedom,” defending his decision to honor a commitment to accept migrants and refugees despite Friday’s deadly terrorist attacks in Paris. [nice show of bombing them without killing much, and then hoping the constituency is ignoring their actions of letting more in. progressives and fabians need highly destructive conflict and social pain to get permission in desperation to do what they want under the auspices of mandates to help]

there is no way to halt or even influence this, as there is no way to attack or do a thing without hitting a double protected class (minority women) and having the group yell and holler and attack the politician that would even think of it openly

  14. Democratic FEC Commissioner Ann Ravel now wants bloggers and YouTubers that are talking about politics and all things related to comply with onerous regulations and disclosure requirements. She wants individuals and organizations that post things even remotely political online to register with her federal agency, disclose their funding sources, and stamp disclaimers on all of their content. The regulatory net they are set to cast wouldn’t just cover overtly political advertisements hosted on YouTube. Their pending plans could even censor things like an economist’s online video of a lecture criticizing a given policy or the personal blog of a concerned mother, should they not comply with FEC standards. These rules will apply to people without any funding to disclose in the first place! This will have a chilling effect on free speech, of which the internet has become the leading platform.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

so can we go back to talking about Jello since all the pieces are in place to do this and they are way ahead in the race, with the feminists in the UN backing them and international sources also?

you can find out that the head is a feminist by this:
Dear FEC, Trying to Get More Women Elected Is Not Your Job
Take Federal Election Commission chair Ann Ravel’s May 12 forum on “Women in Politics.”
Ravel has acted unilaterally to convene the “Women in Politics” hearing. There has been no vote by the commissioners to authorize the use of FEC funds and resources for this “project.”

because the women they are talkig about are totalitarians!!!!!!!!!!! so the MORE you have the more of this kind of import of outsiders, open borders, censorship, and so on you will get.

    but lets ignore them
now delete the post, as its not PC

  15. I would prefer that the bill gets vetoed and the veto overridden, but that’s not imperative. If Dems oppose this and even one attack is carried out/linked to a refugee, there will be hell to pay.
    I can live with that.

  16. The bill is a sham. The Obama administration will certainly certify that all the refugees are as pure as the driven snow. All this vote did is give cover to Rep’s and Dem’s to look like they are being strong on the Syrian refugee question. Of course it has no chance in the Senate since granny McConnell refuses to kill the filibuster.

  17. I saw Ryan’s interview on Hannity about this bill. I was not impressed.

It’s clear that this is boob bait for bubbas. That Ryan will not force the issue in the December funding bill and risk a Government “shutdown”.

As per usual the Republicans are letting the left frame the debate.

It isn’t let refugees in or they die, it would make more sense (and international refugee laws require) setting up camps in Syria, Iraq, Turkey. Everyone would support that but that doesn’t help the goals of the open borders Reps and Dems.

  18. “If Dems oppose this and even one attack is carried out/linked to a refugee, there will be hell to pay.”

Yeah, sure there will. Who’s gonna lead the charge? Paul Ryan? You and me?

Remember how long the voice of national unity held together after 9/11? Yeah, right. And in 2008 Barack Hussein Obama was elected to transform America. Which he has done and is doing.
There sure has been a lot of hell paid.

    Dream on.

  19. Here’s a comment I’ve made a couple times on Facebook:

Our politicians are doing stupid things in response to this refugee crisis that are likely to precipitate a terrorist attack on U.S. soil like we saw in Paris last Friday.

If such a thing happens (God forbid!), their response will be to do stupid things.

    —-

Additionally it seems to me that if there’s an attack carried out on U.S. soil that is tied to refugees, it will add 20 points to Donald Trump in the polls. Cruz is my favorite, and I like a lot about Carson and Fiorina, and Rubio minus his journey to the Dark Side with respect to immigration, and Bobby Jindal for that matter, and I do believe that every one of those candidates would handle the situation as well or better than Trump, but Trump has the LIVs sewn up.

I would not vote third-party (or abstain) if Trump wins the nomination, but I won’t be happy about it.

Obama in his arrested adolescent hubris seems to be doing everything he can to sabotage his party in 2016, and the funniest part is that neither he nor most of his supporters seem to realize it. Or at least, it would be funny if it weren’t deadly serious and mortally dangerous.

  20. The Long War Continues
    Whatever President Obama may say
    http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/long-war-continues_1067079.html?page=2

It was an instructive exchange. Obama, a first-term senator with no experience in military or intelligence matters, challenged the general who had beaten back a jihadist insurgency in Iraq, led a remarkable turnaround in the country, and was a leading figure in America’s broader war on terror. The assessments Petraeus offered were based on years of personal experience guiding U.S. troops against jihadist armies generally, and Al Qaeda in Iraq specifically, and they were bolstered by mountains of intelligence reporting on the enemy, its objectives, and its practices.

Obama simply thought he knew better. His challenge wasn’t based on facts that contradicted Petraeus, or on facts at all. Rather, Obama made a series of assertions based on nothing more than his long-held conviction that Iraq was a distraction from the war on terror. And when he was presented with evidence that contradicted his thesis, Obama simply set it aside and restated his own view. It’s a pattern that would play out repeatedly throughout his presidency.

Attkisson: Obama Is Selectively Reading Intel Reports
    http://dailycaller.com/2015/11/19/attkisson-obama-is-selectively-reading-intel-reports-video/

“But you’re telling me that you’ve talked to people in his inner circle or in the administration that are telling you that even though there are groups that might be on our terror list that are classified as terrorist groups, Obama in his mind doesn’t consider them to be terrorists because what because they have a gripe?”

Attkisson explained, “I don’t know the reason for it. I’ve only been told by those who have allegedly attempted to present him or been in the circle that have attempted to present him with certain intelligence that they’ve said that he doesn’t want it. He said he doesn’t want it. Or he won’t read it in some instances.”

There is always more and i have put up way too much already…

  21. Its almost as if he gets his orders to behave from someplace else, and so can ignore everything here as there is no work in following orders from a superior (and i am not referring to valerie jarret but to the place where the orders been coming for 98 years so far)

  22. Obama warns Asian leaders to avoid ‘pitfalls’ of America
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/nov/20/obama-warns-asian-leaders-avoid-pitfalls-american-/

President Obama discussed America’s faults Friday with young Asian leaders, saying the U.S. suffers from “pitfalls” such as income inequality, a political system controlled by the wealthy and political parties divided along racial lines.

    [snip]

“It is very important to avoid any political system where money overwhelms ideas,” said Mr. Obama, who raised a record $1.1 billion for his reelection campaign in 2012. “And the United States politics process has become so expensive and it lasts so long, and even though I was successful at it, we spend hundreds of millions of dollars in television advertising and in all the things that go into a U.S. presidential campaign.”

  23. Since any sane rational person agrees that there are Good Muslims truely seeking asylum to escape daesh’s horrors….lets start with a merit system ….that being that we only have room for those that can supply us with fresh actionable intelligence. And FULLY intend to FULLY integrate and assimilate into our culture…and submit to draconian surveylance measures for as long as we see fit…..make it known and start a line to the ticket window….no ticky no shirty…..

  24. There are no good muslims, there are only those who will obey the jihadists and those who refuse to obey Allah.

  25. A civilized person would be killed and raped by Muslims. Do people want to enjoy that kind of fate as admission for your so called civilization?

It ain’t worth it, if you had asked me even 10 years ago.

  26. I see, because you think your Muslims, Clayton, won’t turn you into the death and rape squads, as well as everyone in your clan and neighborhood, you think they’re “good Muslims” and now want to compete with me to see how many “Muslims” I know.

Rationalization is what makes you weak, Clayton. But it won’t save you nor your civilization. Not that you built your civ to begin with.

  27. Clayton Bigsby:

Actually, I know a number of wonderful Muslims.

So what? Fortunately, the Muslims I know are not fanatical jihadi terrorists, or supporters of them. But you know what? There are a lot of Muslims who are. Way way way too many.

    Your comment is an irrelevancy.

  28. In a hierarchy, the majority of powerless trash don’t matter. Because they don’t make a decision. Why do people ask for a human over a computer helper on the voice line?

Why do people want to talk to a fast food’s manager instead of the order staff?

Why do people obey the boss instead of obeying you, an employee of the boss?

If a lowly office worker told security to let him “kick all his bosses in the balls”, would the security obey that worker even though the security likes the worker or would the security obey the SWAT team and the CEO of his company?

Humans don’t even understand the society they live in, let alone Islam or the Left. They don’t know themselves, so they are lost.

  29. Wow….a whole lotta new stronger kool aid being drunk here these days…..

    Ymarsakar,
first i guess I should ask that in dispensing with rational thought…what thought processes do we use…. seems that the jihadis have done just that….In fact I think any reliance on a supreme being for direction is pretty fucking irrational….but then again Im an aetheist.

For instance in a gun fight…. a REAL life or death situation in real time…. not one sitting in your Lazyboy….do you dispense with rational thought? because it makes you weak? and trust God will magically guide your projectiles….emotionally spray and Pray in the direction of the threat? No I think you rely on your rational training and present as small a target as possible, calmly aim and fire.(Metphorically also the best the approach to daesh) Have I done that ….? no. have I trained to be able to do that ? yes. A rational decision just like the choice to carry.

    Neo,
I’m more than a little shocked to see you descend into the defense of such hyperbole….. your statement of “there being a lot of Muslims who are”, is stating the obvious…. for ??? reason?… with roughly 1.2 billion muslim the 15% # guesstimate is obviously a big #….as you say….SO What… also irrelevant in regard to the question that you jumped in to discredit (one of grounding) we are all gonna be raped and behaeaded…Chicken Little the sky is fallin !!

Are the muslims you know good “people” ? The ones i know are and no more tolerant of or inclined to behave like, the jihadis than I am. I used to travel quite a bit in muslim countries and had good and bad experiences with the lowly ignorant masses and the educated wealthy …people are a product of their experiences….or LACK THERE OF.

getting back to the big picture…protecting ourselves has some basic rational steps. Lock the the doors, kill those that would harm us, and learn as much as we can all the time from as many different sources as we can….and sometimes that involves seeing whats happened in other countries and not doing that….Europe comes to mind.

Oh, and don’t rely on a Supreme being.
God helps those that help themselves.

  30. Clayton:

Defense of WHAT hyperbole? I called your comment about whether I know Muslims an irrelevancy. Which it is. However, I answered it.

You ask, “Are the muslims you know good “people” ? The ones i know are and no more tolerant of or inclined to behave like, the jihadis than I am. ”

And yet I already explicitly answered that question. Did you even read my comment? This is what I already wrote:

Actually, I know a number of wonderful Muslims.

So what? Fortunately, the Muslims I know are not fanatical jihadi terrorists, or supporters of them.

I think that “wonderful” pretty much covers “good people.” And the fact that they don’t support fanatical jihadi terrorists and aren’t fanatical jihadi terrorists covers the second sentence in your quote. So what on earth are you saying I said? I said nearly exactly what YOU just said.

I provided links to surveys of Muslims that measure how many ARE supporters of said jihadi fanatical terrorists, however, which is far more relevant. And, if you actually look at those surveys, large percentages of Muslims are pro-terrorist and pro-terrorism. It varies from country to country and year to year, but the numbers tend to run from high teens to the 40s, in terms of percentages. That’s huge, and if it doesn’t catch your attention and concern you, then you’re in willful denial.

It only takes one terrorist to kill a lot of people. In Paris, the attack was apparently committed by about eight, with a few more probably behind the planning. What about this don’t you get? And what about this gets translated into your own hyperbolic statements of “we are all gonna be raped and behaeaded…Chicken Little the sky is fallin!!” as your characterization of what I or anyone else supposedly is saying?

    You’re making no sense whatsoever.
